- 931laurencep0 contributionsGreat FunThis Madame Tussauds does the brand proud. Plenty of local content which you don;t see in other exhibits. The detail is amazing as always. We all had great fun. Our entance was part of a pass, but the prices on the door would be worth paying.Written August 18, 2024
- D5686YUrm0 contributionsTHOUGH MY MIND KNEW THAT WHAT WE ARE GOING WITNESS IS ONLY WAX STATUES BUT IT TOOK TIME TO REGISTER IN MY MIND ITS NOT RIT TOOK SOMETIME TO SINK IN THAT WHAT I WAS WITNESSING WAS ONLY WAX STATUE AND NOT REAL PERSONS. STATUES WERE NICELY ARRANGED ACTIVITY WISE LIKE SPORTS, FILM PERSONALITIES, POLITICIANS ETC. WHEN I WENT TO GET MYSELF PHOTOGRAPHED STANDING IN BETWEEN THE PRESIDENT AND THE VICE PRESIDENT I FELT AS IF SOMEBODY IS OBSERVING ME FROM A SHORT DISTANCE MAKING ME FEEL SLIGHTLY UNCOMFORTABLE, BUT TO MY SURPRISE IT WAS NON OTHER THAN THE EYES OF JT.MARTIN LUTHER KING STARING AT ME. SIMILARLY WHEN I WAS PASSING A PERSON LEANING ON A WALL FOR A MOMENT I FELT THAT REAL STEVEN SPIELBERG WAS WATCHING MY MOVEMENT. THE STATUES WERE MADE TO LOOK VERY REAL WAS BEAUTIFUL AND NEAR REALISTIC, WOW I JUST COULDN'T BELIEVE MYSELF THAT THE CASUAL STAND WAS JUST A WAX STATUE. THE STATUES WERE MADE TO LOOK VERY BEAUTIFUL AND NEAR REALISTIC THE DETAILS OF MAKING THE STATUES THE TIME SPENT ON IT MORE PARTICULARLY HOW THE HAIRS WERE IMPLANTED THE COMMENTARY GIVING THE DETAILS WAS VERY APT. I HAVE ALREADY PASSED THE INFORMATION TO MY FRIENDS IN INDIA. I HAVE MADE IT A POINT TO VISIT THIS PLACE AS AND WHEN I VISIT SAN JOSE, CA.Written June 17, 2024
- angelaswest0 contributionsAwesome Activities! It’s a must go. The Dungeon is quite exciting, the actors are professional and you get to learn something about the history of San Francisco.Written January 11, 2023
- TravisD0070 contributionsSeemed small for the priceI've been to several Madame Tussauds all over the world and this one seemed fairly small and not really worth the price. It has what you would expect, celebrity wax statues and fun photo ops, which is what I love about MTs. This location just seemed really small and at almost $100 for a combo ticket with Ripley's, it's pretty pricey. Definitely could be a good option if it's a rainy day. Ripley's however is definitely a cool stop. Much more interactive and if you stopped to read everything, you could be in there for hours.Written November 15, 2022
- Marecar Anne Q0 contributionsThis was a lot of fun and tend to be really quick. We didn't take pictures as much where some people take with every stars they pass on. It's quite cool that the celebrities are categorized where they belong: sports, musicians, actors, etc. SF Dungeon has good theatrics, and amazing anticipation, but not a lot of scare tactics. Real fun still.Written December 19, 2019
- megan h0 contributionsAwful awful staff!Awful place to visit!! Both of them and that is because of their staff! Gave me an email address (which is on their website) for complaints and told me it would be dealt with once I sent an email and all emails have been ignored for 2 months! All these people want is your money and once they have that, to hell with you!!Written December 14, 2019
- Peter B0 contributionsA normalt experienceHave visited several Madame Tussauds around the world, and there were nothing special about this one. There were a bit more local that is normal, with both tech personals as well as the hippie era. The downside is that the feeling of the place is that it is sort of abandon. There should be a en souvenir shop, it is closed, and looks abandon. Some of the clothes on the wax figures was torn and it is pretty worn the whole place. We got the entrance fee as part of a deluxe Big Bus ticket, otherwise we wouldn't have spent money on it.Written October 26, 2019
- steven0102030 contributionsVery interestingWhile I was In San Francisco I visiting madame Tussaud this building has 3 or 4 lever as I can remember So many actresses and actors here also barrack Obama and so many more I love this Madame Tussaud’s San Francisco this is remarkable and iconiiiiiiicWritten September 30, 2019
- darrellb530 contributionsWeirdly rubbishWe got free tickets to Tussaud’s with our Big Bus pass and had a rainy day, so thought ‘why not’. If I’d paid to go in, I’d have been very upset. We found a vagrant sleeping in the VW camper van in the main lobby. The exhibits were sparsely scattered around a large area - nothing like the original Tussaud’s in London and more like an overspill storage unit for unwanted waxworks. The Steve McQueen must be turning in his grave over the fit of the trousers they’ve dressed him in.Written September 21, 2019
- ishelli0 contributionsFun time had by all!Definitely worth a look, something to capture the interest of all ages! Lots of interactive fun to be had, and great opportunities to have a selfie with the ‘stars’Written September 8, 2019
- emerald820 contributionsGreat experienceThis place was awesome and I had a great time there. It was much larger than others I have visited and had all of the most famous current and past celebrities. It was set up and sectioned off very well and I liked how the exhibits were set up to nightlight the talents and contributions of the person on display. I look forward to visiting more of her museums.Written September 6, 2019
- Sam_geddes0 contributionsGood but not greatWhat you would expect from a Madame Tussaud’s. Smaller than London. A good range of statues. Quite pricey but a good rainy day touristy activityWritten September 5, 2019
- Rene V0 contributionsDungeonActors are anoying, the look like they're forced to do the presentation. I cheked the reviews before going, they were good, but the result was disaponting, I guess everybody has diferent opinions or points of viewsWritten August 8, 2019
- gerasimosd2010 contributionsJust another Madame TussaudsWe visited Madame Tussauds while in San Francisco but it wasn’t something different to the ones we visited in Europe. We kind of knew that beforehand, although we had some spare time and that’s why we decided to visit it again. We wouldn’t recommend to make it a priority if you have been to another Madame Tussauds before.Written July 24, 2019
- Janet P0 contributionsA Great Combination!!!!The 3 in 1 is a great deal. The wax museum is fun and has lots to see. Very interactive in that you can take lots of pictures with your favourite celebrities. The dungeons of San Francisco is a great tour. Telling the history in an amusing way and managing to scare you at some point. Alcatraz is a must see. The history there while sad is very interesting. The audio tour is very well done. Even if you don’t book the 3 in 1 make sure you book Alcatraz before you come. It fills up quickly and you might not get a spot on the day you want. Worth the trip.Written June 3, 2019

FYI, I went through the whole thing in about half hour. Madame Tussaud’s exhibits are near perfection as always. The likenesses of all the statues are absolutely amazing as you can see from my pictures. the SFO location is no exception. I love going to Madame Tussaud’s. My one gripe of this location is the hours. In a big tourist area, it’s strange that it closes so early at 6pm. And it’s not even open at all on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. I almost didn’t go but fortunately my schedule changed a bit so I got lucky and got to see the museum here. But they should increase their hours, especially since they’re in a big tourist area.

Cool, in a creepy way. Pretty small for the price. It took us like a half hour to go through while taking pics. I would say 30 figures? Some of the figures are not recognizable without plaque telling you who they are. We were like the 4th people in, which made it better.

We had a really fun time at Madame Tussauds San Francisco! Seeing the lifelike wax figures of so many famous actors was an amazing experience. Walking around and enjoying the beauty of this place was truly memorable. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Francisco

"I visited Madame Tussauds San Francisco today and had a memorable time. The lifelike wax figures, particularly the movie stars and historical figures, were truly impressive. The interactive exhibits, like the 'selfie with celebrities' corner, added a fun element to the visit. Overall, it's a must-visit for wax figure enthusiasts, but plan your visit strategically." Remember, the key is to provide useful information to others considering a visit, helping them make an informed decision. I took selfies with my favorite celebrities and legends too.

Having visited other Madame Tussaud locations, we were disappointed with the San Francisco one. The amount of celebrities were lacking and it only took about half an hour to look round. Glad we didn’t pay especially to do this as value would have been poor (we purchased digital attraction passes and Madame Tussaud’s was included).

I love wax museums and my wife does not so we each went our separate way. I always wish Souch museums had either more interpretation or voice scapes. I like the emphasis on the local and my interest would have would be even more so but I definitely knew where I was, which helps!

My wife took our kids and myself on my birthday. It was an interesting experience. We had to escape from Alcatraz/jail. It required team work. The rules are clearly explained before you begin.

We visited the one in Vegas, and I liked this one better. It was more interactive, there were more props for photos etc and it was a very different experience in my opinion.

They had a lot of stars there and they made it really fun by putting props next to the stars where you could put a hat on and a jacket and act like you’re dancing with Michael Jackson. I highly recommend doing this!! It wasn’t extremely busy so we were able to take our time and have fun with it.

For those who like celebrities, it was good. Personally, wax figures aren’t my fave, but about 60% of them were very good. There were a couple of shockers (Elvis doesn’t look much like Elvis).
I liked the couple of interactive pieces they had for guests to participate in.
I actually thought there would be more figures too, but there were enough I guess.
If you don’t like celebrities, perhaps it’s not for you, but celebrity fans will like it.
