It rained through my whole trip in San Francisco so my brother and I decided to take the night tour since it was included in our tickets. We didn't expect to see much since it was cold and pouring but ended up having a great time with Blake's jokes. I have been on many tour buses around the world and can 100% say that Blake was the best host over. This guy is an entertainer and deserves his own show! He went out of his way from singing to hopping around the bus to make sure everyone was having fun despite the weather. I will say that we sat inside and didn't get to see much so I definitely recommend sitting on the top if doing the night tour.

We had such a funny night tonight, Blake the guide was extremely entertaining and had to improvise as downtown San Francisco was closed due to a parade so we didn’t take the usual route. He didn’t stop talking and his information and anecdotes were informative and funny. Thank you to Derek for driving. We would highly recommend this tour. Thanks from Team England!

We had an amazing time on the Bus during the Night tour. We went at the end of January and it was chilly when we were driving on the highway, but expected! San Francisco holds a lot of history. It is a very entertaining tour and great introduction to the city in general. We paid for the night tour and we got a hop on hop off free ride for the next day. That was a good deal! They would stop by on the Treasure Island for 10 minutes, so you can take a photo of the Golden bridge at night. That was cool

I second guessed booking this the moment we walked to the pier. Staff was very pushy. They Pretty much empty one bus just to fill it up again. (It was way to cold for us to sit on the top.) walking into the bus all I noticed was how dirty it was. There was garbage everywhere. People were bringing food and drinks on the bus and not cleaning up after themselves. Clearly there is no sanitizing of anything happening if even the garbage isn’t picked up in between bus loads of people.

Next the tour starts and we realize it’s all automated and you listen thru headphones. Which wouldn’t be a huge deal if there is no traffic and your bus makes all the lights. Our bus was stopped at a few traffic lights so the audio tour was off. It was telling us to look at something that we couldn’t even see yet. So not a personal experience or story from your guide, the guide just drives.

The highlight of our tour was our bus broke down so they were going to send a new one. After about 20 minutes we just ditched the tour and walked off. We had dinner reservations we didn’t want to miss and the tour wasn’t the greatest anyhow. Even without the bus breaking down or if it was clean it still wouldn’t be worth the $40-$50 per person for an audio tour. My advise would be to only go on a nice day where you won’t freeze on top, that could be the only way this tour may be enjoyable.

This is a brilliant way to see San Fran by night and the scenery didn’t disappoint. Definitely wrap up warm as it is pretty cold sat for 2hrs. The reason for my marmite comment is I’d seen lots of differing opinions about Blake our tour guide for the evening. His singing and energy was brilliant but I’m afraid we felt lost in translation as he made lots of US references that went over our British heads and at times spoke so fast we struggled with the head sets to understand what he was saying. Having said that we’d been on a day tour so felt we knew enough so sat back and enjoyed the views.

The bus tour was ok. Nothing great but also not bad. The peak point was treasure island. The bus driver was not easily understandable. The guided tour was a bit poor. A large part of attractions were skipped in the tour (eg, the museum of fine arts, the painted ladies,…)

Just go and buy several $3 MUNI tickets and ride the route. You will not notice much difference, but the price!

If you still want to pay 15 times more, then at least do it during summer time. It is freaking cold on the second deck in February in San Francisco, especially taking into account that you will cross the bridge.

Thank you for your review and feedback of Big Bus San Francisco. We are so sorry to hear you did not enjoy the audio on the bus. Not all of our buses are equipped with a live guide, generally every other departing bus will contain a live guide during winter months. The free Big Bus app, is available to download and it will indicate which buses contain live guides versus pre-recorded commentary. San Francisco is typically a breezy city. During winter season it does get colder so we do recommend to wear a warmer jacket and a hat even if you're not riding on a top deck. We do hope that you will give us another chance in the future as we want all of our customers to have a great experience. If you have anything further you would like to discuss please contact us directly at infosf@bigbustours.com

Don and Kelvin were great. Don is knowledgeable and shared a lot of good information about the city. Very friendly and kind, cares about his customers. Great customers service skills. Kelvin is a great driver! It can be difficult to drive a big bus in San Francisco! We will definitely recommend to friends and family. Thank you Don and Kelvin for a great experience.

We had the most unbelievably awesome time on the night tour with Bianca and Al. We have done Big Bus tours before, but have never laughed and smiled as much as we did with Bianca. She addressed my 10 year old several times and it made his night. When we stopped for a picture break Bianca and Al were so personable and great to have a conversation with.

Thanks guys! Made the night a highlight of our vacation.
