- 181leandrom0 contributionsAwesome dayGlenda is simply the best! She brang a lot of hapiness, history and fun to the trip. If you think it is a long journey, don’t be scared, it is worth it. Yosemite is awesome and the views are breath-taking. Go for it! With Glenda :)Written October 13, 2024
- A2639NGcherylb0 contributionsThank you Andy!Thank you and a big ‘yee has’ to Andy Howse for a fun, entertaining and informative day at Yosemite! We had a blast and would recommend Andy to all our friends and family. We can’t wait to come back😊Written October 12, 2024
- colinp4970 contributionsA Good morning tour - well worth it.Booked this though our travel agent. Pickup and dropoff point short walk from our hotel. Coach with multiple stops around the city for a couple of hours. Unfortunately we didnt see much of Golden Gate Bridge due to fog, but no-one can help the weather. Stopped at many places for information and photos. Friendly helpful guide. Well worth itWritten October 12, 2024
- Marco Alberto M0 contributionsThis tour is different! We had an beautiful day at the Yosemite Park and Giant Sequoia with Andy, who is an amazing guy! He knows a lot of history, botanic and geology. He can manage every situation as politely as possible. 5 star for sure!Written October 8, 2024
- Dream160201161450 contributionsAmazing. EnjoyableI had a fun and wonderful experience with this day trip! Andy is funny, amazing, and informative. He filled us up with lots of history info about the Yosemite National Park. Besides, he is good with taking pictures, and it's helpful for me as a solo traveler. Definitely recommend this tour!Written October 7, 2024
- NorthStar171648071880 contributionsVery pleasant San Francisco and natureI was traveling from Japan, and it was very enjoyable to feel the magnificent nature that we do not have in Japan! The guide's explanations were easy to understand, very frank and fun! However, it was a little disappointing that the volume of waterfall water was low and lacked power in September.Written October 6, 2024
- davebJ2238OD0 contributionsNot worth it pay business class price for less than economy experienceAbsolutely horrible. They pick you up then drive you to meet a tour bus that is too small for a 15 hour day. I was stuffed shoulder to shoulder in the back bench seat. The suspension was horrible it was worse than a school buss. For almost $600 for a couple felt like a field trip in grade school. Save your money and rent a car you will have a much more enjoyable experienceWritten October 5, 2024
- Scenic183111539070 contributionsOkey Dokey Artichokee. Our recent day trip to Yosemite was flawless and pretty much exactly what was advertised. Our guide Andy Howse is a wealth of local knowledge and history which really added to the experience. At times Andy kept everyone entertained during long stints in the bus with stories about the surrounding area & its people. All up a great tour and would highly recommend. We even saw a bobcat stroll on by us in the Yosemite Valley. Awesome.Written October 4, 2024
- CathyS5520 contributionsExcellent day trip out of San FranciscoGot picked up at the time specified and headed over the Golden Gate Bridge to the Muir Woods. The driver provided great commentary on the Muir Woods and again before each of the wineries we visited. Stopped by the Golden Gate Bridge on the way back for pictures. Would definitely recommend this tourWritten October 3, 2024
- sarahjB3318MQ0 contributionsWorth the long day!If you are thinking of booking this, then do! Yes it's a long day but it is broken up with bathroom and food stops each way. This is the first group tour we've ever done but our tour guide David was amazing and made everyone feel at ease. The picture points are amazing, and the views we will never forget. The alloted time for stops doesn't sound too long but it is plenty of time to take pictures and videos. The hike at the end through the woods is very tough but doable, we had an 81 year old in the group that managed it. Make sure you take water if it's hot. Seeing a little deer at the end of the hike was the cherry on top.Written October 3, 2024
- I8917RJderekg0 contributionsBest time of my lifeYosemite National Park in San Francisco, California was amazing in every aspect. There are many things to explore such as the nature/ environment like the wild animals. Also, there are very cool sightseeing such as water falls. This is why Yosemite National Park was the best time of my life!Written October 1, 2024
- 196LindaC0 contributionsBest trip everyPerfect way to travel when unfamiliar with the territory and no need to worry about drinking and driving. The tour guide was wonderful. I learned so much history about the area and loved being able to pay attention to the scenery instead of the road. The Muir Woods were fantastic as well as the wineries that we stopped at. So nice to have someone else make the plans!!Written September 28, 2024
- Wander133939033080 contributionsGreat 1-Day trip at YosemiteAndy was upbeat, very knowledgeable, kind and funny. Definitely a great experience. Only thing is that the bus is not a newer bus but it’s not bad.Written September 27, 2024

Breathtaking views of granite formations, cascading waterfalls, hiking among giant sequoias — this Yosemite tour is one of the best organized tours I’ve ever been on, and a huge part of it was due to our guide Rob. My partner and I did a half tour on our way up, and he dropped us off at our hotel, where we spent a couple of nights. On our way back, he was right there waiting for us and we hopped on the bus and did the last half of our tour with a new group. Rob was extremely knowledgeable about the backroads and special, little known spots, in addition to the well-known landmarks. He has a vast knowledge of Yosemite the surrounding towns, and Northern California in general. But beyond his knowledge, he has a hilarious sense of humor, and was a great storyteller, weaving his personal experiences into what he was showing us. He was also very patient and at the same time managed to be prompt. This can be challenging with a bus load of people but he pulled it off. We had plenty of time along the way to do hikes, picture taking, and there were snack breaks in as well. Our entire trip was just perfect. We can’t say enough about Rob .The tour was well worth it — actually you get way MORE than your money’s worth!

Yosemite was amazing! Day 1 tour felt a bit rushed - we were only given about 10-15 mins at a stop, but our Day 2 tour was a great one thanks to our guide, Rob! We had a lot more time to view and enjoy each stop on Day 2, and even managed to make a couple extra photo stops as well. Rob showed us the best places to take photos and helped take our photos too!
We had a minor hiccup because one person didn't show up after lunch, even after we waited for half hour. We appreciated that Rob decided to continue the tour instead of wasting our time - we only had limited amount time in Yosemite with only a few hours of sunlight remaining, and would rather not spend it waiting on an irresponsible person who can't keep to the time.
Rob was also informative and funny and we enjoyed the stories he told us about Yosemite, San Francisco and other places we passed by on our way back to the city. If we could give him 10 stars, we would!

We booked the Yosemite two day tour with an overnight stay at Yosemite Valley lodge but didn’t actually get to stay overnight. Our bus driver/ tour guide didn’t tell us we had to leave the tour in the middle of the first day at Yosemite Lodge and go to the hotel and then pick up the tour the next day in the afternoon to come back to San Fran. Nothing was explained to us so we did the whole day tour and ended up having to come back to San Fran on the same day, missing our overnight stay at the Lodge. The tour guide refused to take us back to the Lodge when he realised his mistake and the situation, so therefore we never got to stay in Yosemite and had no choice but to return to San Fran on the same day. He was 30 mins late picking us up at 5am that morning and there was confusion about where pick up was, so we ended up walking to two locations. Awful service, I would never book anything through this company again.

We are very sorry about you missing the overnight stay at the Valley Lodge. Our 2-day tour description and the email confirmation you received prior to the tour clearly explained that you would be taken to the Tuolumne Grove trail on the SECOND day. And based on our review of the tour recorded we reviewed, the guide clearly explained this to the overnight passengers. We wish you would have called us rather than insisting on staying on the bus to see the Giant Sequoias--we would have explained the itinerary to you and things would have been fine. Anyway, we are glad things work out in the end (your review does not mention that we found you last-minute accommodations in San Francisco and covered that cost ourselves). Travel safely home.

Denise was a great guide - warm, knowledgeable, funny and interesting, and she went out of her way to help the group bond.
Yosemite was absolutely spectacular, however I had hoped the trip would be a smaller group. And for the overnight part, it would have been good to have people stay in the same place and more of a guided experience, as it felt like I had to put a lot of effort into the logistics, which a guided tour should really cover. I would have been prepared to pay a bit more if they'd offered that service.

That's so nice of you to say about Denise. We agree and will pass you kind words on to her. The option to have a guided experience on Day 2 is an option on our private charters. Let us know if that would suit you on your next trip to Yosemite.

Andy Howes was the guide on my return from Yosemite. What energy!
Like any other guide, he fed us facts about the park, about California, about his city San Francisco. But Andy did it with his personal touch: waking up the sleepy with songs, making us laugh, he was very endearing.
Ready to take photos at any time, provide water and support people who have more difficulty with physical activities; I start it again 100x. He is a man of small attentions who gives a lot to his work. I was speechless!
Looking forward to meeting Andy again

Extranomical Tours urgently needs new buses. The one used lack a good air conditioning system. It really was an excruciating experience traveling from San Francisco to Yosemite. The drivers were excellent and kind of compensated for the deficient buses. The excursion in Yosemite visited all the iconic places with ample time for photography. But I won’t go again unless I see beforehand the kind of bus I’ll be going.

I am glad we had a chance to talk about your experience traveling through the 100+ degree heat dome on the way to Yosemite. We appreciate your understanding of the challenge that this presents and are glad that we are able to put things right with you. Hope to see you in the future.

Excellent trip! Very easy to get around from hotel to yosemite and back.
Extranomical bus was easy to identify.
Both drivers were extremely informative. They deserve bonuses, making multiple stops for us to get food and see additional sights.
Special mention to Rob on the way back, very informative, down to earth, personal. Would gladly have him as a tour guide any day. He knows all the good food places and recommended them to us for the rest of our trip.

Amazing trip to Yosemite it is somewhere I have always wanted to visit. I would definitively consider the 2 day option.
Day 1 felt a little rushed and you get 10mins to take a photo then move on. Day 2 was a little more relaxed and the guide Andy was great. I will 100% go back there for longer next time to enjoy the hiking.
