All these bike tours are great
A great tour with a great guide - Richard. I’d highly recommend any of these tours as a fun way to explore New York and some of the areas outside of Manhattan.

A great experience with fantastic guide
We did the Harlem tour with Bob Trenta as guide. A fantastic experience through various area of Harlem. Throughout the tour, Bob has given us a good understanding of Harlem and USA history with enthousiasm and passion. We did learn a lot from him. We chose to keep the bikes after the tour and went for a tour of Central park.

      Good bikes - rude staff
The bikes were ok, but the staff is very rude - them seem to just be after your money! Choose a different company!

Bikes were good service was not.
We used a pass to get the unlimited bike rental for the day. We were given all the usual paperwork to complete etc. The member of staff did not ask us where we planned to go or if we wanted a map. We did say we were planning on cycling around Central Park but he didnt even tell us the directions or best way to complete the cycle, being a local expert we felt he should have. The bikes were in good condition and well maintained. The staff who we returned the bikes to were also quite rude, one staff member basically grabbed the bike off my wife. Could do better with customer service...a lot better!!

Unfortunately, we noticed that the fee for bike rental would have been included in our New York Pass AFTER having paid the bill of more than 120 dollars for four bikes (3 hours plus insurance for bikes that have surely seen better days). Noticed "NY Pass" signs only when leaving the store and asked employee if we couldn't use our passes. He said we couldn't. When handing back the bikes at another Unlimited store three hours later we saw signs saying "NY passes accepted" and asked again why we couldn't have used the passes. Unlimited said of course we could have used them and that there must have been a "misunderstanding" at the first store. However, they refused paying us anything back since they "never do any refunds". As we had already paid they couldn't do anything about it. ???

Less of the hidden costs like insurance bike insurance
Was supposed to be free under the the city pass voucher.
Ended up costing us $114 dollars.
Fir 4 hrs two electric bikes plus 2 peddle bikes.
$10 dollars per hour per electric bike insurance.
We had bikes for 4 hrs.
A bit more clarity when you have visitors would be welcome.

But all in all the electric bikes were very handy
We done a circuit of Central Park in just over an hour.
Just be careful on the cycle tracks. Im sure there must be plenty crashes.

Seemed like a reputable place to rent.
Prices are a bit high (compared to other places) but it’s better to pay a bit more to ensure that you don’t have issues along the way … unless you rent there …
We had issues with 2 out of the 5 bikes. One had the gears not aligned which prevented from using half of them and kept on derailing …
The other one had the brakes completely used and barely working, had no bell, no side stand and the seat could not be adjusted …

A little much when you are paying a higher price to avoid issues …

Once we found the place (don’t search for the name on Google Maps as there are several companies with similar names within a mile of this one and you’ll wear yourself out before you even get your bike), we had a very good experience. Staff was very friendly and helmets and baskets were included in price (unlike the other 3 places we stopped at first). Returning the bikes was easy and again, the staff was very nice. Will definitely rent from them again next time!

They gave me a bike with a loose derailleur. It came off half way through the ride when I switched gears. I almost got thrown off and luckily jumped off just in time. When I was in the store, another person came in with a broken bike. It was scary to see them giving these dangerous bikes to families with kids.

To return the bike, I had to carry the bike on my shoulders for 5 blocks to get a cab at the nearest park exit. The front desk staff held my ID hostage until I paid the $76 fee to fix the bike. The corporate staff told me it was my fault for not noticing the issue earlier.

What is a customer to do, expect a good quality product? Try not to get injured on a defective product? Not having to pay for the defect? Just avoid this place.

Do not reserve bikes online. This does not guarantee you will get the bike you paid for. We reserved two e-bikes and when we arrived at the shop we’re told there were none left. It is first come first served even though you make a reservation. A refund was offered but can take 5 days to go back into your bank. We opted to have e-scooters instead. We also had the pay $200 deposit and leave a form of id which is a bit over kill in my opinion. Test your bike / scooter before you go to far from the shop. We walked the scooters to the park because I wasn’t confident driving on the road and when we started off into the park my husbands didn’t work so he had to walk it back to the shop to change it. All that being said once we were off driving around the park we had a great time. When returning the scooters our ID was returned without any issues.

Absolutely awful experience… pre booked .. when we arrived hundreds of people waiting for bikes.”you can wait or come back later” member of staff rudely told us .. so we walked away and came back in about half hour… hundreds of bikes turned up on the back of a lorry !! Still hundreds of people waiting.. one man standing behind counter… I assume he was taking payments… the other 100s of men in black staff were just playing with bikes NO ONE was riding bikes. We were not told anything about tours etc.. we walked off still awaiting refund… good luck with this crew guys!!!

Myself and my daughter (21yo) hired bikes from Unlimited Biking with our New York Pass. We are so glad we did. Cycling on the roads and in the crazy New York traffic did not appeal to us, but the serenity and calmness of the designated Cycle road around Central Park was an amazing experience for both of us as well as being a fantastic way to see so much more of this great park, whilst having fun. We felt entirely safe the whole time. Friendly and helpful staff in the shop were a great reassurance. If you have a NY Pass and maybe just have a spare couple of hours in a busy schedule, it’s so worth booking this.

Easy to get a rental bike and they were so nice. The online reservation site was simple to use. I do wish they would just include the insurance in the original quoted price instead of having to have it added on. But the bikes we got were great and well maintained. I’d recommend them!

Bikes were okay (one could have done with a good drop of oil to prevent squeaking from brakes) but our main gripe was with the plainly uninterested long haired main that served us on Sat 19th March. It seemed like he'd prefer to be anywhere else other than in the bike rental shop. As a couple who both work in hospitality we love to see good service but also feel very strongly about poor customer service and when things aren't up to scratch. Very unfriendly and just downright rude when asked very straightforward questions.
