We absolutely loved our Guided Tour of Liberty and Ellis Island! Our guide Matt was excellent, kept things interesting, knew his history, and kept us involved (especially at Ellis Island). Would highly recommend!
Follow in the footsteps of New York’s early immigrants and discover the beacon of liberty herself on this half-day tour of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Enjoy priority boarding onto the ferry from Lower Manhattan—no waiting in line. This tour also includes guaranteed Statue of Liberty Museum and observation deck admission, audio headsets to make your guide’s stories crystal clear, and entry to Ellis Island’s historical facilities.
In the morning, head to Battery Park in Lower Manhattan, where you board a ferry. Skip the line with priority boarding, then take in the cinematic views of New York Harbor en route to your first stop: Liberty Island.
Venture into the Statue of Liberty Museum, where audio headsets make it easy to hear your guide’s commentary. Ascend to the observation deck in the statue’s pedestal, from where you get 360-degree views and sweeping photos of New York’s skyline.
Board another ferry bound for neighboring Ellis Island, which housed New York’s primary immigrant processing facilities from 1892 to 1954. Learn about the millions of people from around the world who passed through this gateway to the United States, and tour its well-preserved facilities with your guide.
The tour ends when you board a ferry back to Battery Park, though you can choose to linger at Ellis Island’s Immigration Museum or see more of its sights before returning.
We couldn't get tickets to the Pedestal unless we go with a tour. City Tales was reasonably priced compared to other tour groups. Our guide Matt is a good story teller, can sing and recite poem. Our family loved it!
This tour says 4.5 hours, but plan for more. First stop is the Statue of Liberty. She is breathtakingly beautiful and symbolic. Then to Ellis Island. The guide takes you through their tour and then sets you free. So the 4.5 hours does not include...More
We booked the tour through Viator (group of 8 people). We ended up in a group of 27 people. The tour-guide, Jim, mainly spent his time rushing us from place to place. The actual explanations were very banal, on the short side and didn't add...More
Loved this tour. But be warned - its 4 HOURS! I haven't been to Statue of Liberty in 50 years and have never seen Ellis Island. I definitely recommend both. The Statue is stunning and the story behind it all is amazing. Unfortunately, we did...More
Hi and thanks for sharing your feedback. I'm very glad that you enjoyed your tour with us. They have really built the museum up so much on Ellis Island and you can easily spend a couple of hours seeing all of the exhibits they've installed...More
