About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- L7666XRpaulb0 contributionsExcellent and informativeWe walked the Marvel and Dc tour this afternoon with Patrick. He was excellent, engaging and interesting, he catered to all ages of the group and all knowledge bases from the novice to the comic obsessed. I know we thanked him on the tour, even though our feet were in bits by the end he even gave us a decent range of local eateries to get dinner at after his talk. Bit of advice do this on a go city pass for best value.Written January 6, 2025
- S5053ZAjessical0 contributionsDefinitely a go to if you enjoy history and good food!Cameron was very knowledgeable about the history of the Lower East Side. The food stops were delicious and they all had a good history to them! My belly was full the entire time!Written January 4, 2025
- ariannacP52WW0 contributionsWonderful tour in the new york nightlifeWe had a wonderful tour with our amazing guide Kaley. She first gave us some background of Greenwich and then we hang around for the most important spots. She gave us pieces of advice for the best bars and let us dive in the real new york nightlife.Written January 1, 2025

- Guide084723291480 contributionsYou can't ask for a better guide than Joel.We could not have asked for a better tour guide. Joel was informative, interesting, and enthusiastic. As a graduate from Columbia University in theater arts, parents who are history teachers, the tour was filled with interesting historical facts, personal anecdotes, tied in with steps of our tour. His tour was more like a family friend proudly showing us the town than a paid tour with a planned out spiel; I could not have asked for a better guide. Book the tour, ask for Joel. You will not be disappointed.Written December 21, 2024

My family and I had a wonderful experience and learned a lot about Greenwich village not told in textbooks! It would have been great to go inside a haunted building rather than to just see from the streets, but I still recommend the tour nonetheless.Written December 9, 2024

Our tour guide David was so knowledgeable and made the experience fantastic! I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to explore the comic writing history of NYC and see some of the land marks where movies have been shot or used in. It explores the architecture of east midtown of the city as well. The tour was 2 hours, but not exhausting as there are many stops along the way. I would recommend this for older kids (>8) if you’re thinking of booking for your kids, as there is more of a historical focus. We will book TopDog for their other tours in the future, excellent company!

Jeff takes the time to get to know his group. He puts an enormous emount of energy in his stories, which makes it more fun to listen. The information given on the tour is also remarkable. Really glad I went to see this one!

The tour was absolutely fun! Our tourguide was Joel and he is not just a proud Spider-Man fan, he lives in NYC and knows what's going on in that place and didn't hesitate to share his knowledge about the city including cool fun-facts.
It doesn't matter if you're a DC or a Marvel fan or if you just want to know something about the movies.
Thank You from Germany :)

Sadly, we are not able to give this tour the credit is might deserve. The Superheroes tour was excellent, but when trying to cancel a further walking tour within the cancellation period, the Top Dog refused to accept our cancellation and despite trying to resolve the dispute, we were still charged for two tickets at a price of ÂŁ50+. Ahead of the tour time we attempted to email, then call (without success), then emailed again all within the 48 hours cancellation period. Patrick at Top Dog had clearly not looked at his emails and sent us a reminder the day before which promopted us to email again. We forwarded all the previously sent emails, but due to the time stamp on some of the emails being 5 hours ahead (UK time v US time), he claimed we had not advised him in time. The difference in time stamp was not difficult to establish from the email, but he chose to charge us anyway. This poor and unfair service has soured what was otherwise a good experience. Be careful when booking and be even more careful if cancelling. We are currently disputing the charge with Mastercard and processing a refund claim against Top Dog. Being a small business is no excuse for poor service!

This review is terribly misleading. As a New York Pass guest, upon booking you agree to show up
and have your pass scanned or you will be charged. We allow guests to cancel 2 days before if we are contacted by phone. You claim here you called us, but we have an email from you saying you couldn’t call because of your foreign phone. To that we said most guests have a concierge call or use their hotel phone. Also, time stamps on emails don’t stay the same when you leave there country, they show the time of where you are. However, as we require a phone call to cancel, the timing of your email is a moot point. The tour you booked was full, and by reserving and not showing up we lose money. We have this policy for this exact situation. When guests have extreme circumstances we are more than happy to accommodate, but in your own words, you were “just too tired.” We are a small business, and have this rule so we are not taken advantage of by guests who do not show up such as yourself. We suggest that in future travels you don’t sign up for such a lengthy itinerary and this won’t be an issue as most companies have a similar if not more strict cancellation policy.

We had a tour scheduled for April 18, 2022. I called about 45 minutes before the tour because we were delayed from another tour and would arrive for the tour right on time. The woman I spoke with said I understand and said it’s not a problem, I will let the tour guide know. Not once did she say I would get a charge of $175 on my credit card. I assumed all was okay when the woman reassured me everything was fine. That evening, I get charged so I call back and a woman with the worst customer service skills answered the phone and said “why wouldn’t we charge you?” I told her the woman I spoke with earlier said it was fine. If I had known I would have been charged, I would have ubered my way to the meeting spot and bypassed the delayed trains.
When I explained this to the woman, she said you should have known you had a cancellation fee. Since the woman from my earlier conversation didn’t say anything and said it was fine, I assumed it was fine. I booked this tour with my New York pass.
Awful customer service, awful tone when speaking to you, and no one I’ve encountered in New York has talked down to me like this woman has. Sometimes things come up and companies, especially tourist companies coming back from the pandemic, needs to have better customer service. Appreciate the business you’re getting and hire better people to be customer facing.

Hello,
We decided to reply to your review to inform readers of what actually happened. You are a NY Pass Guest, which means you do not actually pay for the tour but it is included in a separate tour pass. We allow NY Pass guests so sign up but require a credit card to hold the reservation we charge guests if they do not show up for taking up a spot. When you initially called you claimed you would arrive on time which is why you were told it was "ok." You didn't mention being late or not ATTENDING AT ALL, which is what you chose to do. If you had said this, she would not have told you it was ok.
Upon reviewing the call, you were in fact the rude one. After the things you said, she should have hung up on you. It is not our responsibility to inform someone of the charge when they say they will still be attending. In fact, even if they say they won't be attending it's still not our responsibility as you checked a box agreeing to the policy MULTIPLE times, received a confirmation email with the policy (which we have proof you opened), and could have easily found it numerous places on our website.
In the future, we suggest being on time to things you book, or at least being honest about your intentions with the people you speak to.

The superhero walking tour of New York City was fantastic! Our family loved learning about the history of some of our favorite heroes and visiting the iconic locations where they save the day. Our guide, Luke, was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, making the tour both informative and engaging. My teens, ages 13 and 16 were engaged the whole time and still talk about it. I would highly recommend this tour to any superhero fan or anyone looking to explore the city in a fun and unique way.

What a fun tour! I’ve lived in NYC for over fifteen years and I learned so much on this tour. Our guide, Patrick, was fantastic. So friendly, funny and knowledgeable. He took time to answer all of our questions and offered so many fun facts and superhero/comics tidbits, that even this comic novice was able to follow along with. If you’re looking for a fun way to fill a couple hours, I highly recommend this tour. If you’re a true comic book/superhero fan, this tour is a must!

This tour was so great! Patrick was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable. We had two 11 year old superhero fans with us and he was very engaging. I left this tour wanting to rewatch all of the superhero classics. I highly recommend this on your next trip to the city.

This was such a great tour!
I decided to take my 9 year old son on a mother-son trip to NYC and wanted to find something special - a little different and geared toward his own particular interests. I came across this tour as a fluke and, though I generally enjoy the superhero movies he loves, I expected to be counting the minutes until this was over. Well, I underestimated just how interesting, informative, and nostalgic this tour would be for me! We learned about architecture, history, why certain areas are used for filming movies, and the highlight for me… we got to visit the real location used for the Daily Planet in the 1970s Superman movie (my favorite as a kid). I had expected this whole tour to be about modern day superheroes and not much else, but I was so wrong! Our tour guide, Luke, was also fantastic! So good at keeping the adults and kids engaged and extremely knowledgeable on all things superhero. He was just a delight and really made this tour special.
I highly recommend this tour. As for my 9 year old… he says that it has been his favorite thing we have done in NYC and says that he wants to do it again next time we come!

Written October 27, 2019
There weren’t many locations but we did go to the daily planet office (superman). That’s the picture with the globe. And he did talk about the DC comics. If you had questions about the he’d definitely answer them.

Hiya, i have booked a trip to New York for my partner's 40th birthday. I was hoping to book this tour as he would love it. Its not until March 29th 2019 but it wouldn't let me click on the availability section. Would this tour be running then? Thanking you in advance, Hayley.

Hi Hayz. I don’t see why they wouldn’t still be running by March 2019. I believe it should still be. You guys will enjoy this tour. All the best
