Our guide, Audrey, was extremely passionate and knowledgeable and truly loves sharing all that she knows with guests on the tour. Very impressive! - Cindy M0 contributionsGreat experienceThis workshop was a gift for my 15 year old nephew's birthday. He is a budding graffiti artist. Four of us newbies joined him (ages 34, 34, 38 and 62). The instructor started by showing us basic techniques and was also able to keep my more experienced nephew happy by showing him some new things and by providing some constructive criticism. A great time was had by all!Written November 12, 2024

- Seaside435191000410 contributionsBEST TOUR GUIDE EVER!The tour guide was EXCELLENT! Our group had people from Belgium, Spain, France, and Germany (we were the only two Americans). The tour guide made the trip relevant for EVERYONE, with anecdotes and information relevant to each culture. She was humorous, with an expert knowledge of graffiti and related art forms. She knew the artists, their backgrounds, and their passions. One of the best tours EVER!!!!Written November 2, 2024
- angelafY645RV0 contributionsLA street art sceneIf you are interested in the history of tagging and street art, this is an awesome tour. Gabe is very knowledgeable and can give your insights into the artists, the culture and the process behind the art. The art changes over time so what we saw may not be there in a month, but the art was incredible. Would highly recommend this tour.Written October 26, 2024
- isaiah3660 contributionsAwesome, unique experience! We booked a workshop with Graff Tours for a team event and we all absolutely loved it! It was cool to go through the mini lessons at the beginning and then we all brainstormed on a final concept to create as a group. Really fun and creative event that I'm recommending to people from now on.Written October 18, 2024
- 586jimmyp0 contributionsSeeing the real NYC with this graffiti tour. Highly recommend.Went on a tour with Eddie who is a legend of graffiti writing and gave me a firsthand account of the history of the art. He shared with me the culture and values of artists past and present with a thorough knowledge of specific artists working the streets today. I have lived in NYC for 15 years and it was one of the best experienced I've had since I moved here. Logistically, the meetup location was easy and on time. Communication was great throughout the process. Highly recommend.Written October 15, 2024
- roverquesada0 contributionsGreat Experience! It was an excellent tour!! Audrey was very funny, yet precise and emphatic when showing the influence of graffiti not only in the Bushwick neighborhood but also from its beginnings in New York City. Highly recommended! It's the second time I've done it, the first was in 2019!Written October 13, 2024
- donag7010 contributionsHighly recommended urban LA tourThe walking tour in downtown L.A with Gabe was fabulous! He was able to put the tags/pieces/murals in an historical context, showing their significance deeply rooted in the cultural tangle that is Los Angeles. It was almost like walking with an art historian. We found him to be respectful of the artists, enough so, that he went as far as receiving permission to tour there, in contrast to the common attitude of ownership and disregard.Written October 8, 2024
- Wander033761210830 contributionsOk but no keepsake/memory to take homeArtist was great. However, there was no canvas to take home after as we had heard about through friends. Apparently this is now an extra charge that you have to note when you register online. I do not feel like I was asked this question when I signed up online and I was not allowed to add it on at the time of the session. Which was really disappointing as we planned to have something to take home w us. The workshop is cool, but I would have been much less likely to pay the fee if I understood there was nothing to take home as a family memory.Written September 25, 2024

- jlh0f0 contributionsIncredible experience for the whole family! The full Graff Tours experience was the perfect way for my husband, 11-year old son, and I to spend an afternoon while on vacation in NY. Our son has been obsessed with graffiti lately - the art, the lifestyle, and the culture - and he certainly got his fill of all of this while working with MIMS in his studio and touring the streets of Bushwick with Audrey. Audrey’s knowledge of (and in many cases friendships with) the graffiti writers of past and present was really impressive! We all learned a lot from her. And MIMS was very cool and kind to my son who had only held a spray can once before in his life. Our family is very thankful for the time we had in Brooklyn with Graffiti tours and certainly plan on recommending the experience to our friends!Written August 24, 2024

We only had a lesson booked, no walking tour. We were dropped off by Uber in a quiet, isolated and somewhat sketchy neighborhood as it was getting dark. We didn’t see any signs, guide or classmates gathered. Then we noticed the ‘Graff Tours’ designation over the inconspicuous door and let ourselves in. Building seemed dimly lit and then we were unexpectedly greeted by the teacher, an original graffiti artist from the late 60s/early 70s.
Studio was windowless, but cool with fully graffiti’d walls and more spray paint cans than you could count! Due to covid, we were glad to have had masks for the painting. We enjoyed learning the techniques, and appreciated the disposable gloves provided and the personalized ‘tagged’ canvas we created to take home. For maximum enjoyment, I would best recommend this activity with a group (more than 2) and during the day.

Our instructor Miems was fantastic. He explained the history and various techniques of Graffiti and he was kind and patient in his instruction. Highly recommend! We were running a few minutes late and he called us a few minutes before the start to check on us and even came down to get us because the location isn’t the easiest to find.

I recently left this lesson disappointed, but I shouldn't have been. I brought my 8 and 11 year old to learn about this type of art. The first problem was how tired they were to start with. Obviously their behavior was a factor, but I expected that if I'm paying for 3 people I would get 3 canvas's. However, we only got one and trying to get 2 tired and small kids attention with one canvas wasn't happening. It left them trying to agree on one thing and they couldn't be more different. So they were fighting over colors and designs until I said I had enough and we left with no art in hand. Not to mention the pot smell in the room was horrific. Other then that it could have been an amazing experience. I just wish I would have know it was only one canvas per group b/c I would have gladly paid double.

My 12-year old daugter and I did the graffiti lesson after doing the street art tour with Graff Tours (same company). Our teacher, Envy, was great at explaining the different techniques to draw letters, different width lines, and blending colors with spray paint. My daugther was complaining at the end that it wasn't long enough, which is always a good sign. And it was fun actually getting a chance to create our own art using the techniquest that Envy showed up. A++.

The experience is dope.
The culture of street art is something I’ve grown up around as a child, but never truly learned about it until now.
Getting to learn about the art being created and the process was enlightening and influential, because the artist was a true professional. Truly recommend it to all!

This was an amazing experience. I was able to gain a deeper appreciation of the art form plus I learned how to create it. We even came home with a canvas of our work, which was a highlight.
Our instructor was Ghost. He made it fun and easy to follow.

Had an amazing experience, Mims1 was a great instructor. We, as a family, had a blast learning from him. He walked us through step by step to make an absolutely awesome piece of art that will hang in our basement for years to come! #FIREZ

I took my son to NYC for his 14th birthday with my mom. He LOVED this class. Ghost Mims taught us techniques in a "demonstrate and try" method. After learning a few techniques, he helped us create our own graffiti canvas to take him. This was the best souvenir of our trip.

I’ve been interested in Graffiti Art since strolling through what used to be the 5 Points Museum in Brooklyn years ago. Fast forward 2 decades, and I took my 8 year old to NY for his Birthday and couldn’t pass this up. It was supposed to be a fun activity for him, but little did I know we would both have a blast. The instructor was amazing, and we got to make something to take home. My boy is super proud of his artwork and the huge canvass is already hanging in his room. I definitely recommend this experience. It was also cool to walk around that neighborhood and see all the graffiti. We got to catch some artists doing something (city approved) outside on our way back to Manhattan. Amazing… An experience that will never be forgotten.

Can we do one as a family? There are 4 of us, and we don’t need this much graffiti in our house.
Written August 18, 2022
Yes, there was a family of four and they worked on one canvas all together. My daughter and I worked on another canvas separately (and we ended up not taking it with us because it's pretty large, and we were flying home the next day).
