We went to Legoland a few days prior to Thanksgiving and we stayed at the Legoland hotel. If you are not local to the area, I would recommend staying at the Legoland hotel because it makes the entire experience complete. Our girls are 4 and 6 and the park is just the right size to be able to get to everything in 2 days (factoring in the crowd). The kids had a blast. Their favorite rides were Captain Cranky, Ninjago, Splash Battle, and the submarine (in the aquarium). I grew up with Lego and It was so cool to see all the Lego models. Since it was fall, the water park was closed. The aquarium was great and I love how they made learning about sea life fun. There were tons of exhibits plus an area where you could touch various things. The food was reasonable everything we ate was really good. Also, I would install the Legoland app which gives updates on the wait times for the attractions. I would recommend looking for deals for the tickets. I was able to get discount tickets via discount program at my job. Overall it was the experience of the hotel and the park that made it great for us.

Get here early and bring sunscreen amd refillable water bottles. You can also bring in baby food, as it's allowed under the park's rules.
I highly recommend buying the refillable souvenir cup for $16.99 online. You can refill it an unlimited amount of times during your visit. You refill it at any of the 5 Coke Freestyle kiosks in the park. It was a great change from water for my 4 person family.
Lots to do at the park for all ages! We got here right at opening, as did many other young families. Most of the rides had 30 minute or shorter waits. The lego land app is great for getting around, locating bathrooms, restaurants, etc.
It was expensive, but my kids loved it so it was worth it.

My kiddos (16m and almost 4) had an absolute blast. I didn’t expect to stay the duration of the day, but we did! We spent about 4 hours doing legoland rides and lunch, 4 hours doing the waterpark and dinner, built some mini figurines and then finished the day at the aquarium. We never waited more than 15min for anything, most lines being a 5-10min wait.
My 16 month old wasn’t able to do many rides, but loved splashing around at the waterpark and LOVED the aquarium. My almost 4 year old loved everything, but I think the waterpark, Lego building and shopping for toys with grandma was her favorite.
I’d highly recommend if you have a kiddo over 40inches. I’ll probably wait to go back until my son is a but older so he can enjoy it too.
The one annoying thing was getting into the parking lot. It appeared people had way too much trouble scanning the pre paid parking QR codes to open the gate. Would be helpful if staff just manually scanned to move the lines along as well as have separate lines for pre paid / not yet paid.

First they get you with a $25.00 parking fee. They only had 3 people to process new members ( this was on a holiday weekend so seems like they should have been geared up for heavy crowds ) After an hour & 20 minutes we got in. It’s “cute” and if you’ re a lego nut it is amazing what can be made with Legos. But they are getting old and faded then they stick some new bright clean pieces in and they really stick out. After an hour of looking at the Legos you’ve seen enough. It really is a park geared for kids 5- 10 yr olds. They need more benches for tired kids and parents to rest on. We couldn’t even find a place to sit when we bought lunch. Mid afternoon went to ice cream place for a treat, they were out of ice cream flavors, latte machine out of order couldn’t get a Brownie Sundae they had a “Today’s Special” sign for because they were out of brownies. So crowded only got on three attractions. The aquarium is nice but of course it’s extra. The park in my opinion has very limited appeal for a small age group. Think the SD Zoo & Sea World are better “Family” Maybe we just had a bad day..... but I still think on a whole Legoland is too pricey for what you get and the limited age group appeal. If you have older kids who are hoping for thrill rides this is not the park to go to.

Hello Gramgra,
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate hearing from our Guests.
We understand that the Park has been very busy and all eight windows on the outside and the processing tent were open over the Holiday weekend to accommodate our new members. We do apologize however that your wait time was longer than anticipated.
As a first time visitor and now a Pass Member, it is concerning to us that your experience left with some disappointment. While any Holiday can bring larger crowds to the Resort thereby resulting in long lines, the conditions you experienced are not our standard and we will take this opportunity to learn how we can improve the experiences.
We are currently in the process of expanding our Resort attractions, and we hope that your future visits will be more positive ones. If they aren't, don't hesitate to speak with a staff member during your visit and give us an opportunity to make it right.
We value your membership and thank you again for sharing your experience.

"Brutally inefficient" was how one family next to us at the water park described the lines throughout the park, and I couldn't agree more. Expect long lines of at least 30-45 minutes (on a Monday). Some rides are very slow to load people (hello Unikitty ride)...not sure why. We got there at 10 am (open) and rode 4 rides which took us until 3 pm. We sat down for 30 minutes for lunch. From 3-6 pm, we visited the waterpark. The Waterpark was fun and very welcome after standing in the heat in long lines with a 5 and 7 year old. CA was totally open at the time, so there were no restrictions that may have slowed things down. It's too bad because there is a lot to do at the park and it is fun. If the park was open 2 hours later it would have been perfect for a 1 day visit. But otherwise I feel like it's really overpriced for what you get. There is an option to skip the wait on the lines, but it's really expensive, especially after paying more than $400 already for the day.

We stayed in San Diego so it was a 45 min drive to LegoLand. We purchased the Park + SeaLife package. $275 for one adult and one child. The waterpark is closed until next week. We arrived at 9:35 on Tuesday 3/15. We waited in line for over an hour to enter the park. When we entered the park we found out many rides and food locations were closed. With many rides and food locations closed, we waited in excessive lines that were unnecessary for the price paid. Many parents and children were complaining in lines saying LegoLand has gone downhill and they will not be making this trip in the future and I agreed with them. I also found out the employees with green shirts are not actually LegoLand employees and they made sure to let you know once they took your $20 for 8 games, it’s a Tuesday special they said. When your child wins in 2 tries you can give the remaining 6 to random people because your child cannot win twice although you already paid for 8 tries. They don’t tell you all the rules up front and they are not posted. My son and I have been to LegoLand several times and the only positive thing I have to say about our experience yesterday was that you can request having things you purchase throughout the park be taken to the front so you do not have to hold them all day long. That was great but you had to find an employee in a red shirt that actually wanted to help. I found them inside store locations. Employees at the front of rides were not helpful. Overall two thumbs down LegoLand and we will not be back. It is a bummer because LegoLand has been a yearly spring break tradition for us since my son was four and he will be 12 next month. 👎👎.. CA gas at $6.50 plus 45 min drive X2 with a crappy $275 experience. I will be sure to let all my AZ friends know to skip LegoLand.

Legoland was a little less than what I expected. For the holiday weekend, we booked a beach house in Mission and decided to take our younger kids to Legoland and the Waterpark for the day, we could've saved the fuel, our time and money by staying at the beach. The wait times for rides were ridiculous and the only way to get around that was to purchase a reserve n ride ticket but once you actually got on the rides, they don't measure up compared to other places. The prices of the tickets is more than Disneyland and this is certainly no Disneyland! The Waterpark itself looks great on the surface but they were short lifeguards so wait times were absurd and half of the activities were closed. This is a place you go once, with kids less than 5 and while we didn't stay at the hotel, I couldn't imagine spending more than one day at this park. Overall, we had a good time seeing our kids laugh and smile but they had way more fun at the beach so I say save your money or spend it going to the most magical place on earth!

While my family and I love Lego, Legoland California is way to busy and the ride capacity is too small to hand the crowds. We only rode 8 rides in the 8 hours (open 10am to 6pm) we visited. The most popular rides had more than 60 minute waits. You can purchase a premium pass that doubles admission price, but not really worth it for the quality of the rides (many are very dated).

Hello Musselman1,
Thank you for your feedback! We are currently in our Spring Break season so we are seeing larger than normal crowds that result in longer wait times across the Resort. If you visit during our off season our crowds are lighter, and we hope you can visit at this time for a better experience!

We visited during the offseason just before the COVID-19 quarantine began. Nearly one-half of the rides, exhibits, etc. were closed. Of course, the park still charged us the full price, which was more than Disneyland, despite having only 50% of the park available for us.

Don't waste your time. Overcrowded & grossly overpriced. Line wait times were 45mins - 1.5 hours which is a really long time for little children. There were also huge lines and wait times for limited unhealthy food options. We left exhausted and disappointed. I can think of much better ways to spend $500 on a family day out.
A $25 parking fee on top of ticket fees is in fact infuriating.

Hi, how much does a ticket plus hotel package cost for two nights? And will it be cheaper to purchase them separately or together?
Written July 8, 2024
Honestly their prices change constantly. We did a package deal with Legoland Hotel/park for 2 days and got a good deal at Black Friday.
Written July 29, 2024
hello! Does this 1 day ticket include admission to LegoLand Amusement Park & the Water Park?
Written August 20, 2021
It depends you have to get the hopper. If you buy the ticket at the gate, let them know you like to go to the water park if you buy it online or third-party vendor such as AAA, Make sure the ticket says water park. But all tickets at the minimum will get you into the amusement park.
