        Amazing Custom Cataract trip
AMAZING TIME!! Navtec is an amazing can-do outfit. We had a relatively complicated custom trip down Cataract Canyon and they were able to bring the pieces together to make it an epic adventure. The scenery was stunning, the whitewater was epic, and above all Josh, our great guide, was safe informative and fun. Thanks for a great trip. Looking forward to future adventures!!

        10/10 experience canyoneering!
Had an amazing experience canyoneering with NAVTEC expeditions. As beginners, both Matt and Wyatt made us feel so safe and comfortable, and they were overall just really friendly and fun guys. This is definitely an overwhelming experience, and be prepared to step out of your comfort zone, but it is SO worth it!! Can’t recommend this enough!

        Wonderful day on the water.
The whole experience was great. The crew at the hq and our driver and Emma, our guide, were all friendly and knowledgeable. The boat was clean and felt safe. I loved both the quiet parts as we floated along with deft guidance from Emma and the exciting rapids we ran. On the quieter parts we saw bald eagles and great blue herons, among other wildlife.

        Excellent Arches National Park tour!!!
The guides - Jason and Joe were fantastic!!! They not only showed us the usual sites (arches, windows, etc), but they also provided history to explain the formation of the terrain, the colors, and the inhabitants of the land from prehistoric through current times. Because the tour started late, we actually were able to witness the sunsetting over the national park and glimpses of the pink color across the La Sal mountains. I highly recommend this tour to anyone especially with Jason and Joe. They are very experienced at what they do to include driving across very challenging terrain...and entertaining as well. :) We all enjoyed both of them tremendously.

        A must do fun ride!
It was a Fun ride. We took 4 pm section when weather cools down. a bit breezy. Our guide and driver Joe was an experienced and careful driver, also partly a ranger, also a photographer. You can tell he loves what he's doing trying to maintain the nature and the park the best he could. He explained and answered all our questions, made sure we were safe during the ride. Recommend 100%.

Epic raft trip! Went with my 11 year old son. It was still pretty chilly on the river but the rapids were awesome, the canyon magnificent, and our guide fantastic. Bucket list raft trip on the Colorado River!

        Breathtaking and fun experience
Our guide Charlotte was just a ton of fun and super knowledgeable. Everyone in the office just from the moment of check in was so friendly and had the best personalities. I would truly recommend this tour to anyone and I always say the guide is what makes a huge difference in heightening the experience and that is where Navtec shines.

Great introduction to Arches National Park
We were pleasantly surprised when Navtec offered to pick us up at our hotel rather than us having to meet at their location on Main Street. Cody picked us up at 3:45 PM at our hotel and we joined another couple already seated in the Land Cruiser. The vehicle was high off the ground and my wife needed a small step stool to assist her in climbing into the backseat. The vehicle’s windows were closed with cool air coming through the vents which provided a comfortable ride and better allowed us to hear Cody’s comments as he drove us around the park. We entered the park using the original (unpaved) entrance which definitely required a 4x4 to traverse. He provided us with a lot of information regarding the history of the park, geology, and plants. He gave us excellent suggestions on what to see when we came back into the park on the next day as well as restaurants and attractions in the area. We were able to see the dinosaur tracks (amazing), Tower Arch, Balanced Rock, and Eye of the Whale Arch. He customized some of the tour based upon our interests. Our tour ended with us driving out of the Park via the main park entrance, giving us an excellent view of the La Sal Mountains, the Petrified Sand Dunes, and the Courthouse Towers near dusk. Overall, an excellent excursion that helped set the tone for an amazing time in Arches National Park. The 4x4 vehicle did drive over very rough roads that were sometimes very steep and sometimes very sandy that resulted in lots of jostling back and forth which could be stressful on a bad back.

        Morning in Arches National Park
Our Trip to Arches NP via NAVTEC was wonderful. Our guide, Tatiana, was so professional, knowledgeable and such a great gal! She knows her way around the National Park! We started our tour from the back end of Arches NP, through the Utahraptor State Park. Utahraptor State Park was amazing. There are dinosaur tracks to see. It is definitely best to use a tour company to visit this newly established state park. During our trip in Arches, Tatiana made sure to stop at as many of the special sites that Arches NP is known for. We saw Balanced Rock, Landscape Arch, Delicate Arch, Double Arch, Fiery Furnace and the Windows area. We decided to maximize our time in the park, preferring to do only shorter trails. But, we also were able to maximize our photo ops - we took some amazing pictures. Along the way, Tatiana pointed out popular sites - giving us lots of local history about the specific trail sites. Tatiana was an amazing off-road driver - she can really handle the dips and rough terrain. There is so much to see in Arches NP that four hours is not enough time to see all the areas, but this trip really gave us a wonderful overview of the park, so we can focus on specific areas on our next trip. Our tour definitely met our expectations. Our tour guide, Tatiana, definitely made the tour the best with her stories, exuberance and personality!

        Food and Age Issues
I booked this full day Class 3 & 4 Whitewater River adventure for myself and a friend. Re: Food issues: Most importantly, my friend called NAVTEC at least 3 - 4 days prior to trip and told the young female voice she required gluten free food choices. No GF items were available when lunch was served. Being gluten-free is not a lifestyle choice. Gluten, It's a real allergy and causes a lot of pain if eaten by individuals allergic to it.She gets physically sick if she eats food with gluten. She brought a bar and I happened to pack an organic apple. This is all she was able to eat for the day. Don't offer food options if you're not going to stand by it. NAVTEC assured her no problem to accommodate her. 2nd: Don't judge a book by it's cover. My friend and I are in our later 60s and are very active outdoors climbing, hiking, Whitewater rafting etc and still love and enjoy a good adventure. We are both experienced in white water rafting. We were moved from the front of one boat (Warren) to the back of another (Chase) before hitting the class 3 and 4. This was disappointing. Chase please speak up so the entire boat can hear when you are telling your stories about the canyon.

Beautiful Views along steep canyon edges
We decided to take this 1/2 day Canyonlands tour after taking Navtec's 1/2 day Arches NP tour which we thoroughly enjoyed. Riding in a 4X4 Landcruiser, we went into Canyonlands NP through a back entrance and experienced areas only accessible by 4 wheel drive. The views were AMAZING and the guide (Carter) was informative and a very safe driver. I mention the safety because the trail roads are very rough and narrow and in some areas go along the side of the steep canyon wall with sheer drop offs and no guard rails (NOT enjoyable for anyone with a fear of heights). Overall, a good way to see some beautiful sites if you can handle driving along steep canyon edges, but for us a bit too scary to thoroughly enjoy.

Can’t say enough how much fun and interesting this tour was. Great complement to a self tour — you go off road and learn about the geography, folk lore, history, and ecosystem. Our guide Cody was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend

        A most excellent adventure
WOW! What a day! This tour was fantastic. Our guide, Bus, was excellent. His knowledge of the geology, geography, history, and landscape is excellent. We started by seeing petroglyph. Then headed into Canyonlands. The scenery is amazing and endless. Bus would point out features in the landscape and explain about the different layers from different geological eras. We drove Schafer's Trail and a portion of the White Rim Trail. Arches was amazing. Beautiful scenery and yet so different. The arches are amazing. You can see forever. Lunch was great. Plenty of food and snacks. We thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Our driver, Ben, was the consummate professional, possessing a wealth of knowledge and experience about the Needles District.

My adult children and I felt very safe for the duration of the trip, ambling along pathways that I wouldn't even choose to walk, let alone drive. It took me looking backward at the other vehicle in our convoy to truly appreciate the technical difficulty this excursion presented, and the acumen of the very capable drivers(Ben and Charlotte).

Lunch was delicious and definitely a step above the usual deli sandwiches offered elsewhere, prepared following CDC guidelines for this really tricky time.

The 2.4 mile hike was perfect, tricky enough and full of unusual formations(slot canyons/slick rocks and elevated vantage points) to feel like a good workout, and we had plenty of time to explore or just relax and take in the views.

Worth every penny and then some!

Experience this park the way they were meant to be enjoyed with some solitude in nature. It was great to explore this incredible section of Canyonlands both with a beautiful hike and some amazing technical driving... it feels as if the park is yours for the day. Our guide [Josh B.] was extremely knowledgeable about the cultural and geological history of the area, an exceptional driver, calming/humorous influence on my nervous mom, and provider of interesting conversation for 10 hours... so ask for him if you get a chance. We used Navtec for a couple tours and highly recommend using them to help you explore, it is worth the investment.

Great experience. The only way to see the interior of the Needles. Our guide was Ben, a native of Moab who returned after 35 years in the army, a great person and guide. The drive over Elephant Hill and other 4x4 roads was quite an experience, but felt fully safe at all times. The Joint trail hike and views of the Needles and rock formations was the highlight of our Moab visit.

Expert driving in a unique experience, billed by the guides as the “most technically complex commercially navigated road in the continental US.” Enjoyed our guide Buzz’s commentary on anthropology, geology, and the ancient pictographs. Gorgeous hiking in Chesler Park, navigating slot canyons to arrive at a viewpoint for the picturesque Needles rock formation. Be prepared for a day in a ‘95-‘97 Land Cruiser/LX400, which can be exciting on the trails and potentially dull on the highways.

Tips: pack good shoes, water bottle, and some beer for the cooler

We had a super bad experience with a NavTec guide. We were out jeeping with 4 adults and three children in two jeeps. We have jeeped the area many times but it was a first for the family with kids. They were so excited. We were jeeping up a sandy road to some petroglyphs. Everyone was having a wonderful time. When we got close to the petroglyphs we saw a NavTec vehicle parked there with their Clients clearly enjoying the artwork. The guide quickly ran to his vehicle and yelled at his customers to run and get in the the vehicle. As we got closer, he pulled the NavTec vehicle dangerously in front of us and stopped to block our way. It was very aggressive. Then he proceeded to yell at us in front of the kids telling us that we have to slow down and that the Ranger is coming to get us. We were not going exceedingly fast. He was at least a 1/2 mile away when we were on the dirt road. In the end he refused to let us pass him and the kids were in tears when he finally got back in his vehicle and drove away. We sat at the petroglyphs for a while to try and regroup and make sure the kids knew the bad guy was not going to hurt us. It was completely inappropriate, especially in front of clients. We saw them again at lunch but our kids were too scared to get out of the jeeps. We parked away from him and went on the hike to try and avoid him. He completely ruined the day for this poor family who had never been there. I can’t imagine how miserable his clients were. Would NEVER use NavTec.

Josh B. was our amazing guide on this tour. A young man with such a diverse background and an incredible knowledge and love of the outdoors. “Trust Josh” was our mantra and he certainly lived up to that trust by giving us a memorable and safe journey. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere.

We actually took two trips with Navtec during our visit to Moab. A full day at the Needles district in Canyonlands NP, and a 1/2 day backcountry 4WD trip to Arches. In both cases, there was no better way to see the park than to have experienced guides show us the highlights.

For Needles, our guide Chris was amazing! Showing us some special places and taking us to country and hikes we could not have reached on foot. He took extra care to give us a fun drive without excessive jostling.

For Arches, our veteran guide, Ben, a lifelong resident of the area, showed us some places that very few people are able to see. He shared some great stories and took the abilities of the group into consideration in choosing our route.

There is no better way to see this country.

This is one of the best tours I have ever experienced. It was the right combination of thrilling with the 4X4 and exploration with the hiking. What really made this an amazing experience was Ben--he is a GEM!! I'm sure my husband and I would've loved this trip regardless but Ben made it that much more special with his wealth of knowledge of the area. I really enjoyed listening to all his fun facts and history of the city and surroundings. His passion for Moab and the parks was contagious. I would do this trip again in a heart beat so you definitely do not want to miss out on this!

Took the whole family on the Elephant Hill adventure. Everyone loved it. I was so pleased that Charlotte was our guide as she has guided me before. The family loved learning from her. She is so knowledgeable about all desert topics (geology, human history, flora and fauna etc). She is also a rad 4x4 driver! Elephant Hill was a rowdy route and we were all grateful to have an expert. The short hike through the Joint was a treat and I am so glad my family got to see a piece of Chesler Park. As always, Navtec is easy to book with, provides great pre-trip information, is competitive in cost, feeds you plentifully, takes excellent care of all the details, and demonstrates stewardship of our public lands. I look forward to future trips. Definitely ask for Charlotte!

NO stars go to Brian Martinez, the host in the NAVTECH office (tour operator). He was extremely rude and arrogant. Worst customer service experience ever!

On the positive side, 5 stars go to our tour guide, Ben, who was just awesome - a real confident pro 4x4 driver that made us feel safe and in good hands! We heard stories, told jokes, screamed to extreme maneuvers (adrenaline through the roof!), had a great time overall, and enjoyed every minute of the trip very much! Thank you, Ben!
