- K7188DWninap0 contributionsGot Lame Walls? Graff Tours Will Help You Level Them Up!I’ve tried Graff Tours' group sessions, private group sessions, and date night, and all of them were awesome. I’ve had the chance to take classes with Ghostface Mims and Leaf, and each session was a blast. Each artist has their own style, so it never gets boring. They break down the techniques clearly, then give you space to practice before letting you dive into your own piece. The vibe is super relaxed, and the instructors are friendly, helpful, and chill. The location’s convenient—right by the subway, parking’s easy if you are driving, and they even have restrooms (big plus!). Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, Graff Tours is the perfect spot to try graffiti in a fun, hands-on way. Can’t wait to go back! At this point, I’m seriously considering just turning my entire house into a giant canvas. Who needs bare walls when you can have spray paint masterpieces everywhere? 😎Written December 24, 2024
- 944farrens0 contributionsA highlight of my trip to LAThe art on this tour was absolutely gorgeous, and seemingly continually spawning. Raf was a great tour guide with a huge amount of knowledge and genuine love for the art form. He was very flexible and was able to adapt the tour to my interests and enthusiasms on the fly. Just a great, great afternoon.Written December 24, 2024
- 62candyh0 contributionsHard to find & access but well worth the difficulties. The studio is in a more run down part of Brooklyn and the door was locked when we arrived with a for rent sign above the door. Took a moment to get someone to come to the door and he was with another program so didn’t know where to direct us. There was no clear signage to the graffiti workshop. Leaf_8K,our instructor, was late. He jumped right in, clearly explained things as he went along and helped us as we needed. He managed to help 10 people create graffiti on the walls and 8 of us made personal graffiti art to take home. It was a wonderful and engaging time.Written December 11, 2024
- lindseylC4837KZ0 contributionsAmazing and Unique Family ActivityBoth our tour and workshop were fabulous and memorable! We never knew the story behind how graffiti is made, the lingo, respect, and longevity. It was a little chilly outside but the tour was local and the streets are beautifully covered with this artwork. The workshop was great for our 3 kids (ages 13, 11, and 8) and the way they had us do a group art and individual canvases that we could take home made it extra special. Would 10000% recommend doing this activity to everyone we know heading to NY!Written December 8, 2024

My 9 year old son Timmy came with me. or should I say I went with him as he is the future graffiti arts. - Cindy M0 contributionsGreat experienceThis workshop was a gift for my 15 year old nephew's birthday. He is a budding graffiti artist. Four of us newbies joined him (ages 34, 34, 38 and 62). The instructor started by showing us basic techniques and was also able to keep my more experienced nephew happy by showing him some new things and by providing some constructive criticism. A great time was had by all!Written November 12, 2024

- angelafY645RV0 contributionsLA street art sceneIf you are interested in the history of tagging and street art, this is an awesome tour. Gabe is very knowledgeable and can give your insights into the artists, the culture and the process behind the art. The art changes over time so what we saw may not be there in a month, but the art was incredible. Would highly recommend this tour.Written October 26, 2024

- isaiah3660 contributionsAwesome, unique experience! We booked a workshop with Graff Tours for a team event and we all absolutely loved it! It was cool to go through the mini lessons at the beginning and then we all brainstormed on a final concept to create as a group. Really fun and creative event that I'm recommending to people from now on.Written October 18, 2024
- donag7010 contributionsHighly recommended urban LA tourThe walking tour in downtown L.A with Gabe was fabulous! He was able to put the tags/pieces/murals in an historical context, showing their significance deeply rooted in the cultural tangle that is Los Angeles. It was almost like walking with an art historian. We found him to be respectful of the artists, enough so, that he went as far as receiving permission to tour there, in contrast to the common attitude of ownership and disregard.Written October 8, 2024

I’m local and was looking to play tourist in my own city. This was the perfect outdoor, socially distanced activity! They require masks as well, so I felt quite safe even in this COVID era. The tour guide was very friendly and informative and we got to see some beautiful art. She even pointed out a spot where an artist would be painting that same day and hung out with me after the tour to watch him at work. Overall I learned a lot and would definitely recommend this tour, whether you’re a visitor or an NYC local.

My husband and I went on this tour with Audrey, who was fantastic! She knows so much about the art scene, which is clearly her passion , so we learned a lot and saw some amazing murals. What made this tour extra special was Audrey, who provides information in such an engaging and enthusiastic manner. She is one of a kind, as was this tour. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I try to go on a graffiti / street art tour in most cities I travel too. This tour started out great with Eddie giving us a history of graffiti and talking about some of the finer details, but when it came to the walking tour portion, I was less impressed. I envisioned much more from someone who is a "pioneer of graffiti". Most tours I've attended in the past, the guide will talk about the piece, the artist, and what they were trying to say. Eddie would basically just say the same thing about every piece. It was either street art or graffiti, who it was, and where they were from. I felt like I didn't really learn about the artist or the art. I'd check for another tour. Eddie was a great guy, I just want more from my tours.

Really informative tour about history of graffiti and street art in Brooklyn where it really all began. Eddie, aka “staff 161”, one of the original graffiti artists from the 1960’s was our guide and really knew his stuff. Purpose, styles, unwritten rules and terminology of the trade all came alive. He was excellent. Recommend this tour. Artwork was amazing, many talented people.

Audrey provided a great tour of the neighborhood. She was knowledgeable about the history of graffiti, the works of all the artists, and presented clearly and in a fun way. My family enjoyed this!
We only wandered around a small area (circled around a few adjacent streets), so this would work nicely for people who aren't interested in walking that much. There are endless grafiti works.

I took my niece (11) and nephew (18) on this tour. Audrey, our tour guide, was great! She knew so much about the art and managed to bring the kids in and keep everyone engaged and willing to stick it out in the snow. It was so great to explore a new part of the city. Roberta’s is just a short walk from the meeting spot.

Absolutely loved the tour by Audrey! I have done five other street art tours all around the world and this one was one of the best! It wasn’t a long tour in terms of mileage but that was only because the tour covers an intensely dense painted area. Our guide Audrey was amazing - she really knows the scene, the artists and basically every single artwork. I have never heard so much background on any art - because she knows the artists and sometimes was even there when the pieces were painted. More in-depth knowledge would be impossible without talking to every single artist themselves. Can’t recommend it enough!

Having visited NYC several times, we used this past trip to spread out a bit. After much research, I picked this tour over a Brooklyn bike tour* and happy we did. Being from Chicago, we know the true beat of a city is in the neighborhoods, many different from others. WOW this area in Brooklyn is a must-visit for it's history as well as the current vibe. New York breathes creativity across the globe and the seminal works up and down the block, AND AND AND the expert details and enthusiastic tales that our guide shared, blew off the doors of an art form that I've naively glimpsed across Chicago. Of course, it's a rich experience once we start exploring an area of art. I was not anticipating the sheer delight of it all. Forgive me that I can't recall our guide's name. (We had to leave early) but I can't help but wonder if a tour by another person would be as grand. THANK YOU!!!
*Not that the bike ride wouldn't have been interesting. Maybe another time."

As a former but forever artist and real Nyer I decided to take advantage of visiting unique Ny places and tours. This was by far the best. Graff tours were fantastic. Gabriel was a wonderful tour guide even on the coldest day we have had in a while. It is worth the money. Definitely worth the money. He was so friendly to my baby cousin and me and knowledgeable. The work, murals, and graffiti were stunning. It was like my city is a museum the kind I remembered as a child in the Bronx. The Art is endless and goes on for miles if you walk or drive. He offered good suggestions for food and other activities. The murals and art pieces and graffiti had world-renowned artists as well as old-school Bronx original artists. I may take visiting friends and family gain because it was just that special. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

How strenuous is the tour? My adult daughter has MS and has a service dog. She is reasonably strong but may be a little slow. Would this pose a problem. Also, there are 7 of us. How many people are usually in the group? Could we be the entire group?
Written March 24, 2019
Hi. It's level walking at your pace. Perhaps too much time standing and listening, but that will depend on which guide you get. I don't think 7 wil be a problem, but call the company- you may be able to get a tour just for your group and maybe a discount too. Enjoy!

I would like to know where the tour starts? We are coming from Manhattan and want to know what subway station to get off at to get to the beginning of the tour? Should we wait and make the reservation when we get to NYC on the 9th?
Written September 25, 2018
You'd better book your tour before arriving in NYC. As for the meeting point, this was the weak point of the tour. They changed it at the last minute and we waited a while before they sent a cab to pick us up and drive us to the new place where the guide was waiting for us... Otherwise, it was very interesting and the artists painting very good, though I am only an amateur and cannot tell you much any longer about who the artists were. Contact them for all details via their website, that's my recommendation.
