About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- gourmandgals0 contributionsAmazing tour and guideOur guide Michael talked and engaged with us the entire time, good voice for us to hear even w NYC street noise. Amazing remarkable knowledge of theaters history as well as old and current and upcoming shows on and off broadway. We LOVED this tour and our group had an age range from 14-70 so that’s saying a lot. And even though it got warm/hot, it was well worth our time. If you love the theater do this tour!Written June 16, 2022
- TrailBlazer5360620 contributionsWalking the Great White WayWhat a great way to spend a couple of hours in the theatre district. Mikey was energetic, informative, entertaining knowledgeable and organized. I would highly recommend this tour as a way to know some of the back story about Broadway.Written March 3, 2022
- Savvytraveler20180 contributionsExcellent Broadway Theatre-District Tour and Mike is the best tour guide! We first booked a Broadway theatre-district tour in 2018 and just had to return for another one this summer. We specifically requested that Mike be our guide, as he has an amazing knowledge of all things theatre and is highly engaging and tour-guest focused!! We cannot wait to return for another tour with Mike in 2020!!Written July 30, 2019
- skrat20160 contributionsNot what we expectedBeware, you do not enter any theaters during this tour! This tour was not what we expected at all. Although our tour guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable about "all things Broadway", we had expected to see inside the theaters and that was not part of the tour at all. We stood outside the theathers and he showed us pictures on his cell phone. We had booked the entire first and second parts of this tour, but finally left Mike after about 3 hours and he still wasn't done. We did mention to Mike that we thought we were going to go inside theaters and see behind the scenes things and he said, "yes, I have heard that before". Maybe this is being marketed incorrectly. I don't think we were big enough theater enthusiasts to appreciate this tour. If you LOVE the theater and have seen lots of shows, this may be the tour for you! We were very disappointed.Written June 22, 2019
- cbtbhbyall0 contributionsLots of Broadway History!!!My daughter and I met Mike at the designated location and we were the only people taking the tour. Mike was very knowledgeable about all the Broadway theatres and shows and my daughter had a wonderful time learning about all the theatres, the actors and the shows of Broadway, past and present. Mike was energetic about the theatre and was a very friendly and accommodating tour host. There were some stories about ghosts and hauntings that were mixed in with the overall tour (mainly for the older theatres), so if ghosts are your PRIMARY focus, this may not be the tour for you. The biggest BONUS was when we went to Sardi's to look at the caricatures of the stars, we ran into Jeremy Jordan and Shoshana Bean doing an interview with Playbill about their upcoming involvement with the production of Waitress. Very cool experience. My daughter could not have been more excited!!! She will be talking about that tour for years to come. If you love to learn about Broadway and the many theatres and shows, this is a great tour to take. We recommend it!Written April 9, 2019
- Jennifer L0 contributionsSingin in the RainMy daughter, her friend and I had the pleasure of taking a New York Broadway Tour (Act 3) for her birthday. We had a blast, despite the rain! Our tour guide, Mike, was so enthusiastic, knowledgeable about all things Broadway (past and present). He was eloquent and matched the level of craziness that my daughter has for everything on the great white way. We walked around the theater district, stopping at certain points for interesting tidbits and trivia. Mike had a tablet with him, on which he had uploaded pictures and videos relevant to the tour. It was helpful to have a visual to many of the subjects we were discussing. Although we are pretty well versed on many areas of entertainment and New York history, we learned SO many new things from Mike! I highly recommend this tour to anyone, no matter the level of knowledge! Thank you for a memorable birthday!Written August 15, 2018
- angelamoos0 contributionsFun Time in BroadwayWe came to NYC to go to several Broadway shows and decided to take the Act 1 tour. We did the private tour and was not disappointed! Our tour guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable and friendly-he even added to,our tour by walking us to the Gershwin which us where our first show was at. We learned a lot about the different theatres and the shows that where put on there. I definitely recommend the tour for all Broadway lovers!Written August 4, 2018
- Carol C0 contributionsHear the beat... of walking feet!We visited New York during a heat wave and had to rush to meet our tour guide. It was certainly a case of “summer heat boy and girl(s) meet!” We were somewhat surprised to discover upon arrival that it was just the two of us and Mike, our tour guide. However, there were “no fits, no fights, no feuds and no egos!” We were “Amigos! Together!” Mike’s knowledge of musical theatre, both past and present, was sensational and his enthusiasm for his subject was infectious. We learned about ghosts, successful shows, unsuccessful shows and complete flops. The tour was advertised as lasting for 2 hours but, in fact, it lasted for 3 hours although the time passed in a flash. If you love musical theatre, this tour cannot be missed. The one thing Mike left us with was that you should “follow every rainbow, ‘til you find your dream”! Highly recommended.Written July 24, 2018
- Laura C0 contributionsNot a Ghost TourThis tour was not exactly as advertised. Our guide was nice and knowledgeable, but not exactly a ghost tour. Only information on Broadway and a few notes on ghosts. Unable to go into any theatres or haunted sites. A disappoint in this area. Nothing ghostly about this tour.Written May 5, 2018
- LoveOfMagic0 contributionsAMAZING BROADWAY TOUR in spite of freezing temperaturesAmada, our tour guide and founder of New York Broadway Tours told us many amazing stories about past and present Broadway Musicals and Theaters. She knows soooo much about it and communicates her incredible knowledge in an enthusiastic, fun way!! It was freezing (approximately 15 degrees, windchill much lower), so we went to the famous "Broadway restaurant" Sardi's with so many drawings of famous Broadway stars on the walls where she continued her stories. I had SUCH A GREAT TIME listening to her stories and looking at the pictures trying to recognize Broadway stars!! I will definitely join Amada on other tours!!Written December 30, 2017
- VernonCT0 contributionsWonderful tour!We enjoyed this tour very much. It was cold out but part of the tour is indoors and part of it is outdoors. Our guide was wonderful and there was a diverse crowd (age wise) in the group. We enjoyed hearing the history but I think the best part of the tour is the inside of New Amsterdam Theatre. As far as I know, this is the only tour that allows you onstage , which is truly magical if you have a theatre fan in the family as I do. Highly recommend!Written December 28, 2017
- mcgeewest0 contributionsPiano Bars in the villageA great time visiting some of the oldest cabaret and piano bars in the lower West side. Tons of history. Our guide was great, she was warm, funny and well informed.Written December 21, 2017
- darylrs0 contributionsEast Village Ghost Pub CrawlMy husband and I enjoyed our exclusive walking tour with Amada. We stopped at fun and interesting bars in the area to imbibe and learn about local ghost sightings. Amada is high-energy and knowledgable. Great night!Written November 26, 2017
- tourguidestan0 contributionsMusical Theatre Broadway walking toursThis was the most fun I've had in Times Square ever. Amada took our group all around to the Broadway theaters, giving us inside scoops of performances current and past, back to 100 years ago. She clearly knows a great deal about Broadway history, and gives it to her customers in a manner that builds excitement as the tour progresses!Written November 7, 2017
- 75Beatrice750 contributionsJust wow!Simply awesome! I had such an amazing time discovering Broadway with Amada! She is passionate about so many subjects, I couldn't have had a better guide. Don't hesitate a second to book one (or more...) tour(s) or to go on a private one! Trust me, you won't regret it a second! But you'll sure regret not to have done it! ;)Written October 27, 2017

We had the BEST time on our RENT tour with Mike. He had the best personality and just brightened our day. He knew so much about RENT and we loved learning from him. I'm inspired now to re-watch the movie to see all of the places we visited. If you love RENT you should definitely take this tour.

My husband and I had a fantastic time with Amada on the Rent walking tour! Amada is full of knowledge all things Rent and broadway and such a lovely person! We visited sites used in the film and that inspired the musical and listened to all Amanda's wonderful stories and bits of history. Fantastic tour!
