The walking food tour was outstanding. It is a combination of history and gastronomic experience. Our guide Dave was remarkable in connecting history with the delicious food that we tasted. Definitely worth every penny.

    Tours that make the trip!
We took the Downtown Historic Walking Tour with David and the Greenwich Village food tour with Jonathan. We did the food tour first, on a cold and rainy afternoon. Jonathan was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history he shared with us, which we really appreciated. He was also very personable, and even walked us to the subway, pointing us in the right direction. We enjoyed ourselves, and truly learned a lot! Being a food tour though, we felt that the history took center stage, fine, since we love learning about the history of a place, but that would be my critique. The history didn’t always align or tie in with food, which I guess is fine, just think of it as a history tour, plus yummy food! The next day we did the walking tour with David, in the financial district. This was the highlight of our entire trip! We learned a great deal, and loved how knowledgeable David was! It ended up just the three of us, and he too was personable, knowledgeable and a great story teller! Don’t miss a chance to take a tour with Manhattan Walking tours!! We will definitely recommend to our friends, and reach out to both gentlemen when we return to the fabulous NYC! Thank you for all the great knowledge and memories!!

Annabel is great - would book again!
We had a great tour with Annabel! She was so knowledgeable & personable, and she kindly tailored the tour to our interests and pace (and the weather!). She even followed up our tour with an email detailing the specific spots and buildings we visited and answered some of our questions that she couldn't answer on the spot during the tour. Would definitely book another tour with Annabel and/or Manhattan Walking Tours when we come back.

Times Square, Hell’s Kitchen, & Central Park all is one day! Jonathan was great and very knowledgeable. This ended up being just a little long for my kids (11 & 13) but still glad we knocked out so much in one day!

Informative, interesting and personal - fantastic tour.
Highly recommend this tour, and specifically this company. Their customer service is exceptional. Dave was a wonderful guide. He was personable, knowledgeable and shared with us parts of the city that we would not have been able to discover on our own. He had a vast array of knowledge about the area - history, architecture, food, music and more. Our teenagers very much enjoyed the tour also.

NYC food tour was the Best!!
Great tour! Alex was our guide and provided A LOT of history about NYC. We toured the the theater district and learned the history of all the old theaters! It was super interesting. Then we started the food tour in the Hells Kitchen area. Sampled some great food! My favorite was the Breadboat. Highly recommend this tour and if you get Alex you will definitely have a great day and learn a lot.

We had a great tour with Claire! We very much enjoyed learning the history of the high line and Greenwich Village. Claire made the day fun, and I loved that she had a variety of information to share, making it enjoyable for myself, husband, and teenage daughter. The food was fantastic and a great way to learn about local restaurants! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting.

    Interesting, informative and enjoyable
This tour was highly informative and enjoyable. I learned how the architecture changed over time, both how and why. Very interesting. The tour guide was enthusiastic, personable and throughly knowledgeable. I had to leave the tour a bit early, due to a business engagement, and the guide followed-up with a personalized email describing to me the rest of the tour. That was certianly above and beyond.

    Hell's Kitchen Tour
We LOVED our tour. The food was truly a global event. We had food from a wide variety of locations, large servings, and all delicious. We learned a lot about the area, the history of the people who settled there and so much more. But my absolute favorite was Claire. She was the perfect tour guide. Knowledgeable, interesting, social, and funny. She made the tour!! We went in January and I was a little worried about the weather, which was cold, but this had plenty of stops inside, so no problem. Next time I go back I will be choosing another food tour and asking for Claire by name!

Best Guide and Walking Tour in NYC
Jake was our amazing guide for our terrific experience of seeing the highlights and learning the history of Brooklyn. He's simply the best tour guide I've experienced and I've done private tours all over the world. Friendly, excited, a walking encyclopedia of local history and little known facts, he seems thrilled to share what he knows.Walking over the Brooklyn Bridge was an unexpected thrill. It was the highlight of my week in NYC. Will book Jake again when I return and explore another neighborhood!

Annabel was a gem! So very personable and knowledgeable!! We were able to visit restaurants that we would not have chosen on our own and tasted some wonderful dishes in Hell’s Kitchen. Also, the Central Park tour was very informative and relaxing. Annabel was very accommodating to make sure we had arrangements to get back to our hotels or next desired locations. We had a very nice couple on the tour with us and enjoyed them very much. The small tour group made it extremely easy to hear our guide and to walk together. Great tour!

We had a very enthusiastic Claire taking us to fabulous haunts, giving us the local history, getting us to try food we would not necessarily have eaten before.
First stop was our meeting place the Bbq place, great fun, and so good we booked dinner there a couple of nights later. We went to a cookie shop, then somewhere to try something which can only be described as like a pizza filled with melted cheese with cheese on top , with a soup dumpling, then as obviously we were still hungry onto an italian meatball place to try two different ones (the chicken in buffalo sauce was yum) and now waddled up to a Mediterranean restaurant and a mezze platter..funnily enough a lot got left.. before we frankly rolled out.
Thank you Claire - highly enjoyable and thank you for entertaining us.

We did a food tour of Hell's Kitchen and then spent a beautiful couple of hours in Central Park. The restaurant stops were interesting and varied and gave us a good sense of the diversity of the neighborhood. Alex was great. He gave a lot of history about Hell's Kitchen and we got a good sense of how it has evolved. The people who were on the food tour with us did not continue to Central Park so we had a private tour with Alex. He had a great mix of knowledge and was open to all of our questions.
All and all a really nice afternoon!

We did the 2 hour Hells Kitchen walking and food tour. Jenn was our outstanding tour guide. She was was informative in giving much of the history of the area. The food choices were great, Indian Taco, a bakery, Japanese, meatballs and a mederterian selection. A little pricey compared to some other tours but we enjoyed it and will probably go back to some of the restaurants to eat.

Jenn was a great guide for our Hell's Kitchen tour with lots of interesting information and useful suggestions for our time in NYC. Plenty of food at each of 5 stops, and all of it good. Never would have expected a curry taco to taste so delicious.

We highly recommend this Hell's Kitchen tour, because Manhattan Walking Tours does an excellent job covering this region, which is packed with so many good restaurants.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to New York. The food was great, unique and filling. Claire was an awesome guide. She was an excellant storyteller of the history of Hell's Kitchen which was very interesting. And the stroll there Central Park was perfect to walk off all the excellant food. Thanks Claire for a great afternoon in New York

The Hell’s Kitchen part of the tour had amazing food and is great intro to the area if you’ve never been to Hell’s Kitchen like us. The food was incredible and we went back to some of the restaurants on our trip. We also loved the tour or Central Park tour. We had been to Central Park before but just walked around not knowing what to do. But on the tour we learned a lot about the plants, statues, and different areas of the park that was super interesting and not as many tourists know about. Nancy was a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide! We definitely recommend her and this tour!

The food tour and visit to Central Park was fun and informative. There's lots of food.....so start with an empty stomach! It was great to discover restaurants we would have never found on our own. Our guide Jonathan was very knowledgeable about NYC and offered a wealth of information about the city, both past and present. My only suggestion would be to carve out a little more time for questions and answers. Highly recommend!

The Hells Kitchen and Central Park tour was beyond amazing! We highly recommend taking this tour or really any other tour that this company offers. We went on 3 different tours with other companies and this was by far the best experience. This was our first tour on our 4 day extended weekend trip and Claire really set the bar high! She was the best friend that you hadn't seen in a while but it felt like no time had passed. She was so knowledgeable, friendly, personable and really showed us an enjoyable, informative and memorable time on our tour. The food was all delicious at the 5 stops that we made in Hells Kitchen. Claire also sent us an email afterwards with a list of the restaurants and the food that we indulged in at each place. (I found a recipe for imeruli khachapuri and I'm going to attempt to make it!) The Central Park part of the tour was also amazing! There is so much history there as well and it is amazing how HUGE the park actually is! Again, Claire filled our minds with endless knowledge as she took us back to days gone by. Thank you Manhattan Tours and a big thank you to Claire for helping make our vacation that much more memorable!

We were unsure which food tour to take and opted for the Hells Kitchen tour which was AWESOME.

Jake was our tour guide and he was full of historical information and we enjoyed the restaurant choices very much. We felt that the food sampling size and diverse restaurant choices were perfect. An added bonus was his connection to the neighborhood as people recognized him which made us feel very much at home.
I grew up in Staten Island but learned a lot from Jake.

Great job! We're looking forward to our next adventure with you.

And kudos to Hells Kitchen. Cool place.
