The Cupcake walking tour of NY City was an amazing idea! It was much fun, the cupcakes were delicious and we really enjoyed the guide - great sense of humour and knowledge of New York. Will definitely try out some of their other tours next time I visit.

Went to this tour with kids, great experience! 7 stops and now I need to lose some weight. Magnolia cupcakes are so tender. My daughter enjoyed Molly's as she could build her own cupcake.

This walking tour strikes a good balance between learning more about an interesting New York location/community and eating sweet stuff. The size of the tour group was about right (13 people) so we could hear everything. Our tour guide, Justin, was knowledgeable about both topics but could have been more engaging and enthusiastic in his delivery - after all, a tour like this is a performance. The tour delivers plenty of sweet stuff including three cupcakes (two of them mini ones), some large pieces of a good donut and several spoonfuls of gelato. Other than the charming West Village, the star of the show is choosing your own cupcake at Molly's Cupcakes. The chocolate cupcake with brown butter icing (recommended by Justin) was hands down the best cupcake I have ever eaten. Sensational. The only disappointment was the dry and ordinary mini-muffin from Magnolia Bakery.

This is a terrible tour and a ripoff. I booked this BestTours tour through GetYourGuide, and both sent me emails after the tour to "leave a review" and I left one-star reviews...and those have not showed up in a week. I wrote emails directly to Best Tours and there has been no response. You will only see 4-5 star reviews on those websites. Those are filtered and notice only a handful are within the past two years. The tour was absolutely terrible. They basically gave you the free samples at the gelato place. Then you get a couple mini cupcakes and macarons. The information was disjointed, minimal, mostly inapplicable, and sometimes inappropriate, and the guide wouldn't make sure the whole group could hear it. He was also completely disorganized, forgetful, reading off his phone, and there is no "design your own cupcake" experience and I highly doubt he was licensed. You will be getting a $5 experience for $50. DO NOT DO THIS. And of course, now I mistrust both Best Tours and Get Your Guide.

I received a message to say the tour was not possible on date booked due to the guide having a personal emergency and unable to run the tour. I did book this very last moment (the morning of the afternoon tour) and appreciate things happen causing the cancellation of walking tours. I was offered a new date but I was unable to take, as I would be travelling home and no longer in NYC. I requested a full refund but to date have heard nothing. I am hoping I will be reimbursed the fee I paid for a tour cancelled by the company.

I was scheduled for the Cupcake Tour on 4/23/22. I received an email from the company that morning stating the tour was cancelled due to the guide possibly having Covid. The company wanted me to schedule another tour but I am out of town and only in the city for the day. I have made numerous attempts to contact company by phone voice messages, emails and online chat asking for a full refund. To date, this company has not responded at all. My bank is disputing and the NYC Better Business Bureau have been contacted.

They advertise gelato. Be warned: the guide comes out with a pint and 20 spoons. You get one small spoon. You wait outside. On a hot day, a scoop would have been nice. Also being able to sit inside.
At some stops you wait outside while the guide goes in to the shop and brings out the cupcakes or cookies. Two stops are for mini cupcakes, one the circumference of a quarter. The guide was nice but gave very little info about the village. Much of the tour is standing outside waiting in the heat while the guide goes into the shops.We paid $240 for 4 adults and one child. This was a rip off.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable but the group size was ridiculous. You could not hear anything. There were officially 15 people in the group but the tour company had 30 people really since they split the group into 2 with a guide each. Both groups went on the same tour at the same time so we were told sorry because of size of group you can’t choose the flavor of your cupcake. There was not enough room in the shops for 15 let alone 30 so 1 group was outside in the rain. Tour would have been fabulous if capped at 10.

Group was to large - larger than what I thought I saw advertised. Could not hear the guide. She needed a microphone and to speak more directly to the group. Went to stand outside some cupcake stores but only went in one. Stood outside some dessert shops but went in none. We really wanted a cupcake tour not a dessert tour. We also didn't want a history of the area walking tour - we wanted a cupcake tour. Expected to be able to see the cupcake stores - hear from the owner or something.

Great thing to do with a family, esp. with kids! we learnt so much about NYC history and architecture, kids love the cup cakes and gelato (adults too!); we never could have gotten our kid to enjoy walking around the city otherwise! Our guide Jenny is AWESOME - Love her and her passion & knowledge about the city plus her sense of humor!
