About
Discover Silicon Valley history makers from the early pioneers to today’s tech revolutionaries. Visit the modest origins and the now sprawling campuses of giants Apple, Facebook and Google. Learn what makes this the place for startups pushing the boundaries of technology. Your 1-day tour of Silicon Valley begins at the front door of your San Francisco hotel. We’ll start early to enjoy a full day exploring how a handful of Santa Clara county cities started a digital revolution and changed the world. While riding in comfort down the San Francisco Peninsula, you’ll hear how Silicon Valley’s original “nerds”, like Frederick Terman, William Shockley, Bill Hewlett, Dave Packard and (much later) Mark Zuckerberg, got their starts

Cancelled
Aug 2019
The tour was cancelled 2 days in advance. I have seen in the previous reviews that this happens, I guess I was hoping this is not that common.

Grigoru - We are dreadfully sorry not to have been able to host you on a tour of Silicon Valley. As you suspected, it is an occasional event on new tours (we launched this a year ago) when not enough guests want to do the tour on a certain day. I know that you were fully refunded and were offered the opportunity to do any of our other tours as an alternative. Next time you are in SF, let us know and we will get you on the Silicon Valley tour "on the house"!

Fantastic trip
Jun 2019 • Couples
Our guide was Frank and he was amazing, from the minute we got on the bus he was giving us information and was very funny, this guy made the trip.We headed to Facebook and yes we knew before we went to the IT companies we were not going to get in, but we took our photos of these famous landmarks, Google and Apple. We went to the Apple visitor center, and we were taken to the garage where Hewlett Packard started, then headed to Stanford University, this was an eye opener for us as Brits, boy do the Americans look after their children and rightly so they are the future, a well informed student gave us a tour and we had lunch there. Then we headed to the computer museum which was really interesting, we are not computer geeks at all but it was worth the trip when we were in San Francisco. Once again though Thanks to Frank he made the trip so well worth it.

Do not take this tour
May 2019 • Solo
Do not take this tour, it is a total waste of money. We spent more time driving around in a van and random gift shops than anything else. Anyone can drive by these tech companies on their own. The companies are highly secured, so there are no tours inside the companies. This company needs to do research to make sure places are open. The Tech Museum was closed, and the Google visitor center was closed over two months ago. The driver, Randall, was nice and courteous. It would have been nice to have spent more time walking the campus of Stanford and around the town of Palo Alto.

So sorry to hear you were disappointed. We would love to do a bit more at the tech giant's campuses but none allow visitors past internal security on their very private grounds. Most guests enjoy the Instagram shots in front of their marque signs -- sorry you did not. We'll consider your suggestions about Stanford and Palo Alto for the future.

hopeless tour and hopeless management
Nov 2018 • Couples
I booked this tour in advance, and then at the last moment, it was cancelled because of insufficient number of bookings. I again rebooked the same tour as per their given date, and again at the last moment, it was cancelled, and then again third time, they booked the same tour for me by their sister concern- Incredible Adventures.

For this specific, one day sillicon valley tour, there is no need to book it, it is just hopeless. Just going to facebook name board, google store and apple store to take the photo, and not going inside anywhere. Only computer history museum was very good, and that we can go at our own also.

I am very dissatisfied with Extranomical Tours.
They certainly do not live up to their "Satisfaction Guaranteed" puffery used on every website page.
On Tuesday, we confirmed 2 tours by phone, the Wine Tour for Wednesday and the Silicon Valley 1-Day Tour from San Francisco on Saturday, and gave their receptionist my cell number. They advised that the pickup point for both tours was outside Holiday Inn, opposite the Marriott, where we are staying. The wine tour was fine.
On Saturday, when the coach did not arrive, I phoned and the office who said the tour was cancelled owing to insufficient bookings. They had phoned the Holiday Inn, but we were not there.
Their office is so incompetent that they do not record contact details or phone numbers in order to contact customers if there are changes.
I cannot understand why their Silicon Valley tour is so badly patronised, since I was unable to book a replacement tour in view that all the others offered by other operators were all sold out.
I took my own tour that day with Uber between each attraction.

First, we are glad you enjoyed your Redwoods and Wine Country tour with us. Regarding the Silicon Valley tour, we are sorry that it did not reach the minimum number of guests to run and that a replacement tour was unavailable. This is a wonderful tour and we hope in the future it will run every day. You were refunded completely and apologize for the inconvenience. Please try us again on your next visit.
