My wife and I had an amazing day at Canyonlands with our guide David. We were with another couple and all four of us were fully Covid vaccinated so we felt very safe. The area looks spectacular when viewed from the overlooks above but is even more so when you are able to get down into the canyons. This was an all day tour starting out in Moab, then entering Canyonlands via the Potash Road, on the White Rim Road, down Lathrop Canyon to the Colorado River for lunch, back on the White Rim Road then climbing up the iconic Shafer Trail Road back to the highway to return to Moab. We had multiple stops where we were able to get out of the vehicle, stretch our legs, walk around staring in amazement at the scenery and of course take some spectacular photographs. For most of the day we were on roads that definitely required a high clearance four-wheel drive vehicle (and of course a driver who knew what he was doing). Our guide and driver, David, was great - very knowledgeable (especially about the geography of the area), great sense of humor and a very confident driver on some pretty steep, rough roads. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to experience the back country of Canyonlands but doesn't have the time or ability to hike or bike in.

Our family recently went on this full day tour offered by Navtec Expeditions.

Our guide, Blaine, was extremely knowledgeable about the White Rim trail, the history, the general Moab area, the best places to take photographs ......

Blaine made this tour one of the best days of our Utah vacation.

We toured with Navtec Expeditions for 3 days and recommend them highly.

We signed up for a full-day private tour of the White Rim Trail through Dead Horse Point State Park and Canyonlands National Partk. Our guide, Blaine, was friendly and knowledgeable. My wife and I are both "serious amateur" photographers and hoped the tour would give us opportunities for some great photo opportunities. Our expectations were far exceeded. It turns out, Blaine was a photographer in his own right and was able to offer us numerous photo opportunities. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to the Moab area.

Our guide was full of knowledge which made for an interesting day. We enjoyed the scenery and learning about the area. Those considering this full day tour should know that the ride is very bumpy and may be too much for those that have a fear of heights, sharp drop offs, and quick turns. Yes- the ‘white rim’ tour may induce ‘white knuckles’ at times:-). Designated stops along the way provided welcomed breaks to take short hikes and unique photos. We must admit, we were extremely disappointed when we found out that there would be five people in the vehicle counting the driver when we were picked up for the tour. We were under the impression from phone conversations during booking that there would be a maximum of three passengers. Three adult passengers in the back seat made it difficult at times to see some of the sites the driver was pointing out while riding. It all depended on where you were seated and the direction of travel. Even though we enjoyed the other couple we toured with immensely, it was quite tight with three in the back bouncing around. The lack of leg room didn’t help with stabilizing oneself either. We felt the tour was overpriced when you take the number of passengers into consideration.

Dan was fantastic. We saw so much and he was very knowledgeable about the history, geography, geology and details of the park. We made stops for photos and even saw two sets of big horned sheep with their lambs! The only way to see this part of the world. We left our own 4wd in the parking lot and let Dan do the difficult driving and maneuvering through unpredictable trails. Learned a lot and enjoyed it all!

We started with a rainy, overcast day. NAVTEC was proactive and with our permission switched our itenerary to a better suited trip. - White Rim Trail. Mike was our guide and he did an amazing job for us - covered lots of ground, managed to keep us going despite cold and rainy weather and as the weather improved took us to a few other places that are hard to access by foot. Really a great trip, great planning by Mike and NAVTEC and would do again.

This trip is my sixth trip to Moab. My wife and I booked the all day White Rim Trail trip. We hooked up with our guide, Josh, and almost immediately I am learning some things that I did not previously learn. He took us to a second petroglyph panel on the road to Intrepid Potash I never knew about.

His knowledge and love of the Canyon Lands area is deep and true. We toured the White Rim and ended up on the Colorado for our lunch. I need to point out I never realized that it was possible to get to the river by road.

We left after a very nice lunch and continued back part of the way we came we headed back to the Island in the Sky via the Shafer Trail. On the way back to Moab from there we went down what is a back way to the Poison Spider which offered new amazing views.

Finally, Josh possesses an amazing knowledge of southwestern ornithology! We would go on any Navtec tour he led!

Actually did 2 full day trips (Canyonlands Needle Dist. was 1st day) and had Buzz both days as guide. The country is breathtaking all throughout both districts of Canyonlands and Buzz was extremely knowledgeable about the rocks all around us and the plants and even the bacteria that helped create life. His technical skills in driving on the Needles' "roads" (his word, not mine for sure lol) was unbelievable. Pulling in the rig's mirrors just to squeeze through passages in the boulders (sometimes having to drive backwards) was impressive to say the least. Lots of great stories to remember as well. Ask about the Hole in the wall.
Highly recommend.

We originally had a half day to Canyonlands, then rebooked to a full day, which was a good thing we did considering the distance from Moab ( the road construction in Moab adds 45 mins in travel time in afternoon rush hour ).
Chris was our guide and did a tremendous job of bringing us to sights that we couldn't have seen on a half-day tour. This was a top-notch tour. Loved it !!
We were 5 occupants in jeep and wore our masks most of the time in the vehicle.

Our tour guide, Justin, was amazing. His deep knowledge of the area, from history to chemistry, was exhaustive. His delivery is clear and easy to understand. He made the trip fun as well as informative. Lunch was excellent--wraps filled with caesar or Chinese chicken salad (and as much as you want), along with water, lemonade and fruit. The wraps were made fresh at the picnic site. He was also an expert driver and navigated the challenging parts of the trail with ease.

Be sure to confirm your reservation with Nav-eTc a few days before your trip.
