Our host was great - she really got into character and was very knowledgeable.
The tour trolley was very comfortable and was a good mix of riding and on-foot exploring. Old Town San Diego may have been our favorite place.

Morti the Mortician was our guide, and he was extremely knowledgeable in the dark alleys of San Diego history. The small tour groups allowed for a more personal experience, and the time length of 1.5 hours was perfect. Thank you again!
Ps, don’t get on the trolley if you don’t have a sticker. Two unfortunate souls joined our tour midway and were booted at the halfway point. It was awesome.

Spent the long Labor Day weekend in San Diego, as we do every year, and this year we decided to take the Ghost & Gravestones Tour. We have done the Hop On & Hop Off tour with the Trolley Company several times, so we knew that we wouldn't be disappointed with this tour offered through them.
We boarded our trolley at 8:30 with our hosts Irene Amy Strong & Wyatt Earp. It was explained before hand by "Amy" that this tour was more informational/historical than scary, but taking it after dark did add a bit of a scary element.
This tour was approximately 1.5 hrs in length, possibly shorter since we weren't able to go into our next to last stop at the Whaley House (tented for termites), but we didn't feel as though it was dragged out.
Very informative so if you like history, as ghost stories, this tour is right up your alley!

This tour definitely is not worth the $40 we paid for it. Our guide couldn't get the name of Pioneer Park correct, kept losing his train of thought, and would talk while walking so only those closest to him could hear. I recommend looking into any of the other ghost tours in the Old Town area.

Gravedigger Dave was a delight! Good personality to command a crowd and hold attention, understood the wants of crowds to wonder off and photograph for a bit. Open to questions. Very fun tour, great info, great entertainment. Entertaining and educational.

Our bus tour included Pioneer park, El Campo Santo cemetary and the Whaley house. At Pioneer park learned how the grave stones were moved from the burial grounds to the edge of the park. Really interesting history. The original El Campo Santo cemetery extended into what now is a street. On the side walk there are medallions where the graves have been covered by cement. The Waley house is full of artifacts and the guides tell about its history.

Our tour guide was a school teacher ghost by the name of Mary Chase Walker....I remember, because I tipped her $20, she was THAT good. She made the entire experience fun, entertaining, AND educational. As a native San Diegan, I learned stuff about Pioneer Park and the graveyard in Old Town...as well as original San Diegans that I never knew about.
I highly recommend this tour....and hopefully, you'll get to meet Mary Chase Walker yourselves. :)

I love Old Town San Diego. I was in town visiting my daughter so we went on this tour on a Saturday with some of her friends. The tour guide was so funny and very nice. I am a lover of history so this tour was perfect for me. We lived the tour through the eyes of a 15 year old school teacher who came to San Diego in the 1800's. We heard about people and events that gave San Diego it's mysterious charm. Because the tour took place at night, walking through grave yards in the dark was exciting.

Confused about ticket activation. Received notice that I was checking in too early for tour at 9:15pm on my phone and ticket screen shot also says “valid for 2/16/20”. Didn’t see anyone to start tour. No one identified themselves, ended up leaving. I’m completely disappointed and I’ve taken two trolley tours on two other trips and wanted to share my trolley experience with family & friends on future visits but now I don’t know

My daughter and I took this tour last week. I was visiting from out of town and we wanted to do something different. What a great time we had! ‘Gravedigger’ Dave was very knowledgeable on the history of the area and he tells a great story! We thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I was able to grab a couple pictures at Pioneer Park that resemble a face. You be the judge!
