- stephensH3674DY00Very interesting and enjoyable tour of the West VillageThe tour took in 3 pubs but there was also a fair bit of walking around the west village also, so the tour would be suitable even if you were more interested in a sightseeing tour than the pub part. It was very interesting to learn about the history of the area and to have a look around the neighbourhood assisted by someone who knew it well. Highly recommended!
- williamn95900The highlight of my visitIf I had to single out the highlight of my trip to NYC, this would be it. Kurt and Camber were an absolute delight, enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. No matter how much you have read about the places and the culture being able to walk the streets and place the sites in relation to each other adds a priceless dimension.
- Safari44173200Highly recommendedEric and Justin led this crawl. First post-pandemic in-person tour 😊. So much fun and they are fantastic guides!
- Lpoko25800Informative and fun! This was a fun tour walking around the village and hearing stories of authors known, and unknown. The guides were a comic duo who played off of each other well. Their stories were full of information, and I learned a lot about a part of the city with which I thought I was really familiar. The stops along the way were iconic. We had enough time to get a drink and hear some tales. Definitely a fun afternoon out!
- DCDrayer00Meet, drink and be merry!I loved the relaxed, easy atmosphere of the tour; the stories and poems and history unfolded naturally. Jillian was a lot of fun and did a fantastic job of showing us a good time and helping us all become fast friends.
- GallyGirls00Girls' Weekend 2019!Great time! Our tour guide Kurt was very knowledgeable, friendly and lots of fun! Eric was also super responsive even when I texted on a weekend to double check timing. Would highly recommend this to anyone even remotely interested in literature or the fun history of Greenwich Village.
- WendyTomes00A disappointmentWe were told to be there by 2pm arrived to be greeted with we are a very large group today and won’t leave until 2.20 We left at 3pm Info was interesting but far too slow . At 4pm we were in second pub and all crammed in - too many of us to sit together Guides were interesting but need a smaller group and less hanging around
- reamai00Awesome fun Greenwich experienceWe loved the tour, learned a lot and heard many stories of writers and other cultural persons. Our tour was quite small with just six people. Great pubs and beer, and especially awesome guide! Highly recommended to dive into Greenwich Village!
- jennyjohannsen00Fun and informative!I thoughly enjoyed this tour and also meeting people with the same curiosity of such a historical area. Slot of fun!
- gkennym00Really fun experience - even knowing the Village / NYthis was a "gift" experience for my sister and brother in-law. We really enjoyed the content of the tour and that bars were well-chosen. Didn't realize how cool it would be to walk down certain Greenwich side streets and get context and facts - literary and otherwise - that I never would have known. Would highly recommend!
- Colby R00Books, History, and Booze, Oh My!This tour was a lot of fun, so much to see and talk about. We got a beautiful day which was a pleasant surprise for March especially. There was so much information and it was a great history lesson about Greenwich Village! After the tour was over we chatted with some of the other patrons about books, shows, and the city. We had a great time and would definitely love to do one of their other tours. If you are in the city and love books, history, or drinking this tour is for you!!
- erinesq1005 starsUnique idea and well executed. I went with my boyfriend. We both enjoyed it. He is a big reader and was very into the history. I am less of a reader and I enjoyed the fun facts about the authors. The tour guides were funny and engaging. I would recommend this to anyone who is a big reader or likes NYC history.
- Bill R00Excellent 40th Birthday Crawl!I had an excellent time celebrating my 40th birthday with 20 of my closest family and friends. It was extremely easy to set up; the person I worked with was exceptionally friendly and flexible and responded very quickly to my queries. The day of the crawl, things worked out amazingly smoothly. Our guides--Devin and Justin--were knowledgeable, entertaining, engaging and very funny My entire group had an excellent time. We learned a lot, drank a little more, and had an excellent time doing it! Highest recommendation!! Thank you!!!
- Anna d00Fun and interesting tour!We really enjoyed this tour, which had a lot of fun anecdotes. Due to the enthousiasm of the tour guide, we could submerge in the lifes of the great poets and writers in the Village.
- Pioneer1997410588600Learning can be fun!One of the best ways to spend a Saturday. I loved our tour guides. They were knowledgeable and played off each other nicely. Not only did they give GV a historical context, they even recited some poem/verses from the writers they were talking about. I've done this tour twice now, I will be taking all of my out of town friends on this, because each time you get a little different tour. Would highly recommend.

This was a fun alternative to a lot of the tourist-centric offerings of Times Square. We ventured in and out of side streets to literary rich destinations you may not have heard of. The guides were energetic, knowledgeable, and peppered the walks from bar to bar with beatnik quotes and literary historical references I'd never heard before, despite living here! A charming, low-key afternoon for bookworms who like to drink :)

My wife and I had a great experience on the Times Square pub crawl. Our guide, Anna, was knowledgeable and friendly and knew the content of the material extremely well. We spent a highly enjoyable afternoon learning about the writers who lived, worked and played in mid-town Manhattan. Well worth the money.
