Very disappointed 5 hour trip in mini bus with 13 others to get there , walked around sat at swing bridge to have lunch full of wasps , so had to move soon as they seen food booms hundreds of them so can't sit and eat outside , which rep stopped at a place on way so you can pick up lunch as expensive in cafe there , can't sit in cafe with your own food so eat it walking around fighting of wasps 😡😡😡😡😡😡 the waterfalls had no water this time of year so not much to look at little man made sort of beach and rocks then 5 hours back a very very long way for a disappointing trip 😡😡💥😡 very stunning views but that's about it

Excellent Yosemite tour with guide Kurt
Excellent tour, our guide Kurt was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Communication in advance was very good and additional pictures and info sent after the trip was very nice. I would highly recommend Bay Area Tours!

          Viktor enhanced our experience.
The weather was beautiful and the scenery spectacular. Viktor made the day even more special with his knowledgeable commentary, his humour and the care for his guests. I could not fault any aspect of the day. Sincerest thanks.

          An amazing day!
Our tour guide Phil Siegel was fantastic!!! What we loved the most was his enthusiasm for the sites and wanting us to get the most out of our time. One of the best sights was the climbers on El Capatan. Phil brought out telescopes and binoculars for even better views. The whole trip, 14 hours, was entertaining from the music on the bus to Phil's retelling of stories and legends to a movie at the end Recommend this trip!!

Perfect Tour and Perfect Guide - Worth the Long Day!
I could not flaw this day nor the tour host, Viktor. The day was seamless from pick-up to drop-off. at 5:40am Viktor picked us up from outside the hotel and even that early in the morning, had a bright smile. After everyone was picked up, we headed on our way where Viktor explained the itinerary for the day. The first stop is at Raley's in Oakdale (the perfect place to pick up a hand-made sandwich for lunch in the park) followed by a quick trip to Sons Farm Fresh market, where they gave us fresh fruit to try and a walk around their pumpkin patch and petting zoo. From there we continued upwards into the mountains where the park speaks for itself. For entertainment on the journey, Viktor told us many interesting facts about Yosemite National Park and played some interesting documentaries. We honestly saw everything one could possibly want to see in one day at the parks, lots of photo opportunities and a good amount of free-time to eat lunch and explore with your own family/couple. Luckily, we was ahead of time, so we was able to visit the Yosemite National Park sign for a photo before heading off to the Giant Sequoia Tree walk - which you should definitely not underestimate! It is a 400ft decline over a mile long which makes for a tough walk back up. If you can manage the walk, definitely do not miss out on this opportunity! Finally, we was on the way home and stopped in Oakdale once more to get dinner (there are a few local places alongside Wendys, Burger King and others). After that, we was back in the hotel by before 9pm. A very long day, but one well worth it. I couldn't have asked for a better group tour. Thank you!

          Fantastic day in Yosemite
This trip was great. We were initially going to drive to Yosemite but decided to take the trip due to time restrictions…so glad we did. Brian was our driver/tour guide. He was so knowledgeable and helpful, he really did go above and beyond! Yosemite is a beautiful place, we got to see all the main sights, the bus journey was comfortable with plenty of stops along the way. Yes it’s a long day but totally worth it. Great memories, thanks Brian!

Day trip to Yosemite from San Fran was awesome!
We had such a great time on our day trip to Yosemite National Park and we’re glad we chose Best Bay Area Tours with a small tour group of around 15 people. Our guide, Calder, was really great and shared his knowledge of various areas that we drove through on our way to Yosemite and the various places we stopped in Yosemite. The mini van was comfortable enough (the seats at the back of the van were directly underneath the aircon unit which was quite loud) and the ~4 hour drive each way seemed to pass by pretty quickly. About halfway to Yosemite we stopped at Oak Ridge Plaza in Oakdale which has restrooms and a number of shops including a supermarket where you can purchase coffee, food, etc, there is also a KFC and Wendy’s across the car park area. We were super lucky with the weather as we had beautiful clear skies and hot temperatures. In Yosemite we stopped at Tuolomne Grove Trailhead to take a walk amongst the giant sequoia trees (the walk is medium level difficulty as the trail takes you downhill to the largest sequoia but then you need to walk uphill on the return leg), Tunnel View for an awe inspiring view of the valley, El Capitan and a few other places (all of which were great). We then had around 1.5 hours free time around Yosemite lodge area where we decided to go on a few short walks, walked through crystal clear waters of the river and purchased food at the lodge’s restaurant. We felt that 1 day for the trip was perfect for us as we didn’t have alot of time on our trip to San Fransisco and it gave us a good opportunity to get a feel for Yosemite. Having said that we’d love to go back at some stage and spend some more time exploring the area.

Great day out with amazing guide
This is a great tour and Kurt our guide was just phenomenal. He was entertaining, informative, and very attentive to our needs. We went to some great photo spots and did a stunning walk too. Lots of in-bus videos on Yosemite too. A long day but worth every minute! Martin

Yosemite with Back bay Tours. The longest of days! The bestest of days!
What a great tour! As we talked the next morning, we decided we wouldn’t change a thing. Viktor was a great guide for the day #A-ma-zing! He communicated prior to the trip and was prompt, courteous, friendly, informative, funny, etc He made everyone feel comfortable in his “international family.” There were people from around the world on our trip. We made the trip so enjoyable . The trip was long but the stops along the way in the Cowboy capital of the world for breakfast and dinner, the on board informative videos and movies and Viktor’s well timed information, the trip was well timed. The whole point of the trip was Yosemite and the Giant Sequoias. And it did not disappoint. We stopped at key places to take in all the views. We had plenty of time to explore as a group and on our own. The views are breathtaking! One highlight was looking through Viktor’s telescope to see rock climber’s on El Capitan. What a great trip! Book it today!

This was one of the best day trips I’ve ever been on. I only booked the day before, and most tours were full up. I tried using one of the street vendors, who also couldn’t help me out, but a random contact from the bike shop helped me out. When I told the street vendor that I was going with this company she replied’ oh, they are the best, by name and by nature’. Every bit of the day was so well timed and planned out. Our guide, Calder, was a legend and so knowledgeable. It was a long day but well, well worth it.

          Perfect day!
Definitely a 10/10, I would do it again! You get to see a lot of the park for just a day trip, the views are incredible and there's a good balance of group and on your own time. Food options at the grocery stop were good. Kurt was awesome!!! He made the trip fun, comfortable and he knew so much about the park and SF.

Incredible experience - definitely worth it
The small-group day trip to Yosemite was amazing. Although it was a super long day - we got picked up around 5:30am and dropped back 9:30pm, it was definitely worth it to get out to Yosemite. Yosemite is beautiful - being from Australia I've never seen trees so tall! The "rocks" (they're really like mountains) are also incredible. As a nature-lover, it was definitely worth the trip. Doing a small-group tour was really valuable also. It meant that we got to know everyone on our trip, including our tour guide, and felt welcome asking him lots of questions. Our tour guide, Viktor, was awesome - very funny, friendly and lively. He was also super knowledgeable and I appreciated getting to learn the information and history of Yosemite, which comes with doing a tour vs just going yourself. It was a great experience.

Joe, our tour guide was spectacular! So knowledgeable, funny and personable, he had a running commentary on the history of the area, continually pointing out things of interest while we traveled to each destination. Our family of four were the only people on the tour so that made it much more personal. The only disappointment was the weather; quite rainy and foggy so unfortunately we missed some of the spectacular views along the way but still managed to see many wonderful sights, the highlight being baby seals frolicking in the water and laying on the beach! I would absolutely take this tour again. You will not be disappointed!

Thank you, Phil, for such a wonderful , wonderful day. I love the thoughtfulness you put into the commentary, the perfectly-cued music that heightens the experience, the spontaneity at changing things up because you know it will make for an unforgettable moment. I know you didn’t create those redwood masterpieces, and you didn’t really arrange with the weather gods for the fog to roll in like it did, but I am giving you all the credit because your love for your city and the commitment you have to travelers was evident in everything you said and did. Wish we had booked more trips with you but there is just so much to do. I hope there will be a next time—I am almost sure there will because after sharing our photos the rest of my family are clamoring for a trip. Do not forget the trivia about the Pando Aspen Clone! There l, I reminded you. May you live long and prosper…..

Best day ever! For starters we had a knowlegable and fun tour guide named Phil. It was great traveling with a small group. We went to locations which were not tourist ridden such as Armstrong Woods rather than Muir Woods which was equally amazing! Stopped for coffee and pastry which was tres magnific! Really got the flavor of the area such as Bodega Bay home of some locations used in the Alfred Hitchcock movie The Birds. We had a chance to grab a sandwich at Duncan Mills which we enjoyed while picnicking on Goat Beach. Also some quaint little gift shops there at Duncan Mills. Goat Beach was another place where a scene from the movie Goonies was filmed. Then on to Sausalito for some sightseeing and gift shopping. Last stop in front of the Golden Gate Bridge to snap some photos. Well worth the cost for this excursion! We couldn't have been more satisfied!!! Thanks Phil!

Best tour ever! Steve, our charismatic tour guide, made it fun and casual so that the group all became friendly and comfortable with one another! We loved his knowledge of the area and he took us to take photos in locations that only locals would know about.
The itinerary was great...from the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, to the Redwood Forest for an easy walk on flat terrain (the trees were magnificent), then onto a small village to purchase lunch to bring to the ocean for a picnic. We could have stared at that incredible view forever! Last stop to Sausalito, an upscale, charming town on the water. The day went by way too fast and it truly was magical. We would do it all over again if we could!
Take this tour! You will learn alot about the history of the places you see and will be awestruck over the diverse places you will experience.
A BIG shout out to our tour guide, Steve, who went above and beyond to show us a good time!

Brian was a fantastic guide and did his best to make it a great trip. He was knowledgeable and fun, but overall, the tour was disappointing. A bit less time at Armstrong Woods and another interesting stop would have been nice. We thought it would be more scenic, but a good portion is spent in city traffic. The tour description says 45 min. in Sausalito, but we barely had 25, so we couldn't really even look around. I would highly recommend Brian as a guide, but this trip itself wasn't worth the cost.

I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to visit Muir Woods during a recent return vacation to San Fransisco. The walk through the woods is close to the city and although the drive approaching the woods can be difficult, the visit there was well worth it. As we were on a tour bus, I wish we had more time to sit and take in the surroundings than the rush through we experienced. I'll have to come back another day!!

Brian was AWESOME! His knowledge of the history of the area was great. Some great stories and never a dull moment. His ability to read the room and engage when needed was really a compliment to his obvious love for the area. I recommend his tour for anyone lookin to go off the beaten bath for a great pic...which he will take for you if needed. Just a great guy and tour without being on top of you. Great experience. Thank you Brian!!

Today, Phil fulfilled one of my bucket list trips, of which all three formed the dream from many years ago.
Nothing was too much trouble, Phil made a real effort to make the whole day, informative, enjoyable with a great touch of humour added in.
The choice of route, areas selected could not be faulted, giving an idea of the best California has to offer.
I had a fantastic day, thank you Best Area Tours team, especially our tour guide Phil.

        The Good:
Despite the title of this review, Brian (tour guide) made this trip worthwhile and enjoyable with his energy and vast knowledge of the sights. We couldn't really check out the coastline due to the bad weather. So Brian called and audible gave us extra time to explore and have a longer lunch.. Now he may have dropped the ball on the food recommendations in Sausalito, but made up for it with his ability to take pictures (Still waiting for the group photo). This tour was so fun that me, my wife & another member of the tour almost got lost within the forest (LOL). The weather cleared up and it picture taking time. This tour was a blast and the van wasn't full so that was good.

        The Bad:
If I recall correctly, the title states that we would be traveling in a "luxury" van. This van was far from any type of luxury van I've ridden in before and it was a little on the dirty side.

        The Ugly:
Speaking of the van... Midway into the trip as the rain was coming down hard, the van started to leak pretty bad where my wife was sitting. Luckily there were empty seats in front of us and we moved up. Between the cleanliness, the leak and misrepresentation of the van I felt I need to take a away a point.

Other than that I definitely recommend this tour and Brian as a guide.

So much fun! Great stories and history of the attractions, trees, parks, city, bridges and more. Beautiful scenic tour with Phil. Saulsalito was great with may lunch options. We took the ferry back to fisherman’s wharf and got a great view of the city and Alcatraz! The Tour bus was nice. Overall highly recommend!!!
