If you enjoy tequila or are new to tequila tasting, this guided tour is a fantastic choice. My daughter took us on the tour for Father’s Day, and it was a fabulous experience. You’ll learn about the best tequilas from a seasoned expert, including how they are made and what to look for when tasting. It’s a highly personal experience unlike any other adventure. Nate, our personal guide, is one of the most knowledgeable connoisseurs of fine tequila I’ve ever met.

The walking tour through Old Town San Diego covers about two miles and takes most of the afternoon to complete. We stopped at three restaurants, including the world famous El Agave Tequileria, where we sampled five excellent tequilas, a Sangrita chaser, and enjoyed some awesome fish tacos. My wife and I have already recommended this tour to our close friends and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area looking for something different and fun to do.

I am so glad that I went ahead with this tour with Nate again, I had such an incredible, memorable time on this adventure in the delightful city of San Diego. To say that Nate was educated and informed about tequila and all the aspects involved with it would be an understatement. Nate was helpful and polite the entire time, a really polite dude with a very welcoming demeanor. I was able to learn and gain so much awareness of this beverage and am grateful for that. The entire experience was so much fun and so enjoyable as well with the beautiful views and scenery. Even the food at the restaurant we went to was absolutely delectable at the Tequila Factory, and the whole staff was so nice and professional. I know there are a lot of activities to do in San Diego, including a lot of other great tours, but go ahead and book this now and add this to your 'to-do' list while here, you will be happy you did. I wasn't exactly the biggest tequila drinker beforehand, but I wanted to try something different and this was such a one of a kind and amusing experience that I now am going to be ordering it much more often. Just realizing the quirks of how it is made and all the different types and ways it is prepared was mind-boggling and informative. Learning about all the great culture and history of Old Town SD was also such a memorable aspect of it all. Make sure to be camera-ready since you'll definitely have a whole bunch of terrific pictures to share with your family and friends as Nate has some photography skills. The pace of the tour is perfect, not too fast or slow, so you get to take it all in and truly enjoy what's going on along with the others in the group. Going on this solo or in a group would be perfect either way due to how it is arranged, you'll enjoy it regardless. Nate was very patient with all the questions and various random statements as I was trying to get myself acquainted, he went way above and beyond anything required to provide an absolutely incredible event. We had a warm welcome at each location as Nate was on great terms with everyone at these establishments, which in turn made the visits have a totally relaxed vibe. After the tour he took the time to provide a very helpful breakdown of where we went and the drinks we tried, it was so useful but I don't want to divulge too much since I'm sure it is best to experience everything first hand. The fact that this is a walking tour makes it even better, so you can keep an active pace and obviously call an Uber/Lyft as needed. I was trying to think of anything that could be improved, or that went wrong, or that I disliked in any way and literally couldn't come up with one single thing to put here... Everything was exceptional, I had an unbelievably enjoyable time, Nate is one of the most courteous and friendly people I've ever met, and I give his tour a perfect five stars across the board on all counts and agree with all the others below with their positive reviews on this experience.

Had a great time trying new restaurants and tequilas. Nate was both extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the history of and different types of tequila. Five stars easy, would DEFINITELY recommend!

Fun and informative. Nate took his time and even helped us celebrate a birthday! He even recommended a great restaurant that we ate at that evening after the tour.

Oh...so you think you know tequila since you swiped that añejo from your parent's stash under the sink twenty years ago and that's all you drink in your margaritas ever since? Well Willy Wonka meme face tell me again how you only drink top shelf, etc., etc. ad nauseum...

It's true you may know a thing or two about tequila... but it's not highly likely you're going to complete this tour without learning something new. Not only is Nate knowledgeable about the process, from tequila terroir to the how and why of bottling- but, even better, he's great with questions... even challenging ones! He's passionate about tequila! Seriously, this gentleman takes tequila... seriously.

Can you take this tour and have a good time and just enjoy this tour without feeling like you have to take a quiz at the end? Hell yeah. Can you take this tour at any level from newbie to connoisseur and learn something new if that's your jam? Absolutely!

We went as a couple, just because we had the weekend free. We had the pleasure of company on our tour- a couple who were celebrating a birthday. Shout out to Lisa and Lupe! This activity would also be great for singles to groups of any size, for any reason. Thanks, Nate!

Do you think you know everything about tequila since you stole the añejo from under your parents' sink twenty years ago and it's the only thing you drink in your margaritas ever since? Willy Wonka meme face, amix, tell me again how you only drink "top shelf", etc., etc.

It's true that you may know a few things about tequila... but you probably don't know more than Nate - even if you're Mexi, from the state of Jalisco - on this tour, you're going to learn something new. Not only does Nate know the process, from the terroir of tequila to the hows and whys of bottling, but even better, he's great with questions... even challenging ones! He is passionate about tequila! Seriously, this man takes tequila... seriously.

Can you take this tour, have a good time, and just enjoy it without feeling like you have to pass a test at the end? O mai gath, yaaaasss. Can you take this tour at any level, from novice to skilled, and learn something new if that's what turns you on? Absolutely!

My partner and I went, we had the weekend off. We had the pleasure of having company on our adventure: a couple who were celebrating a birthday. Shout out to Lisa and Lupe! This activity would also be ideal for singles and groups of all sizes and for any reason. Thanks, Nate!
