    Great day exploring!
This was a wonderful day. We learned so much at Alcatraz, even though it was raining - had an amazing time at Muir Woods, and Sausalito was very welcoming to us as we wrapped up our day. Roman did a fantastic job guiding and giving us background and history on SF and area. Highly recommend this trip!

Great even in the rain and fog
Words fail when trying to capture their awesome solemnity and magnificence. I only wish the tour allowed us more time there. Roman was our tour guide cum driver, and he is very knowledgeable about San Francisco and region as well as about the redwoods. He is an oxymoronically humorous German, organized without being Prussian about it.

    Excellent tour and guide
The excursion was great and we spent enough time at all of the stops to be able to explore. The tour guide was excellent, good sense of humor and I liked being with a smaller group.

    Amongst the Redwoods
A superb trip to an iconic area of Coastal Redwoods. A knowledgeable and personable guide/driver. I enjoyed it a lot. Good pace, good vibe.

    Good day out
Excellent day out, very crowded with people, hard to do the audio tour with so many people trying to see in small areas! Still much worth going to and seeing

Get a flavor for each without the logistics hassle!
We were only in SF for a long weekend so this organized trip hit three must sees without the hassle of rental cars and booking park reservations. In Muir Woods, though a short line, consider buying your Muir Woods tickets ahead of time if you can. We were able to hike the loop and see all 4bridges, though at a quicker pace. No hills or special shoes are required to see all four bridges for an out and back, so in the instance you have a stroller or physical limitations it will be accessible. We did take longer on the hike and had to skip the gift shop. Sausalito was the right amount of time for quick (and incredibly delicious!) bite to eat, see shops and the free art exhibit. If you want to sit down for full service lunch, you will have to skip shops/art exhibit. No hills again and sidewalks. Alcatraz was plenty enough time as we spent approx 2 hours including the included audio tour. However be prepared for some steep hills! They did have golf carts to assist. Highly recommend taking the morning trip! You have less traffic, arriving at Muir Woods before it’s to busy, plus you have no limitation on time at Alcatraz since this was a self-guided portion. Ben, our guide was helpful and informative and the small sprinter van with a smaller group was the way to go! We could ask more questions and spend more time experiencing as compared to big tour bus. Very happy and Highly recommend!

    Perfect Day Trip!
This trip is the perfect day trip! We did Muir Woods in the morning and Alcatraz in the afternoon, would highly recommend this option. You start locally in downtown Sf and get a wonderful view of the bridge on your way to the woods. We had plenty of time to walk around the woods and didn't feel rushed at all. Next, the stop in Sausalito for lunch then back to SF for Alcatraz. One person in our group had all the tickets so you have to stay together at the beginning, but once you board the ferry you are on your own. Having everything included made the whole day stress free!

    Do this tour!
This tour was amazing! Ample time to check out the Miur woods, the beautiful redwood trees, and even the small, but lovely town of Sausalito. Tour guide was experienced and professional.

Nighttime Tour of Alcatraz --August, 2024
My family and I had a great time exploring the grounds of Alcatraz in August, 2024. I highly recommend the night tour for a spookier, more solemn experience. Be prepared for the cooler temps and wind by bringing a jacket. There's also a fair amount of walking uphill, but there is also a shuttle you can take if walking isn't manageable for you. We enjoyed the experience!

San Francisco in a New York minute
Good tour. Fast easy way to see San Francisco in a few hours (6-ish). Could have been more informative. But the weather wasn’t great so it was good the driver drove instead of talked. lol

    Alcatraz and Bay cruise
Fantastic tour and cruise. Being Christmas it was very busy on Alcatraz so after doing the main tour of the prison we decided to leave but it was very informative. Love the bay cruise. Would highly recommend both trips.

Excellent tour guide. Friendly, informative, kept on schedule. Loved the 10 minute stop at the Golden Gate Bridge view point for amazing views and pictures. If you are interested in truly seeing Muir Woods, take a tour that allows for more time, I personally could spend all day exploring these beautiful woods. This tour seemed designed to introduce the woods and allow for a quick trip to the gift shop. Sausalito is a lovely city, the stop was long enough time for a quick snack/window shopping. Appreciated the guide giving suggestions about visiting areas in and outside of San Francisco. Twice, he took the time to call fellow tourists who were late returning to the van. In previous tours I’ve taken, other guides would have just left. Small group tour of 11 people in springer van. Safe and comfortable. I recommend this tour.

Ride in comfortable transport. Gentle guide with slow, slow speech for everyone to understand. We pass by several tourist attractions and can stop to take photos. We crossed the Golden Gate. We stopped to admire it. At the park, we had enough time to stroll along the main trail.
But the park is under construction and noisy...breaking the atmosphere of the place. It wasn't the operator's fault. Evidently.
In Salsalito we can stroll, photograph and stop at a cafe to get a feel for the vibe of the place.
The return was the weak point: it was not clear that it would leave us far from the starting point. We had to take an Uber and go.

The small group tour (8 of us) was an absolutely amazing experience - all around. Jerry (from Taste of SF) was our driver/guide, and he made the day fun, very interesting, informative, safe and relaxed. The drive across the Golden Gate was a bit foggy, however that's often a "risk" for getting the best photo-op - Mother Nature chose not to be cooperative... Muir Woods was mystical and definitely a treasure for the State of California! Even though our hour in Sausalito went quickly, it was a beautiful drive, with just enough time for a "drink with a view" AND the option to return via ferry if we wanted to stay longer.
I'm so glad this tour was available and very affordable.
Thanks to Jerry for a memorable day!

A fantastic full day visiting Alcatraz, Muir Woods & Sausalito. Very well organised we received our tickets before we left the Uk to show on the ferry. A wealth of information was the Marine Mark who worked the ferry coming back from Alcatraz, he was happy to give us tips of where to go.
We loved all three places and were picked up promptly off the ferry to be taken by Mercedes to Muir Woods. Photo opportunity at the Palace of Fine Arts & Vista Point. Crossing over the Golden Gate Bridge to get to Muir Woods.
Incredible routes to take and standing alongside the Redwoods they are so tall.
Visited Sausalito spending two hours and returned back to Pier 33 by 4:30. Well worth taking trip the guide gives lots of information and tips on the areas and what to see.

Having a smaller van gave us the chance to visit with our delightful host and the others in our group - very friendly. Loved Muir Woods, so inspiring. We had the option of stopping in Sausalito and taking the ferry back to San Francisco. It was such a beautiful day we did take the ferry after a lovely lunch. Perfect day.
