About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- JimF441470 contributionsChallenging Slickrock at Circle OFor our 3rd and final day of riding we were at the Moab Brand Trails and rode Lazy EZ, North 40 and the challenging Circle O. We started off Lazy EZ and the name fits as it was an easy start. The North 40 has some great and challenging downhill. The Circle O lulls you into a quarter mile that seems like it won't be challenging and then...up and down the slickrock for the next 3 miles. The Circle O kicked our butts so we had lunch and Noel took us to see some Native American drawings. Very fun last day of riding and experiencing Moab.Written September 14, 2024
- JimF441470 contributionsNorth Klondike challenging with viewsThis was my first ride in Moab. This was an intermediate ride with an immediate climb followed by scenic portions and challenging ascents and descents. If this is your first day in Moab the the first 2 miles will definitely test your lungs as you acclimate to the altitude. Overall, Paul was a great guide and made the experience enjoyable!Written September 14, 2024

- Luigi R0 contributionsAmazing tour with flying Brian!!We did an intermediate tour with e-bikes with Brian in Dead Horse plane. Brian was an amazing guide! He gave us information on the area, while also guiding us perfectly throughout the park. The tour was incredibly fun and enjoyable. The e-bikes were amazing and we had the time of our lives!Written August 22, 2024
- Swims_With_D0LPHINS0 contributionsGreat ride on Slickrock - highly recommendedGreat ride on the Slickrock trail with Matt as my private guide. He was punctual, professional, and well prepared. The provided enduro e-bike was perfect. Mat adapted our ride to add a couple extra loops when we completed the 10 mile loop quickly. The views were great, and I had a great time. Book with confidence :)Written August 15, 2024

Both worked fantastically together - they were engaging, knowledgable and humorous. The weather was fabulous although a bit hot at 30 degrees for May! - CatR420 contributionsFun, but challenging tripJust finished a great four day White Rim tour with Rim Tours. Dave and Esteban were great guides. They were very patient with us, as my husband and I brought up the back every day, and both took the time to give me tips on how to ride in the terrain. I had an e-bike and my husband wished he had gotten one (he has much more experience with bikes than I do, so thought it would be a breeze, but has been awhile since he has had a lot of time on his bike and a few more years on him, so it was harder than he had anticipated). With an e-bike it is much easier and I could make it up most hills without walking, though it was my first time on a mountain bike and my fear of downhill resulted in my walking parts everyone else had fun speeding down. The food was great and I ate too many brownies the first few days. Overall, a great trip. As a newbie to mountain bikes and not a strong commute biker, you can do the trip with an e-bike, but plan on walking parts and bringing up the rear and being tired after day two. Get some time on your bike before and take a mountain bike class to make it easier.Written October 21, 2023
- LisaGmiller0 contributionsDead Horse bike tourWe had an amazing day mountain biking in dead horse. The tour was small and personalized. Our guide, Brian, was knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of the area and park! Thank you for a wonderful fun time.Written October 21, 2023
- khausma0 contributionsCanyonlands E Bike AdventureJulie was an absolute professional and beyond. She helped us (mostly me) stay comfortable throughout the whole downhill of the Shafer trail. To say I was intimidated is an understatement. The bikes were so well maintained and gave me the confidence to continue down the trail. Once we knocked that out, the rest of the trip was a dream! We had a great lunch out at Muscle Man arch. We loved talking with Julie and learning about her passions. The e-bikes were a delight coming back up the trail. This felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience Canyonlands in such a unique and remarkable way.Written October 20, 2023
- sldgar10 contributionsAdventure AwaitsThis was such an awesome experience. This tour made everything so Easy! Our tour guide, Marla, was phenomenal! Now to be completely honest- my husband and I only experience with “mountain biking” has been on the flat land of Florida. We were completely transparent with Marla about our level of expertise. She made us feel SO comfortable. If there were segments that we struggled- she kept encouraging us. There were times we had to walk the bike because WOW that was a challenge but what made the experience so wonderful was the challenge. Marla even said- what makes this experience so great is the challenge because you will never forget. And she was 100% correct. Thank you Rim Tours and Marla for making our time in Moab such a memorable one.Written September 21, 2023
- FarAway7889420 contributionsRim Tours - The Best in Mountain BikingRim Tours does everything really well! I've taken three MTB trips with them, all superb: The Maze, White Rim and Grand Canyon. Guides are experienced and mellow, cook great food, tell great stories, and give useful tips on biking. The mountain bikes, tents, etc. they provide are top notch. Pricing of the trips is very, very reasonable. And the areas they access are the most beautiful in the country. I recommend them without reservation.Written May 27, 2023

- Dream598973782600 contributionsKokopelli Trail MTB, I will never forget youUnforgettable MTB Tour on the Kokopelli trail Oct. 10 -14, 2022. Buck and Xander our two guides treated us like „Rock Stars“. Excellent food from the truck kitchen, helping hands when mounting the tent, taxi service to set an end to the hike in the sunny desert with sandy wind in the face just before sunset, all caused by a not repabel flat tubeless tire. This experience lasts for my lifetime and I would not miss it!Written February 3, 2023
- IspasC40 contributionsExcelent for beginners but also for a relaxing rideGreat scenery, easy trail for every rider. Even though it was around 30 degrees Celsius we were able to complete the entire tour on time without too much of a struggle.Written November 19, 2022

Recently did the half day Courthouse Loop with guides Noel and Russ. We were a group of 4 paired with another family (we didn’t know) also a group of 4. COVID precautions were excellent and we felt very comfortable the whole time. The bikes are very high end; all Santa Cruz mountain bikes. Such a smooth ride and very easy for beginners to manage. The whole experience was catered to the ability of the families and the group split up at one point to allow for different paced riding. There were plenty of photo ops and educational nuggets about the geology we were seeing. For our first true mountain biking experience this was top notch, highly recommend. Our group of 4 ranges from age 8 to 71 and each person had a great time on this tour!

So, I probably should not have done this tour. I ride a street bike daily between 5 - 15 miles per day. So I thought “why not”. The woman on the phone cautioned me that if I had never been on a mountain bike before, that the Courthouse Rim Tour was probably the best. Lucky for me that I listened to her.
Matt, our guide was great. He was very patient with me (and all of the people in the group). And while the Courtyard Loop was probably the easiest of the mountain bike tours that the company offered, it still “kicked my butt”. Anyway, I would highly recommend Rim Tours and if all of their guides are as good as Matt, then you are in good hands. The best 4 hour experience on two wheels!

We have biked all over CA as a family (2 adults + 3 teens), but usually on straight, paved concrete paths like through Yosemite. So we mistakenly thought this "introductory" tour in Moab would be up our alley. However we quickly learned that this was not going to be a leisurely cruise. There were two other families with kids in our group. Within the first 15 minutes, a little girl dropped out of the tour after taking a spill. A few of us had to get off our bike to walk uphill multiple times on the trickier parts. The canyon was beautiful when we got there, and it was nice to take a breather and listen to our guide Carl talk about the area geology. However by this time of day, it started to get hot and we were spent. We were only halfway through the tour but ready to go back. Felt bad because Carl was so enthusiastic and encouraging to our group. By the time the tour wrapped up, less than half of the participants remained. (The rest of us were at the parking lot checking out the new pump track) Suggestion for Rim Tours to offer an "easier", abbreviated option for those of us who are not regular mountain bikers, especially since Moab is now attracting tourists who are not necessarily hard-core adrenaline seekers. Maybe also starting earlier in the day to avoid the heat. BTW Carl was hands-down our favorite tour guide of our entire Spring Break road trip. Thanks for being so patient with us newbies!

We were in town for a couple of days with our teenage kids and wanted to ride Slick Rock. As fairly experienced mountain bikers, I was a little skeptical about booking a tour over just renting bikes and riding. But I am so glad we did! Slick Rock is completely unique to anything else we have ever ridden before, and our guide Jeff was amazing. To have a local guide you round the trail and show you the best sections to session and where to stop for views etc just took the whole experience to another level. The bikes and equipment were top level and way better than if we had had just “rented” and ridden. The overall cost was barely more than just renting anyway, so the value for money was awesome. I cannot recommend this enough, even for experienced riders.

We had such a fun time on the Courthouse loop trail with Rim Tours. Our tour guides were very friendly, knowledgeable and prepared. They knew the trail very well, were able to educate me (a super beginner mountain biker) on how to control the bike so I felt confident. We did an easy trail to start off with to get the hang of things and then moved into more technical/fun trails. Incredible views throughout the entire trail - really enjoyed this half day adventure and it was well worth the price. This was our favorite part of our trip to Moab. It helps to be in somewhat good cardio shape for this, but they cater to all ages/conditions and it was fun for all regardless of conditioning/training.

This was a great day for us. My 6 year old daughter was super excited but also scared and needed some extra help and encouragement. We all love riding our bicycles but new with mountain bikes. Our guide Steve was kind, patient, flexible, and knowledgable. He was able to go with the flow of what our family needed.
We took turns going out with my older daughter and then eventually also on a short solo loop with him. My youngest left feeling accomplished instead of discouraged which feels like a win. She's looking forward to our next mountain bike adventure. We all wanted to keep going.
Covid precautions were observed and it felt super safe. We drive separately and met the van with bikes at at the trails. I highly recommend this tour and company.

We had an amazing time on our half-day ride with Julie & Rim Tours. The bikes were fantastic, really helped to build my confidence that the bike was also well equipped to handle the rocky terrain. The trip was such a blast, we'll definitely do another tour with Rim on our next visit!

XXXander (who may have fibbed about the actual number of "X's in his name... ; ) was super sweet and kind, showed up ready for five of us with highly different skill levels ,(my husband, myself, our three kids in their 20s) took great photos, had great snacks and took the time to teach my husband some new bike repair techniques and helped him with the process!
He also gave us a quick geology lesson and took time to point out the wee beasties in the big rain puddles on the slick rock! Could not have asked for a better intro to mountain biking experience.
Will definitely be calling Rim Tours again the next time we are in Moab.

I can't say enough amazing things about our experience with Rim Tours during our Utah trip. We biked the Courthouse loop with Marla and she couldn't have been more of a perfect fit for my family of four (kids ages 10 and 13). She was able to take all four of our skill levels and make the trip a complete success. We all felt comfortable on the rental bikes, her introduction on how to maneuver the bikes and area was top notch. Her knowledge on the area and having us stop to take in the view was completely perfect! I would highly recommend this tour group and five star Marla!!!!

Did the "beginner/introductory" bike trail. Wouldn't suggest it for kids even though the video shows kids on the trail. I had expected a wide Jeep road with few ups and downs and not many rocks - it's not that. The trail has a few short ups and downs but you will ride on slick rock a lot of the way. There are a few spots where you have to negotiate larger rocks in the trail. If you are comfortable on a bike you will do fine. It is about a four hour day but that is taken up with driving to the site (15 minutes), safety and bike information (the bikes are fabulous), etc. When you are on the ride the guide will stop frequently to show you what obstacle is next and show you how to ride it, to take a few pictures, to give you a chance to catch your breath. I have ridden mountain bikes a couple of times so was very comfortable on this ride. Take more water than you think you will need. I liked using my hydration pack rather than just using a water bottle that is attached to the bike. If you don't have a level of endurance this might not be for you. Our guide Jeff was fabulous. It was fun, exciting, a little challenging and I had a blast!

Hi, around what time does this start and stop? Looking to book in September but trying to figure out the schedule.
Written May 30, 2022
The description I see shows both 2 hour and 4 hours for duration. Is there more than one STOP for this tour, or is one of those numbers wrong? Thanks.
Written March 21, 2022
Is it minimum two gusts? May I just sign up for myself on Aug 29th or 30th? Thank you.
Written August 15, 2021
You have your own mountain bikes? I didn't see anyone else using their own. I would call and let them know that you have your own bikes, and would like to use them, and see if that's possible. If yes, they might want to check your equipment for safety, or their insurance may not provide for such a provision. Call, and see! Happy biking.
