About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- meharper520 contributionsOur 3 hour tour!We were amazed how many locations were crammed into our 3 hour tour. We saw so many famous places. We were able to go at our own pace, which was lovely. The unit was very easy to operate. The GPS made it easy to follow. If we made a wrong turn, it helped us correct our direction. This tour is a must for your 1st time visit to San Francisco!Written December 2, 2024
- AndyCapp680 contributionsHusband said I’m not driving that 😂 half an hour later he was loving itAs my title said husband wasn’t happy to do this but honestly we saw so much with the gps guiding us all the way we were falling in love with San Francisco, I recommend this to anyone but please do 3 hours plus it is well worth it you won’t be disappointed. We laughed so much to and made some funny memories with this trip, must add not once did another driver beep at us everyone was so helpful. Great memoriesWritten December 1, 2024
- K6339HHdianat0 contributionsIncredible experienceThe experience is amazing, you need to try this form to view all the places touristics in San Francisco, I recommend used glassesWritten November 20, 2024
- karenjR831JH0 contributionsBest City Tour Ever! One of the best city tours I've ever been on, and I've been on a lot! I love that I was in control of my tour from beginning to end, and the staff at GoCar Tour were very knowledgeable and fully prepared us for our 3 hour tour!Written November 16, 2024
- crystaljK181JS0 contributionsWorth the Money! We did the 3 hour GoCar San Francisco tour and it was a fantastic way to see tons of sights in a new city without the hassle of finding parking! All of the stops are preloaded and you can just skip whatever you're not interested in seeing.Written November 15, 2024
- Brithon J0 contributionsAwesome Way to Tour the CityIt was better than being on a bus with no control of where you went. The GoCar gave you the freedom to stop where you wanted.Written November 9, 2024
- nickbH2828LA0 contributionsA Absolute must do!!!Absolutly fantastic!!! what an amazing way to see San Fran in a short space of time it was so much fun. So easy to drive and the guys were fantastic. A must to do! We had two Gocars, a family of four with 2 teenage kids. Kids loved it!Written November 7, 2024
- Guide606584087980 contributionsLots of fun!Great tour! We saw a lot of the city is such a short time! Being a Monday in October, it wasn’t busy. We were able to keep the car for a little extra and take the longer tour, for only a little extra. The guy that checked us in and out was very helpful. Definitely would recommend this to others.Written October 28, 2024
- mcallister21060 contributionsGreat, some a minor audio glitch, but a must do for any tourist!Had some tech issues, we rented 2 cars and one had no audio. Luckily they were very accommodating and gave us a voucher for future use. I’m a tourist and loved every moment of the ride, I giggled the whole time. I loved the audio tour (my sound worked fine) and learned a lot of interesting facts. I definitely would go again and recommend this as a must do to anyone wanting to see all the sights.Written October 26, 2024
- Norm B0 contributionsFun and safe.Geat fun and very safe - wish we had done the 4 hour as there was still much to see in San Francisco. Highly recommend this tour.Written October 24, 2024
- sarahN6109IP0 contributionsHighly recommendedThis is a fantastic way to see the city. We had a wonderful time. Wanted to make a note for plus size people, it is a very cozy fit but manageable. It also rides low to the ground so not super easy to get in and out but it can be done. There is a small amount trunk space if you buy any souvenirs along the way.Written October 23, 2024
- rhondawH5898FB0 contributionsExcellent, easy and extremely well set up!Such a great experience - really well done and gave us such a great overview of all that San Fran is and has to offer! The vehicle was easy to manage and the GPS worked beautifully!Written October 20, 2024
- 732dawnh0 contributionsDO NOT RENT!!!It saddens me to write this review, because this is a fun experience, but the people who run this business are horrible. I've live locally and use GoCar when I have friends in town, however, after this past rental, I will NEVER NEVER NEVER use them again nor would I ever recommend them to anyone. First of all, and this isn't specific to this past weekend, but the navigation isn't great. The notice of when to turn isn't always long enough in advance, the little cuts to save time are often confusing, and weirdly, the volume on certain directions is lower than others. Sot he volume is either too loud or too soft and it makes it easy to miss your turn. Again, I'm local, so I can manage, but I really feel for people who aren't and don't know where they are going. Especially if your sidekick is a kid who is clueless to direction. :) Also - you'd think those things would be nimble given their size. They are NOT. My VW wagon has a better U Turn radius than this piece of crap. They also don't back up, so if you end up in a tight situation, good luck. Getting back to Columbus Day weekend (the last time I used this service) - my friend and I rented the car in the AM. (Pro Tip If you Decide to Use this Crap Ass Company: If you decide to rent at 10am when they first open, make sure you get there about 15 mins early. They don't staff well for the opening crowd and if you aren't first in line, you wont' actually get in your car until maybe 10:30 or 10:45. Key is to be first in line.) We got in our car and went on our merry way. I knew that it was Fleet Week and the Columbus Day parade was going on, so I knew it would be busy, but I wasn't aware that GoCar's location would be affected by road closures. And do you think anyone told us about the road closures? No! So when it was time to take the car back, after sitting in crazy traffic, trying to navigate a car that is NOT nimble, and having sore hands from holding the hand breaks while stuck in gridlock traffic going down hill, we literally could not get back to the rental location. All of the roads leading to the location were closed. We called and asked what to do and they said we had to just wait it out. After speaking to an SFPD officer, he said we'd have to wait at least 1.5 hours until the parade was over. We literally had no where to go, no where to park, and those cars only have about 4 hours worth of gas in them. This was a bad bad situation people! Luckily i knew a little dead end street where we could at least kinda pull over and turn the engine off. We were also not the only cars stuck in this situation - many people had opted for the 3 hour tour and were now stranded in a mess of traffic and people. After continuing to call this place again and again to try and find out what to do, I got ahold of someone and they came to us to pick up the car. This was about an hour+ after we were supposed to take the car back. No apologies, nothing. The only thing they offered was to not charge for the extra hours. WTF??? That's not an offer, that's table stakes. I saw reviews on Yelp that said some people got a full refund. We did not. I called and asked. Told them I was a repeat customer but they didn't care. I will never use them again. If you decide to take your chances, please call 311 and make sure there are no road closures in San Francisco that day. This is actually the second time I used this service when there wer road closures - the last time the closure was around the Golden Gate Bridge for a political rally. Their navigation is not based on current situations and cannot account for any closure (expected or not). I feel for people who are from out of town and don't know their way around. It's not easy and these jerks will not help you.Written October 18, 2024
- angelapin760 contributionsAwesome Day seeing San FranciscoSo much fun!! Great way to see the highlights of San Francisco. Highly recommend the all day, so worth it. Not sure 1hr or 2hrs would have been enough, we did 5hrs and didn't see everything.Written October 17, 2024
- B994PEamandas0 contributionsLet the good times rollWe have a wonderful time exploring San Francisco in these cars! It was definitely cold I would make sure you bring a jacket hat and even some gloves our hands are ice cold with the wind blowing! Staff was professional and answered all questions. Definitely a must and when we revisit we'll do it again but a different route! Also if you're going in October, the fog in the mornings is pretty thick and we didn't get a chance to see a good view of the Golden gate bridge. I would check the weather and book it in the afternoonWritten October 17, 2024

First time in San Francisco and renting this buggy was the BEST thing we did!!! Great fun!!! It goes fast enough to be on the road and not a bike lane, but small enough to get into smaller areas. However you CANNOT take this over the Golden Gate Bridge…which was OK with me!

We did a 3h 40min tour. Went off the guided tour a few times and took amazing photos. I would totally recommend to anyone. You go places larger vehicles can't go. The guided tour is full of interesting facts and history of San Francisco.

We had the BEST time. beautiful views, a lot of information, and going at our own pace. I questioned my husband when he chose this tour, and it ended up being the highlight of our trip.
