    • Confirmation will be received at time of booking
    • Not recommended for travelers with back problems
    • Not recommended for pregnant travelers
    • Most travelers can participate
    • GoCars hold a maximum of 2 people. Prices are per GoCar - not per person.
    • Driver must be 21 years or older to rent and must provide a major credit card and valid driver’s license at the time of check-in. A driver’s license must be in the customer’s physical possession (no photocopy). For foreign customer’s, an international license is not necessary.
    • Passengers must be 4 years of age or older - and small children must safely fit into one of our DOT approved helmets. The GoCar is registered as a motorcycle - but a motorcycle license is not required to operate the vehicle.
    • All renters must be able to read, understand and sign a liability release and waiver form (standard participant agreement)
    • On the day of rental, a $500 security deposit will be held on the customer’s credit card. If a CDW or SLI insurance plan is selected, a $300 security deposit will be held. The security deposit is released when the GoCar is returned.

    • Do you have to stay on the tour? We recommend staying on the route. There are several fun detours included in the tour.
    • Vehicles: Are controlled with a motorcycle-style handle, throttle, and hand brakes. The 3-wheeled cars seat two and have a lockable trunk for your things. Their small size makes parking a breeze, and in San Francisco - a major bonus!
    • How fast does the car go? Up to 35-mph. Most roads on tour are residential or in parks, therefore an average speed of 30-mph or less can be expected while driving.
    • Can you cross the Golden Gate Bridge? No, but the tour will navigate you to Fort Point. Here the bridge soars about 200-feet above your head. It is possible to gain pedestrian access to the bridge span from the car park at the bridge vantage point.
    • What is a CDW? Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is an optional form of insurance similar to rental car insurance that limits your liability in case of accident. It is non-refundable. If you opt to purchase the CDW your deposit for rented a GoCar is only USD$300.00 instead of USD$500.00
    • This is a private tour/activity. Only your group will participate

    • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the experience.

The most fun way to see San Francisco
Amazing experience, you get to cover a lot of San Fran in the most fun way possible. The gocars are easy to ride and the GPS tour has all kinds of interesting tidbits. Also a great way to make new friends, we had a ton of nice comments and thumbs ups while we were gadding about!

Was lots of fun and staff were good to deal with and helpful.
This was a fun day to get to a whole bunch of SF areas that wouldn’t known about. The information provided through the GoCar tour was interesting and informative.

      Time well spent!
Even with 3 hours there was so much more to see. The GPS guide was very entertaining along the route and most accurate. We will do it again tomorrow for the hidden routes. Amazing ride!

      Go car experience was exciting
The trip was exciting we had loads of fun. The drive along the shores of the sea with the breeze was relaxing. The guided tour was informative and helps to go safe through the uphill.

      A Day in the City
We live in the bay area and this excursion was a birthday gift for my partner. While we know the City well, taking the GoCar tour we saw the sights through a different lens. We had a great time and recommend this excursion for tourists and locals alike. Jose was very accommodating and offered great customer service. We'll be back!

The best way to see the sights
So much fun! Can’t imagine a better way to see the sights than via this unique self paced, GPS guided tour. We booked online and the staff were great. The “cars” are so easy to come to terms with, not at all intimidating, even for us who drive on the wrong side of the road. Great value, can’t recommend highly enough

The cars are easy to drive and the other drivers are considerate of your size and abilities. Easy to park and a fun and unique way to explore the city.

      3-hour tour a must do!
So fun! Got to see all the highlights of San Fran at our own pace. The GPS worked flawlessly and we were able to stop at all the key points for photos. A must do! It was chilly in the morning so bring a jacket if you go earlier!

      So Fun!
Very fun! Parks were beautiful and I got a kick out of seeing the houses featured in’Full House’. The people on the street got a smile out of seeing the gocart.

      Go Car San Francisco
Amazing experience - though scary on the US roads at times.! Well recommended Safety video before you head off. The car is set with GPS and takes you on a choice of routes that last 1 hour

Awesome experience, great navigation and interesting tour facts.
So fun! Highly recommend. Go for the longest tour you can. My 15 year old dog and I toured the city. She has cancer and I wanted her to enjoy the sights of san francisco before she passes. Did she sit the whole time? No. Did she love Lombard street? Also, no. But the time and adventure together was priceless.

See the "real" San Francisco from a different perspective.
The views were amazing, we were able to access areas that would have been more difficult by car. It was fun to ride in the GoCar and feel the wind on my face. The GPS guidance map was easy to use. The only problem we had was that the engine sound was loud so we had some difficulty hearing the GPS guidance when it was telling us the information. Be aware, the two-seater GoCar option is a low riding vehicle, and pretty cozy with two small/average build adults inside. If you have trouble sitting down low, or climbing in and out, it may not be comfortable for you. You have the option to get out and visit some of the sites. This is a unique experience, if you can make the time for it.

      Fun and Unique Experience
We had so much fun riding around and listening to the audio guided tour! The workers were friendly and helpful. The GoCar was easy to operate, but it may be time to do some upgrading. The seats and floor mats were worn out. There were times when the audio tour would be talking about something, and then cut off mid sentence to talk about something else. The negatives do not outweigh the fun and experience, so I would still recommend this activity!

While I had a lot of fun on the GoCar tour, there are a few things that keep me from giving the whole experience a 5 out of 5.

The people checking you in and the person telling you about the route were not the friendliest. I understand they were probably a little overwhelmed with a lot of people checking in and what not, but good customer service is crucial especially during busy times.

As you're checking in you are informed of a $500 deposit hold that’s placed on your card if you do not wish to purchase insurance. I realized this deposit was not mentioned until after I booked and got my email confirmation… it was in the fine print that I am sure no one reads. This deposit is not mentioned anywhere on the website, but there is mention of an insurance sale for $26. As a consumer, this is a little deceiving.
FYI: The card you use for the deposit, is also the card they will charge if you go over on time. ($1 per minute you go over your tour time.)

Once you’re checked in, you watch a video to tell you how to use the carts and go over the rules and safety precautions, and when you're done you step outside where an instructor shows you again how to use the cart. The carts are like motorcycles, so you don't have to step on the brakes with your feet.

The carts have a full tank of gas and are equipped with a little navigation system that shows and tells you where you are going. Once you start the tour, it's all at your own pace. The navigation system tells you stories as you get to specific points on the tour and it's actually a nice little entertaining as you drive around.

The con of the navigation system: It will have ALL routes on it, not just your specific route.
Personally, I would have liked the navigation system to have the specific tour we paid for, because it’s easy to get lost with so many routes. Especially if you're assigned a specific car when you check in. I also noticed that if you end up on a street that’s not on the designated routes, the system will stop talking, so be aware of this little issue that may arise.

The tour itself is a fun little experience. You get to drive through various places you normally wouldn’t, and you get to park and walk around if you want to spend a little time in a specific area or take pictures if you’d like. I did a 3 hour tour, and I ended up needing more time! =)

I would recommend this tour, if you are looking for something fun to do for the day. Just be aware of the deposit, the price you pay if you go over your time, and the fact that the GPS system can get a little confusing since it has all the routes on it.

This was by far the best choice we made. We were exposed to so many different parts of SF that I’m sure we would not have found on our own exploring. Amazing guided tour. The staff were also super friendly and awesome. We headed back to not go over our time and when we returned they allowed us to go back down Lombard street without any additional charges. The cars are super cute and easy to maneuver around. The GPS even Cracked jokes while giving details of the surroundings. I would definitely recommend to a first timer.

My husband and I enjoyed this self guided tour. It was unique and fun. We got to see the whole city in half of a day and return to our favorite sites for an extended visit on our own the next day. I would do this again with my older children on a future trip.

It should be written in BOLD letters that they will take $500 as a deposit!!! I didn't see that anywhere! The GPS should be interactive! It was hard to hear especially with all the noise around, drivers should be given a headset. The map should have an option if you are out of track, and should warn when to make a left or right, not when you are at the intersection! as it is hard to make turns right at the corner if you are not on the proper lane!!

My third time in SF and I saw things on this tour and in a way I’ve never been able to do by renting a car or taking a big bus tour. The cars are relatively easy to maneuver, the “tour guide” gives great information as you go. Tip: wear sunscreen…it’s so breezy you won’t realize your are getting sunburn. Also have a phone with you with your own GPS in case you go off course you can find your way back! I would highly recommend, and I would do this in other cities as well

Trip Advisor hadn't sent the booking to the office so we had to wait an hour on the phone to get it sorted. The weather was miserable and the hire company did not have the option to hire a blanket or gloves. The directions were unclear and hard to hear, but if you turned up the volume, you got blasted when music played. Often you were told about something to look at as you went past it and did not have a chance to prepare for it or find some where to park. The car was dirty, both outside and in. I doubt they spray the helmets between customers either. And there was no extra information or assistance about road rules, etc for international drivers, we were just left to our own devices. There was no timer on the GPS so we had no idea how much time we had left of our purchased time period, which was none after we had gotten lost due to the poor directions.

Our family did the early bird tour and loved it. The cars were easy to drive. They do not go in reverse but were easy to push if you needed to back up for any reason. We rented from the location near Fisherman's Wharf. Friendly staff. GPS tells you exactly where to go and gives you lots of info about what you are seeing. We were only in town for the weekend with no car so this was a fantastic way to cover a lot of ground and see the city in a short amount of time. Loved that you can stop and get out of the vehicle to take pictures and tour at your leisure. Grab a coffee at the Golden Gate Visitor Center (it's so good and I don't even drink coffee). Driving down Lombard Street was awesome! Super fun tour.
