About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 64janelleh0 contributionsTour operator canceledI booked the San Francisco food tour. Less than a week before my tour, the operator told me they had no guides for the day I booked and that I could either select a different day or cancel my booking. Since we were only available that one day, I had to cancel my booking. It's unfortunate that the company doesn't have enough staff to fulfill the dates and times they are showing available.Written October 14, 2024
- ELF61320 contributionsLots of good local food! Great tour of San Francisco food scene! We asked for an early food tour and Maria was able to take us to some great places! She was very knowledgeable about culture, history, and food. She was born in San Francisco so she knew many of the people where we stopped. We walked from our hotel (a few blocks from Fisherman's Wharf) to North Beach (Italian) and Chinatown. Our first stop was fresh ground coffee- we didn't get any to drink as not available. Then to Italian bakery. We had great coffee and sweets! She explained sites along the way and pointed out great places to each lunch and supper. She bought us some things to eat later at the bakery. We had the BEST fresh focaccia bread!!!! Then to Chinatown. It was so unique to walk all the fresh markets. She loaded us up with some food from a local restaurant. We saw the ladies making fortune cookies. Then we went to another local restaurant to eat some lunch. It was delicious!! The tour ended here and we walk back to hotel by ourselves. It is important that you can walk long distances if you do this tour.Written June 14, 2024
- jtm3590 contributionsWonderful visit to the "City by the Bay"My friend and I visited San Francisco this past August and it was a wonderful experience. Kathy helped guide us around the city while we were there. Although I was born in SF, it was my friend's first time there and Kathy made sure to show her all the best places around the city. In addition to showing us the iconic landmarks (Nob Hill, Golden Gate Bridge, Palace of Fine Arts, etc.), she also showed us some of the hidden local favorite spots too. Her knowledge of San Francisco was very impressive, and she was very accommodating and patient in answering all of our questions. We really enjoyed our time with Kathy and would highly recommend her to all first-time visitors to the city.Written November 15, 2023
- danielle g0 contributionsNot a Wine TourThis was a WINE Tasting tour. We filled out a surgery on our likes and dietary restrictions. (no dairy for us and no white wine). We got to the market place to meet up with Maria. Our first stop was an iced chocolate drink with milk. Then she took us to a store for shopping. Then in the same building, we sat down to have a wine tasting with cheese and bread. Me and my friend had to SHARE the glasses of the wine tasting. I would have expected we would have gotten our own glasses for tasting and not have to share the 2oz samples. Then Maria took us to a tea house for hot tea in the same building. How is this a wine tour? And we did not see and taste from different places. NOT what was advertised at all and I do not recommend.Written July 14, 2023

Wine tasting and a detour at a tea house while waiting for the winery.Winery had technical difficulties, so our guide, Maria, took us to a tea house while we waited for the winery to open. Fabulous tea and food.Written July 14, 2023

- V7468ILalexp0 contributionsSan Francisco stop over tourMaria was a fantastic guide and showed us all around the Mission district of San Francisco. She was very warm, friendly and outgoing and passionate about showing us the sights of an area she obviously knew intimately. We only had a short amount of time on our stop over but she helped us cram lots in and shared all her local knowledge. Thanks for an amazing tour Maria!Written April 22, 2023
- Christi Ann A0 contributionsMaria is great :-)Very good Tour! Maria was very knowledgeable and tailored the tour to our interests. The Embarcadero and Market building had many great shops and the tour price included both food and wine tasting! We had frozen hot chocolate, charcuterie with the wine tasting, an authentic Italian dessert, Italian soda, and espresso to finish off the tour. Since we skipped tasting local seafood we were treated to a bottle of wine to go! Maria was a very positive and informative guide. She loves San Fran and this is evident in her energy for the city. She suggested a walking route “home” (to the hotel) through Chinatown which also led us to the higher end shopping! Great walking tour! Very leisurely pace. Walked 0.9 mile to our meet up spot, 1mike on the tour, and 1 mile back to the hotel. Perfect afternoon activity!Written March 31, 2023
- NiclasC350 contributionsTasting experience with MariaWe had a great time with Maria which was an top notch guide to local wines and San Francisco in general. We also got the oppurtunity to taste local sea dishes which was a perfect match to the wines she picked to us. Highly recommended!Written January 15, 2023
- 224gails0 contributionsA great deal ad a great experience!MARIA WAS WONDERFUL! She personalized our tour and made things easy and comfortable. We saw things we'd have never seen without her. Don't be afraid t something like this instead of or in addition to a group tour situation to see the cooler things in the city that the big tours don't/can't show you. We road the F cars and the traditional cable cars to the wharf, the museum, and the Ferry Building, China Town, we walked and ate, and had an overall great day in the city!Written November 24, 2022
- sonsofxavier0 contributionsWonderful slice of SFMy guide, Maria, had an effervescent love for the city, and was delighted to share it with me. I learned so much & explored areas I might not have sought for it on my own. Maria was generous and insightful, and I definitely recommend touring SF with her!Written July 25, 2022
- angelabeano0 contributionsA Must See in San FranciscoOur tour of San Francisco included information about the street art in the Mission district. We were not prepared for how wonderful it was. Definitely go and see this talent on display in so many different medias. Driven by the history and often the women in the district this art is amazingWritten June 27, 2022
- M1551AUmelanieb0 contributionsNot as advertisedUnfortunately I can not give a glowing review.. perhaps our guide was not familiar with the food ..but our experience was more “history of San Francisco “ related than food. My husband and I have taken many food tours and this was not as advertised. We did not have “tastings” we had 2 meals. The guide was not able to offer any history of the food...or suggest anything other than what we thought we would like. It was like going to a restaurant with a friend and not knowing what to order. There was no information on the the restaurant ..other than it was a great place to eat. We managed to walk A LOT in the NorthBeach area..and found some really cools places (not on our tour). We ate pizza at a cool shop ..but really didn’t learn much more than our guide liked their pizza the best. It appeared to me that we were asking more questions than our host would offer. Although he could answer many questions...he did not offer anything more. Nice guy...but not the tour we had in mind.Written January 5, 2020
- Lisa W0 contributionsFoodie tour of ChinatownOur tour was so much fun and educational. Fion did a great job picking out our dishes. She shared her vast knowledge of the area and was so engaged with us to make sure the tour reflected our wishes to learn about the culture and to try new foods. Highly recommend!Written November 10, 2019

Walking tour with Kathy was a terrific way to make the most of our short stay in San Francisco. As well as learning about the history of the city, we saw some great sights, ate some yummy food and got recommendations you can only get from someone with local knowledge. Kathy is passionate about her city which made the tour really engaging and fun.
