About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:

- natalie0506020 contributionsThanks Yuri!Great experience. Picked up bikes last minute so we were worried about time but Yuri was efficient, knowledgable and got us sorted so we had plenty of time. It took us around 30 minutes to cycle from the shop to the start of the bridge with plenty of photo stops along the way. We cycled across the bridge and back in another 30 minutes and returned the bikes just before 5 (hired at 3). 2 hours is plenty of time if it’s just the bridge you want to do on the electric bikes. The bikes themselves were great, and we had no issues. Thanks for a fab experience!Written January 24, 2025
- jaredhr0 contributionsBike Hire SFE-bikes were powerful but very heavy and I found starting and stopping difficult. The push power button did not work on one of the bikes and the as we returned it got a puncture. Despite having insurance my son was told to push over a mile back to the depot. Just as wel he is over 6ft and strong. I could not have done At the depot there was no apology or offer of compensation so we just left no happy.Written January 8, 2025
- 753tansyf0 contributionsRelaxing, scenic ride across the Golden Gate BridgeWe went on the Golden Gate Bridge Guided eBike Tour. We had Drake and Ben help us. One helped me check in and one led the tour. I enjoyed the eBike tour. The day was beautiful and I enjoyed the spectacular views riding across the Golden Gate Bridge. When I checked in, I had to wait a few minutes while they sorted out my reservation information. I had paid for my husband and I to have eBikes but I was told I had a regular bike. They checked and I was told I still had a regular bike. I was told that I could upgrade to eBikes. I explained that I had paid $206.40 which are ebike prices. They told me since I had booked third party, I may have had to pay higher prices for regular bikes. Finally, they got the information that we had ebikes and everything was straightened out. Our guide was informative and gave us stopping points throughout the tour to give us information and gave us a chance to take pictures. One of the members in our group had a bike that stopped working. Our guide graciously rode the broken ebike and let the member in our group ride his bike. I did enjoy the guided ebike tour to Sausalito. We ate lunch in Sausalito and then returned back in a ferry.Written December 21, 2024
- G3336RPstefans0 contributionsEmpty promisesWe were 8 people (Family and friends) that rented bikes from Unmimited Biking in San Francisco. We rented the bikes the whole day to a final amount of $715. When we arrived we got a very sparesome introduction to how the e-bikes worked, but there weren't any other serviceinformation that would have been nice to know for a tourist visiting San Francisco for the first time. It could be special awareness info like "this area We suggest u avoid or these streets are more prone to danger. We sat off on our bikes but had to stop shortly after because one of our friends felt the bike was acting in a weird way. After further inspection we found out the frontwheel nut was missing entirely from the fork end frame so the wheel itself was loose. When we got back to the shop we had the bike switched to another which wasnt a problem so at least that was a good service. We took off again, but things didnt go well as we had another rider that got her frontwheel stuck in the tramtracks on the road. It resulted in a bad crash- head first in the asphalt. As she was transported to the hospital we headed back to the shop once again. All were shaken by the crash and none of us felt for any more bike riding. We asked the staff in the shop if it was possible to get a refund and only pay for the hours we actually used the bikes. He said it was no problem at all, but that he couldn't do it in the shop itself. It had to go through costumer-service. We send a email to the costumer-service and explained our situation, thinking there weren't gonna be any more problems now that the staff member had ensured us we could get a refund for the unused time we had. Later that day we received a mail saying "We do not refund as all sales are final" Now my issue here is the fact, that a staff member is promising me directly we are able to get a refund when we in fact are not. Our accident had nothing to do with Unlimited Biking as a company but when we are being promised someting by the staff We also expect that to be upheld. Now it just feels like the staff member clearly didn't know company policy and just wanted the "case" to be gone. It also struck us when we were asked if we wanted bike helmets or not, when we picked up the bikes. Thankfully we choose to wear helmets (which by the doctor on Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center were the main cause she survived the crash without major head trauma) Unlimited Biking should make it mandatory to wear bike helmets and actually care for their costumers wellbeing instead of just wanting their money. I will not be recommending Unlimited Biking in the future. StefanWritten October 31, 2024
- T8349CSstephenh0 contributionsUnsafe bike caused me to have serious accidentI have a cast covering my arm and two broken bones in my wrist as a direct result of renting a bike from this company on 1 October. The bike had totally inadequate brakes. I could not slow it down sufficiently on a steep descent and came off trying to make a corner. I am a highly experienced rider. Their defective brakes were the sole cause of this. The company has so far totally failed to take responsibility, claiming the bike “passed their safety standards” which is either a lie or they have no such standards. They offered me a free bike rental. I will never ride with them again. Mistakes happen. But people need to take responsibility. This company has not done so. I am unable to drive, cook, type etc due to their failure.Written October 6, 2024
- Vic89uk0 contributionsPlease read - no support for flat tyres…Awful experience today.. we hired 4 bikes, including one of the larger e.bikes, unfortunately we got a flat en route to the Golden Gate Bridge and the ‘customer service’ provided no assistance whatsoever. If anything they made it worse by ignoring us and giving us conflicting information… they wouldn’t speak to us directly (only via WhatsApp) directing us to an alternative cycle shop 37min walk away (which couldn’t help anyway) and then expecting it to be pushed back to the location over a 1.5 hr walk away… This was a 40kg bike, and very difficult to push, without the SF hills! It ruined our day and cost us over $240… We cycle a lot, we aren’t new to bike hire, flats are a common occurrence when cycling and it’s insane that they don’t have a contingency plan in place for when this happens. I dread to think how bad this could have been for someone alone, smaller, or older in the hot San Francisco sun! I can’t believe a cycle hire company would operate in this way, it is irresponsible. We’d have been much better off hiring the bikes available to hire via the on street racks and that just isn’t right… I would never ever hire from this place again and would recommend against doing so if you’re even considering it!Written September 14, 2024
- ubm0 contributionsBest way to cross the bridge!!!Really enjoyed this tour. John was a great guide - kept a sensible pace, looked out for us all and was full of useful information about San Francisco and the surrounding area. There’s a couple of slightly challenging hills - not unexpected for SF! - but we never felt rushed and when I got off and pushed my bike up the tough hills, I was never made to feel uncomfortable or held the group back. The last bit of the ride down to Sausalito is lovely - and all downhill - so a great way to finish! A lovely way to see some of the City and cross the bridge - would highly recommend!Written August 17, 2024
- U8707VJmariog0 contributionsGet John to get you around with an e-bike in SF!Unlimited Biking is the place to be for quick service, but surely for some good guide(s). We did the Santa Monica tour before, which was great, but now we know that e-biking around in San Francisco was even better, especially with our (we were only 2, so he kinda became a private) guide John. A lot of historical and economical facts spiced up our (cold & warm) windy and interesting 4 hours together. Ask for John and your tour will be more than worth any tip you could think of giving.Written July 22, 2024
- ellecheleng0 contributionsNightmare rental! Shady company!DO NOT RENT with this people! We rented 4 bikes used the gear provided by them for security and got a bike stolen. They directly ,without my authorization, charged $2700 to my card. There was a police report made and cameras caught the person. They were uninterested in any of that. They just charged me and were not willing to discuss any further on how to possibly resolve this by catching the thief or otherwise. Skip the nightmare..rent from another company!Written July 11, 2024
- X4537MErobertn0 contributionsDO NOT PRE-PAY!!!!I reserved 2 ebikes online and paid online, as well. When we arrived on time at the Haight rental location, the attendant told us there were no ebikes available and the attendant had no visibility for when the ebikes would be returned. I requested a refund but the attendant told me that he does not have the ability to process refunds and that I need to email sales@unlimitedbiking.com to request a refund. He gave me a hand-written post-it note to attach to the email. I sent at least 3 emails the week following the rental and received no reply whatsoever. When calling the 415-854-2222 number, the agent says they can't do anything and the only recourse is contact through the email. $150 for 2 bikes for 4 hours - wasted!Written June 30, 2024
- Ivli-Asse0 contributionsElectric bike tour to Sausalito highly recommendedWe had a Great tour with Jody and Sean (student) as our guides. 2 guides for 4 felt like a VIP arrangement. We had a Great time and the Chance to ask all our questions about life in SF and the USA in general.Written June 16, 2024
- Meander466437217270 contributionsA great experienceThe tour was great. A big thank you to John, our guide. He was enthousiastic, lots of interesting facts and culture to share and you could feel his love for San Francisco. A great 4 hours to spend. I would recomend it to everyone who comes to SF. @John: thank you for your patience regarding my condition en that I could not finish all the hills. ;-)Written May 10, 2024
- PeteDiB0 contributionsMisrepresented options to rent better quality road bikesHad hoped to rent better quality road bikes for a ride across GG Bridge and Marin Headlands. Booked bikes 3+ months ahead but arrived at the shop at 9am (no one there until 9:15) and were told no road bikes were available. Some one did show up at 9:45 with two very average road bikes and had to scramble around to find tools so we could use our pedals. Bikes had no equipment to change a tire and overall were very average. I would not recommend UB to rent road bikes with the hope of doing more than a short, low effort spin.Written May 2, 2024
- karenjH1729DL0 contributionsWe saw everything we hoped to see!!Unlimited Biking had the Best Guide and lots of information for us. Thank goodness for excellent bikes they supplied! They stop for short breaks. Bring your own water and a maybe a little snack.Written April 29, 2024
