My 12-year-old granddaughter and I finished our 4-day visit to New York with this tour. She's a self-avowed "Disney Geek" and she loved it. Our guide, Colin, was excellent, did a wonderful job of including everyone in the group, and provided fascinating history of the area. Once we got to the New Amsterdam Theatre, the Disney people took over, and they, too, were wonderful. The highlight for my granddaughter was the costume and prop area. One guide in particular was especially kind to us. My granddaughter was struggling a bit to get access to the costumes due to a larger group of girls in front of us. This man made sure she not only got her turn, but had plenty of time. He even helped pose a great picture for us. I wish I knew his name -- he has dark hair and wears glasses; we are very grateful to him.

My family & I found this tour interesting given our Daughter is a musical theatre graduate, however I would not recommend this for the young. The only reference to 'Disney' are the productions within the New Amsterdam Theatre and the access to costumes at the end of the tour.

Much of the information provided was about the Ziegfeld Follies, older classical actors, the decor within many of the theatres and the ghost of Olive Thomas!

This tour lasts approx 3 hours in all weathers so come prepared.

Tour guide and staff very friendly.

No head-set provided.

Tour guide had been on Broadway and a touring company so how much fun to get more insider information! Most of tour is outside so I would not do in the summer. Just too hot. Getting to see some of the props/costumes up front and try them on is fun for any age! It is 2.5 hours in length though, so prepare your schedule accordingly. We were i formed it was only 2 hrs and had a train to catch so we missed a few things...however given this our tour guide accommodated us so we could see the props and costumes. Very grateful!!

Correy was an amazing guide! Probably our favorite tour guide ever! He was energetic and so knowledgeable about the subject. The behind the scenes tour was something special and I would recommend it to anyone who loves Disney and/or Broadway. Standing on the stage was such a unique experience and wearing/holding the props was icing on the cake.

After reading about the tour and consuming all of the reviews, I expected to have a wonderful time. I was not prepared for the highlight to be our tour guide, Colin. While he is incredibly energetic and knowledgeable, what amazed me the most was his pure joy. He made sure that everyone on the tour was completely engaged and even quickly memorized everyone's name. So glad that we randomly got to spend two hours with him.

We are in NYC for a week. The “main event” of our visit was seeing Frozen on Broadway. It was my kids’ first Broadway show. My older child (age 10) asked to go backstage and this tour was the closest I could find. I attended with my 10 year old daughter and my 67 year old mother. My husband and 4 year old didn’t attend, which was good since the 4 year old would have been bored and my husband isn’t interested in musical theatre. The tour was very good. Our guide, Collin, was excellent. He had to take a double group as they were short one guide so there were 35 of us. It was just fine. Collin was on Broadway as a swing in Matilda for 4 years so he had lots of stories about the experience of being a working actor in NYC. The tour took us throughout time square and we got a history of Broadway and Time Square, as well as a lot of Disney trivia. The tour of the New Amsterdam theatre was really special. We learned the history of the theatre and got the chance to take pics on the stage. My 10 year old loved trying on costume pieces and getting her photo taken on the stage. My mom and I enjoyed the history lesson. Something for everyone. I’d recommend it for kids 10+, as it’s a lot of standing and listening. Don’t bother unless you’re a theatre fan!

Hi jesslikesstuff, Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice, thoughtful review! We are glad that you and your family enjoyed your time on Broadway and got to take fun pictures and mementos to look back on. We apologize for any inconvenience that being double grouped may have caused; we know how special an experience like this can be, and we are happy to hear that your group was still able to be guided smoothly under Collin's wing. Thank you again for your review. We hope that the rest of your time in New York was just as magical! Best Regards, The Walks Team

Good but ....

Awesome tourguide friendly and really fun !!
But the tour was more about the history of broadway(almost 1.5h) and just 20m of Disney behin d the scenes!!

So my little girl was disappointed, but I learned a lot about broadways history!!

The costumes where fun but bad organised and really short just about 5-10 min !! And that’s actually why I booked this tour !!!

I ask my little girl what I should write and she said awesome !!!!!

Yea she’s a nice one !!!

Overall the tour was good. The best part was actually being in theater towards the end of the tour and my daughter getting to be on the stage and then trying on actual Disney costumes from the Aladdin show.

One of the best tours ever. Our guide Ric who is also a broadway actor gave us all the details of the broadway theaters since the beginnings till today’s date. We learned many things about the history of Broadway and visited the beautiful Amsterdam theatre were Aladdin is playing. At the theater we tried customs and had lots of fun! I highly recommend this tour

We met at the George M Cohen statue in Times Square. Our guide was also an actor. He led us through the history and area of Times Square and ended up at the New Amsterdam Theater. We were given an introduction and allowed to go on stage. Then we were allow to try on some of the costumes. Very good tour for all ages.
