    Night tour
So only thing was the guys trying to bug you to buy tickets all the time and say its only 19 dollars then to find out they add 10 dollars on top of the price 😆. So we done the night tour which left at times square you book your time we 20:30 it's a 90 minute trip around new york and across the bridge. I can't fault it it surprise me really enough it. Especially at night yes it was cold but what to expect in February. It was a non stop by the way no you can't hop on and off which I thought was a good idea for a night special. The lady doing the chatting on the mic was really down to eath explaining everything to us and telling us history of the city I didn't know, because we sat at top right at the back she always made sure we was ok due to it being cold.

    The tour was mid
The trip was okay. The tour took you around many places in nyc and Brooklyn but unfortunately the guide didn’t speak much on the landmarks.

    Great Holiday Lights Tour
We did this tour to see the holiday lights in NYC. It was a great way to get around the city in a short amount of time. My parents are older, so they would not have been able to walk to see everything. It was great!

Stay away from this company! Biggest con
This company is a rip-off! Paid usd144 per person for hop-on, hop-off, choice of over 100 sightseeing for 1 day. Long waits to get on bus, traffic slow and by the time you want to go to statue of liberty, waiting in line we were told, due to being so busy we were not allowed to use our voucher ( which the company knew about) then to world Trade Center tower to find out we can only use our voucher at 7.30pm, or pay more if we want to go at 5.30pm, still almost 3 hours away. Same drama at Empire State Building. This company should not sell this ticket during busy times as you are not able to see all the popular sightseeings. With all the traffic delays and getting to places we run out of time to see anything. So we only were able to do 3 trips with this bus for usd144 per person, which is the biggest con ever. We tried to talk to them but no refund! I will advise all my clients at travel agency in Australia not to use this bus company!

    Great trip with Santana
I think I was pretty lucky I got on a bus driven by Santana, she made the experience special. She did her job great. She shared a lot of local know how while placing safety of the passangers to the first place.

    Santana is the bomb! 💣
Santana was the best driver that we had. We got on her bus multiple times and she went above and beyond to make sure we knew what was around us and the history of NYC! She also was funny and had a great personality. Your other drivers were not as friendly and did not speak! Santana was the bomb!!!

Tour for ten year olds - sadly cr*p.
Had good experiences elsewhere but this was, sadly, cr*p. Earphone guide talked as if for a ten year old. It was mostly really bad music and occasionally voices would intervene to give more childish banter, usually after we’d gone past the site. Really awful - sorry. If you’re in NY, look elsewhere….

    Disappointed
Organisation was terrible nobody to explain where and when to get off the bus or which bus was needed we didn't get to any of our intended stops due to poor organisation and the lack of communication, the so called commentary about where and when attractions are was none existent, altogether very poor show and would not recommend to anybody it ends up being an expensive bus ride....

Our driver Santana made this trip memorable
Our driver Santana went above and beyond to explain, help and entertain! She kept us smiling despite the dreadful traffic and rain.

    Big Disappointment and Rude Staff
I’m a solo traveler and visited NYC last week. I had booked a sightseeing pass in which big bus tours was included. Before I went down to Big Bus, I visited Top of the Rock to book a times slot for that evening as it fills up quickly and was also included in my pass. After booking my slot, I went down to Big Bus. When the lady scanned my ticket, she told me I had to wait 45 minutes as I had just done an attraction. I tried explaining to her that no, I hadn’t done any attraction, I simply booked one for later. She pointed me in the direction of another staff member who might be able to help. When I went to this staff member I was disgusted at how I was treated. She wouldn’t give me the opportunity to explain. She told me she couldn’t do anything about it. Then she proceeded to take out her phone and start texting her friends while I was standing confused right in front of her. I understand that there may be nothing they can do about it but there are better ways of explaining that and treating customers. She then proceeded to ignore me standing there until I had to walk away. Despite this interaction, I decided to take the tour later on that day. The tour was prerecorded and shockingly bad. The jokes were dated and not funny. I had to keep taking the headphones out because it was just too irritating. The audio wasn’t synced to our location. It would often tell us to “look left to see a certain building” when we were actually 5 minutes away from said building. There are also very few stops on the tour so you are limited in where you can get off. All in all, this was a massive disappointment and the biggest waste of time. You would be much better off doing a tour of the locations yourself, or booking individual tours with different companies. Do not waste your time or your money here!

    Dont do it
Terrible, after taking this tour with greyline several years ago which was first class with live interesting commentary this could not have been more opposite. Big bus commentary is recorded with little information and really a waste of time at $80usd per person for 4 people. Most of the tour was spent on terrible recorded commentary, very little relevant information with time spent instead on inane jokes, New York music clips and stupid quizzes between the 3 spokespeople. Absolute waste of time and money, very dissapointed.

On the first morning of our visit, Christopher A approached us and gave us a great deal as we were here for 5 days. He helped make our decision to pick Big Bus, walked us to the first stop - thank you :)

The loops have been pretty good, just allow lots of time for traffic. We have had 4 tour guides so far, 3 have been amazing!!! Kevin S. provided so much more than the regular tour information, with lots of extra tips on where to see famous movie sights and great places to eat - he was incredible, I hope we can catch him again. We had to other great guys on the Upper Manhattan Loop yesterday, there were not many people in the bus but they made it engaging , interesting, and helpful (I cannot remember their names)! Overall, I would highly recommend Big Bus, do your research on prices and see what deals they can do for you on the street :) Very clean buses, friendly guides and drivers, would go with Big Bus again :)

Bus tour was great, however purchased additional tickets to the 911 museum and was told when we arrived for the bus tour that the museum was booked that day and we would not be able to go. Why sell tickets if there is no availability. Have been requesting a refund of the additional cost of the 911 museum tickets for over a month and have been given the run around...no number to call just a chat message thru the website. .Beware......make sure if you purchase additional tickets thru the big bus tours website for another attraction that there is availability because if there isn't you will probably be out the money....

If you go to New York in December or January don’t bother doing a hop on hop off unless your prepared to freeze in the cold on top of the bus. We took the southern route from Times Square intending to go down to the world trade centre memorial in the afternoon of December 20. The bus we ended up on was a nightmare to say the lease! When we got to battery park all passengers were told that Battery park would be the last stop and anyone who wanted to go elsewhere was to get off and get a public bus. We were also told that the bus would now be express back to Times Square and that there would be no stops on the east side. By this point it was FREEZING cold and getting dark. We finally managed to get one of the handful of seats down stairs. The bus then did a detour past Bryant Park. We asked to get off as we had definitely had enough. They flatly refused to let us off the bus again reiterating that it would be express to Times Square. A few blocks from Times Square next a building site on a relatively dark section of the street the bus stopped abruptly and told everyone to get off and pointed everybody in the direction of Times Square and were told we could walk the rest of the way. We had planned to do the night tour starting at 6pm but did not bother. Not Happy about this experience at all!! Don’t say I did not warn you. Save your money and don’t do it. Walk, use the subway, Taxi or Uber - but no hop on bus.

Good Afternoon Deb W, While the top level is partially covered, we always encourage passengers to dress for the cold weather. We would like to further investigate, as we monitor service in hopes to prevent unnecessary issues. Please email us at infony@bigbustours.com with details of your experience and a copy of your ticket. Please know when we do have changes, while staff should be informing you of any, our website or app under “service information" inform passengers of detours and closures. As for refusal of departure, due to safety reason, all buses must stop at designated stops only. We only have route changes or cancellations, set upon us by the Department of Transportation and we follow all rules and regulations. With that in mind, we appreciate your feedback as, we are always looking for ways to improve our services. Kind Regards, BBTNY

Don't believe their cancellation policy! In January, we bought tickets for four, with one attraction, to tour in April. We are in our mid-seventies. In March, we canceled the tour and have sent several requests for a refund. They refuse....the only operator in NY to refuse our cancellation/refund request.

We got the three day hop on hop off including the night tour, and it was worth every penny. The tour is a great way to see the sights and our tour guide was Jay Hawk who was a great host with loads of interesting information and the driver was Mr Rasheed.
You can get on and off when you want the usual wait is only about 10 mins between tours.
The night tour is defiantly worth doing as the skyline at night is amazing once again we had Jay so it was a very enjoyable experience. Dean the nighttime supervisor was a really helpful and friendly guy and led by example . All the team members were professional and knew ther jobs and did them to the best of there ability to ensure every passenger had a great trip.
Thanks guys we look forward to seeing you all again on our next trip.

Do not recommend. Hassle. The Uptown blue line is NOT hop on hop off. It’s only start & stop is at #16, in front of the Olive Garden at 42nd St & Broadway. It’s a 1 hour trip. Audio tour was good on this line.
The red downtown bus can be hopped on next door to above blue line from Olive Garden in front of the Knickerbocker Hotel (stop #16).
If you hop off red line to see a few sights, you may have to walk a long ways to hop back on a bus at different location, depending on where you walked. Not to mention waiting for a bus that may never come. This is what happened with me. Walked a mile to get to stop on red line, arriving at 5:30 pm but no more buses. The 2020 brochure needs to be improved/updated. The app was confusing. Could not figure out time of last bus at a stop. Buses were shown on the line but frozen in place. /Fortunately, the guys selling tours on the street were very helpful finding the start of the uptown route (stop #16) as brochure not clear. / The yellow, green, and purple lines were not working. /The most prevalent hop on hop off bus in Manhattan is currently the TopViewny.com bus, thus recommend TopView. The Grayline hop on hop off is not operating. Please know, if you buy the NY Sightseeing Pass (which I do not recommend), the Big Bus hop on hop off is good for only 1 day.

We got on the bus around 11:15 AM on 2/19/20, my hotel (Aliz Hotel Times Square) recommended that me and my colleagues (Bellman) go on this tour to learn better about the city. The gentleman Baynes made our ride 100% better. He was a very nice man , clear when he spoke , and definitely knew his history on New York. He taught us a lot of buildings we didn’t know of and had a great personality when doing so. Great Job Baynes. Would definitely recommend Big Bus Tours to tourists coming from other countries. Even if you don’t understand a word of English , it is a nice ride with nice views of the city. Would especially go in the summer time because once you get next to Chelsea piers and you are on the top row you will be FREEZING! Other than that everything was great and Baynes taught my bellman a lot that they didn’t know.

Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience with big bus. We purchased our tickets ahead of time thinking that would help us. It made no difference. When we got to the first stop, the man selling tickets on the street gave us a hard time for not buying tickets from him. Then we waited over an hour at the stop and watched as full buses passed by without allowing any more passengers to board (meanwhile, the competitors seems to have no problems accommodating their patrons). We decided to walk 5 blocks to the next nearest stop and try to board there but encountered the same problems. We tried one more stop, and again waited over an hour with no bus to board. I tried contacting the company for a refund, but was told it’s the busy season and no refunds were offered and that we should have expected he long wait times. When you’re trying to see NY in a day on a hop-on-hop-off bus, it’s hard to do when you waste 3 hours waiting and never even get to a bus.

Good Morning klc3z, We are saddened to hear your experience was interrupted due to full buses and experiencing longer than expected wait times. We always plan ahead and provide more than enough buses for our guests to enjoy their stay in New York and we extend our sincerest apologies this was not your experience. It is not our intention for our guests to leave New York with a not so memorable experience and we would love the opportunity to make turn this experience into a positive one. When you have a moment we ask if you can please email us at infony@bigbustours.com and we hope this one experience does not deter you from riding with Big Bus in the future. Sincerely, BBTNY

I booked my tour online and arrived with my family the following day at the first stop to see a line stretching 2 city blocks with Big Bus staff telling us that the wait time would exceed well over an hour to board a bus. I was appalled that they over-sell their service so aggressively. I requested a refund, and have had no luck, despite a customer service representative informing me that "this is not the kind of experience we aim to provide". I feel like Big Bus has now disappointed me twice, and they have taken advantage of me as a tourist in NYC.

Hello, I would like to apologize for your family's experience with our tour during the busy holiday week. Although we tried to plan ahead by adding extra buses to our routes, we did have unavoidable delays. We promise we are working hard to improve this for the future and are very sorry if you had to wait longer than usual. If you did not redeem your tickets, please reach out to ReserveNY@bigbustours.com with your order details so we can look into this further for you.

Deborah and Kevin were excellent guides.
I highly recommend to take a 2-3 days toor to really discover the city, including the cruise.
They're very knowledgeables.
However, the organization needs some improvements, such as:
- Update at every time the working stops (we waited for 1h30min at stop 17 of uptown tour and 2 busses passed without stopping. Turns out the stop was cancelled and neither the app or the maps reflected it.
- Brookling tour: including Dumbo a Williamsburg would be a plus.

Thank you so much!
