    • GoCar’s hold a maximum of 2 people. Prices are per GoCar - not per person.

It was fun, but could have had a similar sight seeing experience with a hop on hop off bus tour
Does not feel very safe on certain roads and can be challenging to drive in faster traffic roads... the E version of the gocar does not have great initial pick up

      Gocar fun!!! Do this tour!
So much Gocar fun! We x2 adults and skids 12 and 14years had the best time cruising through San Francisco in the Go cars! The instructions were clear and the cars were easy enough to drive- a bit daunting being out on the road with mainstream trucks and cars, but fun nonetheless! We stopped at many main tourist spots in SF and took photos. The instructional gps with voice guide was so helpful and kept us on track. Don’t go to close to the water near the Golden Gate Bridge- you will get wet! Thanks Gocars!

An excellent way to see this great city
It was an awesome way to see the city. Two cars for four of us was excellent. Easy to ride and the audio was a great benefit. If we had more time would definitely have hired these longer. It was part of our go city card. So worth doing for the half hour.

      Our 3 hour tour!
We were amazed how many locations were crammed into our 3 hour tour. We saw so many famous places. We were able to go at our own pace, which was lovely. The unit was very easy to operate. The GPS made it easy to follow. If we made a wrong turn, it helped us correct our direction. This tour is a must for your 1st time visit to San Francisco!

      Best City Tour Ever!
One of the best city tours I've ever been on, and I've been on a lot! I love that I was in control of my tour from beginning to end, and the staff at GoCar Tour were very knowledgeable and fully prepared us for our 3 hour tour!

      Worth the Money!
We did the 3 hour GoCar San Francisco tour and it was a fantastic way to see tons of sights in a new city without the hassle of finding parking! All of the stops are preloaded and you can just skip whatever you're not interested in seeing.

      Lots of fun!
Great tour! We saw a lot of the city is such a short time! Being a Monday in October, it wasn’t busy. We were able to keep the car for a little extra and take the longer tour, for only a little extra. The guy that checked us in and out was very helpful. Definitely would recommend this to others.

This is a fantastic way to see the city. We had a wonderful time. Wanted to make a note for plus size people, it is a very cozy fit but manageable. It also rides low to the ground so not super easy to get in and out but it can be done. There is a small amount trunk space if you buy any souvenirs along the way.

Fun to drive with amazing sights of the city
We did a 3h 40min tour. Went off the guided tour a few times and took amazing photos. I would totally recommend to anyone. You go places larger vehicles can't go. The guided tour is full of interesting facts and history of San Francisco.

      DO NOT RENT!!!
It saddens me to write this review, because this is a fun experience, but the people who run this business are horrible. I've live locally and use GoCar when I have friends in town, however, after this past rental, I will NEVER NEVER NEVER use them again nor would I ever recommend them to anyone. First of all, and this isn't specific to this past weekend, but the navigation isn't great. The notice of when to turn isn't always long enough in advance, the little cuts to save time are often confusing, and weirdly, the volume on certain directions is lower than others. Sot he volume is either too loud or too soft and it makes it easy to miss your turn. Again, I'm local, so I can manage, but I really feel for people who aren't and don't know where they are going. Especially if your sidekick is a kid who is clueless to direction. :) Also - you'd think those things would be nimble given their size. They are NOT. My VW wagon has a better U Turn radius than this piece of crap. They also don't back up, so if you end up in a tight situation, good luck. Getting back to Columbus Day weekend (the last time I used this service) - my friend and I rented the car in the AM. (Pro Tip If you Decide to Use this Crap Ass Company: If you decide to rent at 10am when they first open, make sure you get there about 15 mins early. They don't staff well for the opening crowd and if you aren't first in line, you wont' actually get in your car until maybe 10:30 or 10:45. Key is to be first in line.) We got in our car and went on our merry way. I knew that it was Fleet Week and the Columbus Day parade was going on, so I knew it would be busy, but I wasn't aware that GoCar's location would be affected by road closures. And do you think anyone told us about the road closures? No! So when it was time to take the car back, after sitting in crazy traffic, trying to navigate a car that is NOT nimble, and having sore hands from holding the hand breaks while stuck in gridlock traffic going down hill, we literally could not get back to the rental location. All of the roads leading to the location were closed. We called and asked what to do and they said we had to just wait it out. After speaking to an SFPD officer, he said we'd have to wait at least 1.5 hours until the parade was over. We literally had no where to go, no where to park, and those cars only have about 4 hours worth of gas in them. This was a bad bad situation people! Luckily i knew a little dead end street where we could at least kinda pull over and turn the engine off. We were also not the only cars stuck in this situation - many people had opted for the 3 hour tour and were now stranded in a mess of traffic and people. After continuing to call this place again and again to try and find out what to do, I got ahold of someone and they came to us to pick up the car. This was about an hour+ after we were supposed to take the car back. No apologies, nothing. The only thing they offered was to not charge for the extra hours. WTF??? That's not an offer, that's table stakes. I saw reviews on Yelp that said some people got a full refund. We did not. I called and asked. Told them I was a repeat customer but they didn't care. I will never use them again. If you decide to take your chances, please call 311 and make sure there are no road closures in San Francisco that day. This is actually the second time I used this service when there wer road closures - the last time the closure was around the Golden Gate Bridge for a political rally. Their navigation is not based on current situations and cannot account for any closure (expected or not). I feel for people who are from out of town and don't know their way around. It's not easy and these jerks will not help you.

I was a little worried after reading some of the 1 star reviews because a technical issue would ruin this, but it looks like that is the extreme minority. We were given the instructions by video and helmets then on our way within 30 mins of walking in the door. We went out first so a couple who were behind us followed when we decided to intentionally detour, so it may be worth having a quick convo with any other people who are there before you set off. The GPS is easy to use (all automatic) and to be honest you won’t want to go off the obstructed path. We stopped off at a viewing spot for the bridge but didn’t do the full tour (3hrs?), the half tour is more than enough really. Get used to people taking photos of you at traffic lights, especially at the famous Lombard Street section. They’re really easy to drive, if you want to stop for a coffee or anything then it’s straight forward, but as you are paying for your time I would use these to see the sights rather than as genuine transport.

Loads of fun and we got some great photos. Definitely the highlight of our few days in the city. An easy way to get to the Golden Gate Bridge, have a quick walk round and get that experience in as well.

We used our Go City Explorer pass here for the 1hr tour. It was so much fun, I wanted to stay out longer.

First note, if you have the Go City Explorer Pass you need to call in to GoCar to reserve a time. They should send you a waiver via email, but they recorded my name wrong so I never got the email. I had to sign the waiver when I arrived and that takes a few minutes.

Second note, this is like any other vehicle rental so they offer their insurance options. Best to double check whether you’re already covered to save you some money.

The first thing they do is review your tour options. We booked the 1hr tour which is advertised as going through Chinatown, but was told we could go near the Golden Gate bridge instead, which we did. Then they go through a very quick orientation/safety video. I bit too quick for me, so I was a bit nervous but you learn to ride very quickly.

On the website, there is mention of a tablet for an extra fee, but our GoCar had one already equipped. The GPS for the most part is very helpful, although it would be nice if you could have the option to program a single route so you don’t get confused by the other available routes. That being said, when given the choice to go to Lombard street, i took it which added time and cost but it was worth it.

Routes are laid out very well so you always go through controlled intersections with lights or 4-way stops. You never need to make more dangerous left hand turns onto a busy street. And locals look to respect the GoCars as any other vehicle.

Driving these are a lot of fun. We booked 1hr and probably ended up using them for 1.5 hours. Could’ve easy spent more time on them. Fun way to tour SF.

This tour was great! Very informative, easy to drive, done at our own pace, can skip what we don't want to see or stay longer. We would definitely do these again.

The only issue we had was when we go to the company to check in they couldn't find our reservation for about 10 minutes. After that everything was good. Be aware that you will most likely go over your 2 hour time limit and they do charge $1 per minute after that. We went over by about 20 minutes, which I didn't really care about another $20, I thought it was fair.

I love that the car talks to you, tells you where to turn, shows the gps map. It was really great, plus all of the attractions that were fit in to the tour. It had a lot of what we wanted to go see while we were in San Francisco. It was perfect for us. Golden Gate, Bunkers, Canon, Beaches, Lombard Street, etc...

It was very enjoyable and easy.

What an experience to see the sights and the city. Guy at the desk was very helpful and informative. The cars are twist & go like riding a scooter, well worth the money. We went after midday and actually got an extra hour for free (3 hours total).

The experience was awesome! I highly recommend it to anyone. Be mindful of the time because it is easy to go over. The gps guides (speaks) to you and tells you where and when to turn.
Our gps went out but luckily they provide a map that shows the way you should go. I suggest they not only show the directions on the map but have printed turn by turn directions that list the street names. When you get off course, the gps stops guiding (speaking) to you which is great. That is the only way you know you are off course. I suggest that the gps immediately tell you that you are off course when you make a wrong turn instead of going silent. Four hours is best to rent and not 3 if you do not want to feel rushed. If you are a large person, be aware that the cars are small. Two large people will find it extremely difficult to fit in one car. If you and your partner are both large, rent a (motorcycle) different version or rent two cars. Again, I highly recommend this activity for all ages including the elderly. You just have to be able to lift your legs to get into the cars and turn the throttles like on a motorcycle. The cars are Super easy to drive. If you can drive a car, you should have No problems driving these cars. Super easy for anyone and children will love to ride in them. The sales people were nice and patient in explaining the rules and how to operate the cars. I will recommend to my friends.

We had sooo much fun on this tour! The vehicle was easy to operate, the GPS was loud enough and clear, it didn't take us on dangerous streets orbsuper high hills, and warned us of traffic patterns, and we were able to access spots that we wouldn't have otherwise gotten to on foot or by bike. Highly recommend

This is a unique experience to see so much of the city in a new way. We live in the Bay Area but our friends from outta town wanted to do it. It was actually really cool to get around this way! My piece of advice is be really mindful of stops and timing. We took the 3hr but as we entered Golden Gate Park we knew being from here we weren’t nearly
Close enough to get back within our 3 hours as we had stopped a couple times. We ended up having to skip Lombard which is a bummer with the excitement of doing that with this small car. We plan to do the 30 min another time with our of town friends just to get down the coolest street in SF. It was a great time over all and a really great experience. Our time started from check-in and ended at return. Everyone was really kind and helped troubleshoot early when our first car didn’t start. Honestly everyone was pretty respectful on the streets we were driving on as well, but be prepared you are right there with SF traffic and other rental car tourists. Great experience overall!

Had some tech issues, we rented 2 cars and one had no audio. Luckily they were very accommodating and gave us a voucher for future use. I’m a tourist and loved every moment of the ride, I giggled the whole time. I loved the audio tour (my sound worked fine) and learned a lot of interesting facts. I definitely would go again and recommend this as a must do to anyone wanting to see all the sights.

So much fun! Can’t imagine a better way to see the sights than via this unique self paced, GPS guided tour. We booked online and the staff were great. The “cars” are so easy to come to terms with, not at all intimidating, even for us who drive on the wrong side of the road.
Great value, can’t recommend highly enough

One word: fantastic! Honestly, if you have the time, and can spare the extra money - ie it’s not a cheap tour, but so worth the money - book the Go-Car! It’s a wonderful, and very exciting and fun way to explore SF.
