About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Frugal P0 contributionsBeware of the sassy racist with the glasses!BEEARE: There is a very rude young lady of Mexican decent, with glasses working there. She has a very sassy mouth and does not appear to like certain AMERICANS. I will be contacting corporate about her lack of customer service, with her condescending tone. I had one of my AA friends with me, and they seemed to be watching her. She was the only AA in the store and probably spent more money than anyone in that store (6 large bags). I did not appreciate the way that the girl treated her.Written May 29, 2023
- Shawn J0 contributionsShopping dayGreat shopping area and had all the stores we wanted to go to. Plan to spend 4-5 hours if you are a shopperWritten May 25, 2022
- London444440 contributionsCancelled last minute, no professionalismTour confirmed soon after booking and then cancelled last minute. Tried calling and emailing company immediately after booking and then later through Viator to reconfirm booking, but the people who work at this company were MIA. Other companies have the professionalism to contact you before confirming tours. No alternatives given just tough luckWritten September 12, 2020
- snlaidlaw0 contributionsSaw lots of places but learned very little. If you need a driver from point A to point B, this driver will get you there. However if you want to learn anything of detail about the areas you are driving through beyond the obvious, then this is not the tour for you. Real knowledge of the area history seemed lacking, unfortunately. However a handout of information is provided. So, as a driver yes. As a tour guide, no!Written November 8, 2019
- lesliecola0 contributionsBest way to sample San Diego Highlights Within 4 HoursThe 4 hour tour of San Diego with Roxane was awesome! Roxane is engaging and knowledgeable of area. Especially liked the amount of time spent at each stop. Would highly recommend this tour🏖Written October 31, 2019
- Jeff41900 contributionsRamshackle OperationPathetic. I signed up for a beer tour yesterday, and paid. Today, i get a text saying "Sorry, we're overbooked and have to cancel your tour." In other words...tuff $hit buddy, good luck finding something else. We've got all we need. Sucks for you! My parents are visiting from Chicago and i scheduled the whole day around this. Now i have to waste time finding something else to do when i should be enjoyong their company. They didnt even offer a discount on a future date, or assistance finding an alternate program. What a joke these guys are. Good luck getting what you paid for if you roll the dice with this company.Written June 28, 2019
- Mark0620170 contributionsGreat TourIt’s always better to let someone else do the driving while you are sightseeing. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and informative. We stopped at several places and had a great time.Written May 5, 2019
- Bookaroo20140 contributionsDefinitely worth it!Roxanne was our guide and she couldn’t have been more pleasant and gracious. This despite the fact that the tour was not full (Easter Sunday). She brought everyone on the tour “a welcome gift”- bag of water and snacks. She was so charming and knowledgeable that we would definitely go on one of her tours when we go back! There are a few slightly cheaper tours but this one was definitely worth the extra few dollars. We saw several highlights, she gave us great recommendations for our remaining days in San Diego- which we did and loved! We would recommend doing this tour on your first day in the city to “get a great overview and a small taste of San Diego”. Thanks Roxanne!Written April 28, 2019
- KTREngland0 contributionsFabulous tour!Booked this tour for our first morning in San Diego, so glad we did! Roxane greeted us in a modern clean mini van and showed us the main sites of this wonderful city. Roxane was of full of energy, and enthusiasm, and delivered lots of useful and interesting information in friendly relaxed fashion. Stops were well positioned throughout the tour, and included La Jolla, Mt Soledad, Coronado, Old Town, Little Italy, Gas Lamp and Balboa Park, and gave an appropriate amount of time to explore each location. If you’re thinking of taking a tour in San Diego you can’t go wrong with this one!Written February 17, 2019
- kimpossible0070 contributionsExcellent Tour and Awesome Guide! This was our first visit to San Diego and this tour was an absolute highlight despite the cold and rainy day. I’m so happy we booked with this tour group. The mid-size coach bus was very clean and comfortable and Roxann was so warm, friendly, welcoming and highly informative. Definitely well worth the price.Written February 2, 2019
- Matt M0 contributionsAwesome and personal! After booking for myself and fiancée I was told we needed a party of 6 or more, or for a little extra they could do the tour just the two of us. I thought about cancelling it however am so happy we did it anyway!! Before the tour our guide Roxanne reached out to let us know the exact time and where to meet her. The day of she was right on time! She made us feel very welcome and was great to talk with. She had alot of suggestions as to what we should taste at each winery. She made the experience one to remember! The only thing I wished for was more time!Written June 15, 2018
- skinnygirl1400 contributionsOutstanding!!!I was so amazed. Some of the winerys are as good as Napa/Sanoma. I kid you not. I had no idea the wines now rival bay area wineries. The people were knowledgable who poured the wines and they made the experience ever so plesantWritten April 23, 2018
- Dime260 contributionsSuperb City IntroBooked through Viator and had the pleasure of Mike as our guide / driver for the 4 hour tour of San Diego. Easy communications with the company prior to the tour confirming pick up locations etc., great comfortable, modern clean vehicle to be driven around in for 4 hours. Highly recommend this tour to give a good flavour and overview of what San Diego has to offer to allow you to then go back and spend time at your chosen area. The attention to detail like providing a little goody bag with water and snack gives an indication of a company that care about their customers and want to provide a great service.Written February 18, 2018
- Auntie_El0 contributionsFun way to see San DiegoWe took a private tour with Roxane. She made it fun and interesting and she was fairly flexible with the amount of time we spent at each place. She knows a lot of pop culture. She gave us the basics more than in depth lectures. Snacks and water provided. Recommend.Written December 22, 2017
- tommomelbourne0 contributionsExcellent city and beaches tourWe did two tours with SDR Tours where Roxanne was our excellent host. She had a lovely clean car (Toyota Rav 4) and collected us from our hotel on time each day. Both tours were half day tours. As there was some double up with beaches on the city tour we elected to do this as a private tour avoiding the beaches as they were covered on the next day anyway. The cost for the private tour was not much extra and very reasonable and worthwhile. The beaches tour was virtually private as well as only one lady joined us. Roxanne provided detailed commentary and obviously had a lot of knowledge about the city. Tour #1.Scenic Tour We covered Mount Soledad (great views) Downtown San Diego to visit the famous Balboa Park, Little Italy, Old Town San Diego and the Seaport Villiage Tour #2 Life at the beach tour We visited Pacific beach, Coronado Island, La Jolla, and Ocean Beach. At Ocean Beach we stopped by Wonderland for lunch with a spectacular view of the ocean. This is included in the tour price. If you don't have a car or don't want to drive this is a great option. Its a great way of covering the city efficiently with someone who knows the area well.Written October 31, 2017

Roxane was very knowledgeable about the city of San Diego. She made everything so enjoyable! We were surprised that the tour wasn’t on a trolley. Instead, we had a large black van, but it was very comfortable. Roxane used a microphone so we could easily hear her. Thanks Roxane!

My husband and I are locals and were celebrating our anniversary so we decided to do the SD Scenic tour to get a taste of San Diego from the eyes of the tour guide. The guide was friendly and she was good about engaging with everyone on the tour. She gave perfectly timed details about each location we were about to visit. Although my husband and I only live about 40 miles from most of the destinations, we had only been to one of them (La Jolla Cove). After getting a sample of the destinations, we definitely will be returning to spend more time in each.
The only con to this tour was the size of the vehicle. There were 12 of us in a small van and the ride was very uncomfortable from destination to destination. I have a bruise on my bottom from sitting on top of a seatbelt the entire time. Ouch!
Other than that, would definitely recommend.

Our tour guide was Linda, very nice woman and very informative. She was great!! The tour itself lasted about 4.5 hours or so, and we got a real good experience of what San Diego was like. I would however make sure you get there early if you have a car because parking is hard to find, unless you have an alternate way of arriving. I would also advise to eat breakfast or bring something because the stops for food were later on during the trip. Overall I would recommend to anybody who is new to San Diego, or anyone has centralized to one area. The only gripe I had was the leg room on the ride. I’m sort of tall (6’1”), so my knees were hitting the back of the seat in front me. Keep that in mind if you are taller.

I get to see America's Finest City in its full, grand scale. Through the different stops along the tour (La Jolla, Mt. Solildad, Old Town, Balboa Park, and Coronado), each part of the city has something unique to share. Perhaps once the pandemic is over with, people can get to see each part of San Diego in its full glory.

The tour itself is a great overview of the city with multiple stops. It was nice to have a few minutes at most places to walk around rather than just sit in the van for 4 hours; however, the stops felt rushed due to 'staying on time, or making up time.' We left a little later than scheduled, but the driver picked up opposite side of the building where the directions state. She gave a reason why she did, and noted that the company needs to change the directions, though through her admission, she's worked there for 3 weeks. Thankfully, one couple didn't get left behind due to this confusion. The tour guide shared solid educational facts about the city - but also extra info that frankly did not enhance the experience. We didn't need to know she's single and soliciting us to find her a match. We didn't need to hear about her other job and how popular she is with that. We didn't need her to carry a vape and take a last puff before she blew smoke as we entered the van. We didn't need her to honk during a private ceremony at one of the stops in order to get a car to move out of her way. I felt like her somewhat aggressive behavior honestly took away from the ability to relax and enjoy the experience. On the plus side, and why we took the tour, we were able to get a general overview of what San Diego has to offer. If you are new to the city, it's a great way to explore at a very surface level and pique curiosity for what you might want to go back and visit again - La Jolla beach, historical buildings, military, old town, and even Coronado Island. The tour was obviously not all encompassing of San Diego, but worth the ½ day of time to explore. The water was greatly appreciated. Might want to re-think trail mix as a snack option due to nut allergies, so if you have nut allergies, be warned that is what is offered.

Hello Kristi,
Thank you so much for your feedback. I’m so sorry you didn’t fully enjoy the tour.
As you said, Melissa is a new addition to the company, and I’m very surprised as I never had this kind of feedback, and I agreed, she should have not shared any personal information, or being too familiar, and I’m sorry it took some joy away from you while exploring the city. If there is anything that we can do to make your experience a little bit better, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you

Roxanne was knowledgeable and provided us 4 ladies on a Girl's trip last weekend a truly wonderful tour.! She was clear on where we needed to meet, and was flexible in our schedule if we wanted more time at a certain stop. She provided various recommendations and gave great backstories to many of San Diego's areas. This tour lets you see the best sights in San Diego - highly recommend! Its a MUST DO!

I really enjoyed the tour. We hit several different spots all over the city in a very organized and efficient way, but I also didn't feel rushed at the different spots that we visited. La Jolla and Coronado are beautiful, and the view from the Cabrillo monument is amazing. Definitely worth the price in my view!

Our family of five (all adults) enjoyed this tour very much. Roxanne was a very good tour guide, told us lots about San Diego, and all the sites we saw. It was a very nice way to get an introduction to the city and sees some of the places we may have not gotten to see otherwise. The stops at each location were just right, long enough to see the location and explore a bit and not long enough to get bored. Would definitely recommend it.

Roxane is great! She takes you all over, stopping at places such as La Jolla, Old Town, and Coronado beach. There’s time to get off and explore each area. Her van is clean and accessible. I felt very safe during the entire trip. A word of caution to those who find it difficult to get in and out of large vehicles because you’ll be doing that frequently.

This stops at the top tourist places for about 25 minutes at each stop. It was truly a great tour. Our tour guide (French girl, forgot her name) had an abundance of information at each stop. I strongly recommend this tour.
