Really bad experience unfortunately and badly run business. I recommend finding a different company to go with, there are much better options. They canceled on me twice last minute during my week long visit to San Diego. That meant I wasn’t able to have an experience I was really looking forward to while I was there and I was beyond disappointed. Be warned that even if you sign up months in advance, you are likely going to be canceled on.

Went to this store because they have a good selection of wetsuits that are available in store, and I wanted to get one the same day. The people running the store were extremely kind and helpful and I am happy with my purchase of a Cressi 5mm. I technically arrived just a few minutes before closing hour but they stayed until around 15 minutes after just to help me. Very friendly, good selection, good pricing. Great overall experience. Store is 10/10

It was lousy. We went to the location and they were closed and a shut off notice was on the door. Later got an email stating the weather was not appropriate for snorkeling and wanted us to reschedule which was not feasible and we did not get a refund for 6 individuals.

SCAM! DO NOT BUY!!! The company, La Jolla Water Sports, is out of business or maybe was never in business. But the store front is abandoned. The phone number goes straight to voice-mail, which is full, so you can't leave a message or ask for clarification, and I tried calling multiple times on different days. My emails also went unanswered. There's no one to reach about getting a refund, so now I'll have to call TripAdvisor. We spoke with another family, also waiting at the "store front" for someone. They booked directly through the company website and even received a reminder email of their appointment. No one showed for them either. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere. I wish I had.

This company scams people out of their money. They have a website, but the business is locked down. Purchased a $100 gift card online and when the recipient attempted to use it the owner ducked her and promised he would take care of it in trade. Owner appears to simply take people's money through his website, providing nothing in return. Business looks closed. I would caution everyone not to provide any credit card information or buy and gift cards through any online services. Please beware and take a look at trip Recent trip advisor reviews.

Buyer beware. The address is wrong on the meetup place. I paid for cab , got there, and no one was there to meet us. Tried calling for 3 hours during the time we were supposed to be having our excursion. No one answers phone. Still trying to get my refund and it put a real damper on my vacation. You would think they would have called since they had my money to see where I was. I see that someone else had the same experience. .

Didn’t even get to go. Most confusing information and where to meet. No details whatsoever. This is not ran through La Jolla Cove and Cave rentals!!! Do not call them. Call La Jolla Water Sports.

We booked a snorkeling tour. Went to the meeting point at the right time. Nobody was there. We peeked inside. There was snorkeling equipment, alright. Bit everything looked quite dusty and abandoned. There was a lot of mail on the floor like nobody’s been there in a while. We waited for more than thirty minutes. We tried to call, but it went to voicemail—and not a professional at that. We couldn‘t leave a message, because the voicemail was full. We finally left without equipment or tour. Hoping for a refund.

Booked on get your guide, they didnt show, didn't call, the shop was closed when we arrived, and they wouldn't answer any of our calls. Don't book.

They didn’t show up. Didn’t answer their phone after several attempts for over the course of the two days leading up to the tour. This company is no longer in business. Very disappointed:/

The guide was nice but the waves were too rough. We were never going to the cove or the caves that day and they didn't tell us until we got there. Our group couldn't make it out safely and we were not offered even a partial credit.

The tour guide Jack is really great. There were 4 of us out with him and he made sure we were safe at all times. I’m from Southern California and he knew so much local information that I wasn’t aware of. It’s a really amazing experience and I’ll be going again in the summer.

Booked snorkeling adventure through Groupon. LJWS called us the day prior to move our excursion to earlier. I said I can't leave work to go snorkeling, they changed it anyway. The guide took us to the ocean and within 3 minutes of being in the water we were told to get back to shore because the tire changed. Full disclosure I understand they are not responsible for a surge in tides nor do I blame them for that. After 5 minutes we were pulled out of a riptide by lifeguards. When we got back to the shop the woman seemed pretty bothered that we had a bad time, not apologetic or sympathetic just bothered. The direct quote we got was"Sorry your experience wasn't positive". They tried to get us to come back although it was our last day in town. We decided not to let it ruin our trip and upon returning home we called to discuss a refund. We left a voicemail and got no return call We got a live representative who said their manager would call us back again no call. So the conclusion were left to draw is we paid $110 to go swimming in the Pacific Ocean in a used wetsuit before almost dying in a riptide. To his credit, our tour guide was nothing short of friendly, observant, attentive, professional, and most importantly, vigilant in trying to help us in the riptide. TLDR: they changed our trip time without our consent or knowledge, we didn't see any caves or anything we paid for, and have received zero contact from ownership. Imagine almost dying in an ocean riptide and having that not be the worst experience of dealing with someone. That's La Jolla Water Sports.
