      Good facility, too crowded
People were very nice, bikes in good shape, shop location quite convenient but very crowded and confusing once people received their bikes. Too difficult to hear instructions, got separated from tour group.

      Spectacular ride on SF coastline
Very nicely done! Adam was efficient, passionate and was a treat to ride with. The route is spectacular with lots of lovely lookouts. We went on thanksgiving when the Sausalito ferry was not operating and they refunded that amount.

      Epic SF loop
We rented e-bikes and did a big loop. Golden Gate Bridege, Battery Spencer, Sausalito, back to the Presidio and Golden Gate Park. We stopped at Ghirardelli square for a treat before returning the bikes. What an epic SF day! Bikes, service, and convenience were all 5 star.

      Don’t rent bikes here!
We rented two e-bikes and were told they could easily do 30 miles. However, one of the bikes only managed around 15 miles and we got stuck in Sausolito because of it. Had to buy two ferry tickets for USD 28 to get back. Since we did not plan on this, I demanded a refund of USD 28. The manager of the guy in the store called his manager, who offered a refund of 10 USD. Which I didn’t think was fair. However, this guy will not speak to you and hides behind his employees. Eventually the store manager came to the store and told us there was nothing that could be done. We just had to accept that. We told him this is no way of doing business, after which he literally drove out of the store on his bike. Never seen anything like it. Please take your business elsewhere and don’t rent bikes here.

      Great bike tour
We had an amazing time on the 4 hour San Francisco Bike Tour. Our guide, Adam, was exceptional. His knowledge of the city he loves was phenomenal and he made the whole tour very interesting. Must admit the electric bike made it a lot easier when we had to go up hill! Highly recommend.

      Great day on e-bikes.
We hired e-bikes. We weren’t sure the batteries would last so we only used power on the hills. However, we made it over the GG bridge to Sausalito and then onto Muir Woods and back to Sausalito for the ferry with half a battery left. The hill up from Muir Woods is long and steep but took us only 9 minutes from bottom to top. Bikes were relatively light for e-bikes and the controls super easy (we don’t have e-bikes and my 16 year old daughter had never ridden one). Great day…..

First time in SF, we rented 2 electric bikes with the ferry tickets option.
After a couple of miles it was obvious that the bikes were poorly maintained. Brakes were not grippy enough (and you need grip when you go down the road from the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito), the front wheels were wiggly, and the overall bikes sounded loose.
Cherry on the cake : the ferry tickets are sold $18 whereas you can purchase them for $14 at the pier.
Of course we got no compensation upon bikes' return. "You can't expect perfection from a rental bike" is not the right answer to our complaints. $172 (!!) poorly spent, fortunately the journey was beautiful.

Hi Dan, We include free rescue service for our renters. However, if riders have issues and don't call, there is nothing we can do to help during the rental. You can also reach us by Whassup! Our rescue service is advised when you rent, reiterated on the handlebar Map in front of you, and likewise shown on the shop walls around you as you leave. We wish you had taken advantage of it- No one has to suffer and can have a refreshed bike brouoght to them!!!

The guide Adam was excellent. He loves San Francisco passionately and took us to places that were different to the norm and all very interesting. He was also a very nice person.
The reason for 3 Stars is that eleven riders in our group was far too big and made it impossible to hear all the instructions when negotiating very busy city roads. We felt quite vulnerable. Adam was not at fault as he obviously doesn't determine the number of riders in the group.
When we fed this back, we were told that it was busy Spring break and we should be road aware before booking this trip. Adam was consistently trying to give safety advice so it was more than road awareness that was needed to safely enjoy this guided tour.

Hi again Andrew You joined us during spring break, one of our more peak seasons, so yes was 11 passengers strong, which is pretty normal for a guided bike tour... The Streets tour is for a more mature ridership which is why we ask all to know how to ride in an urban setting. As noted in our email exchange, I highly recommend for your future touring needs to book a private endeavor. That way you can have the guide all to yourself and the whole tour can be tailored to you, personally. It costs more but you will be satisfied this way. You booked a budget-friendly public tour, which means the guide is catering to the public, or the group as a whole… Thanks again for riding with us! BCB Team

Rented electric bikes and cycled over the Golden Gate Bridge getting the ferry back from Sausalito. Really enjoyable day - would definitely recommend the electric bikes.
Good service and bikes well maintained. Only down side was we bought ferry tickets from the company so we wouldn’t have to get them later and only realised we didn’t have them when we got to Sausalito. In fairness we could have asked ourselves but asked so many questions we forgot this one so would have been nice if they’d given them to us automatically to save us a phone call from Sausalito when we got there. Cost of the tickets was refunded with no issues on our return though to so no real harm done.
    Would use this company again.

Hi Emma, I really appreciate you taking the time to leave your review. I am so sorry that our staff forgot to give you your ferry tickets after you paid for them. Buying the ferry tickets in advance from us is supposed to make your trip back from Sausalito smoother, but we actually inconvenienced you and I apologize for that. I am glad that our customer service team was able to refund your tickets with no issues, and I thank you for giving us the chance to make things right. I am happy that you otherwise enjoyed your bike rental, and that you all liked the electric bikes! Thank you for your recommendation, and I hope that you come back to visit us soon! Best, Ashley

We decided to spend a little extra and get electric bikes which made the trip so much better. The hills were no problem and the bikes were in excellent condition. There was a staffer riding the route all day so if we had any issues all we had to do was call.

We made the trip across the Golden Gate bridge and into Sausalito where we had a delightful lunch and stroll, and then took the ferry back. Excellent!

Worst experience. Rented all day electric bikes. Was told battery would last 40 miles but if kept in low mode would go all day. Battery went down a notch immediately. After 19 miles over the bridge to Tiburon we only had two dots of power left and had to spend more money to take ferry back to SF and asked for a fresh battery because we spent the money for an all day electric bike rental. Wasn't told that the battery switch was $35.00's extra per bike. Battery stopped working in the Presidio on hills. Called shop and they wouldn't come switch out bike or pick us up and was told we were responsible for getting faulty bikes back to shop. So we turned bikes in early because battery wasn't working. They wouldn't compensate us at all and sprung the extra $35.00 per bike charge on us. Worst experience!

After booking you called in the morning and asked if you could have more than one battery so you could spend all day on the bikes. We told you the bike battery last 40 miles and if you needed more there’s a fee for a second battery. Declining the 2nd, you rode to Tiburon and back (32 miles)to our shop to ask yet another staff person for a free, 2nd battery. Said staff member told you (again) about the fee, you declined again, and rode to the GG Bridge & back (12 miles)- tipping the bike over 40 miles. When the battery died, you called demanding we pick you, your husband & and the E-bikes up, and since we don’t provide livery service we declined. And here we are! While we share your enthusiasm for biking all over, we didn’t do anything we didn’t tell you upfront (albeit we actually told you twice). If you had only paid the fee you could’ve had a second whole bike for the day, and not felt frustrated posting a negative review that we don’t deserve. Next time just grab a second battery so you’ll be satisfied, SeaCoral7 !

They were not at address listed, walked to new address and they were shuttered up. I had to call them and wait. They also listed on their website $13 cheaper than what I was charged and they would not honor a discount. Seemed abrupt and rude. The bike was very nice and easy to ride.

Thanks for the positivity about the bike. As you saw from the sign on the door at our 501 Bay location directing you to our 2661 Taylor location, a short, one-block walk, we have reduced what is open due to the Covid-19 global pandemic. Although it was a slight inconvenience for you, all of tourism and small businesses are suffering right now and we hope you can find it in your heart to be patient with us and all the world as we in the workforce try to survive and keep going.

Daily rental. Warm welcome at reception of the bike (map with route provided + padlock + luggage rack with tensioner). And no luck: rear tire puncture at the other end of SF (around 3 p.m.). No pump supplied with the bike. Call the assistance number: no one can come before 1:30 a.m. or other option, go to a repairer (advertised 15 min walk). We ended up walking for a little less than an hour, with a tire whose inner tube had emptied and was wrapping around the derailleur. Several stops necessary to lift the bike to be able to hope to move forward.
Arriving at the repairer, I give him the guy on the phone: 30 minutes of repair and more than $50 to pay.
We leave with a bike that runs but whose battery now goes to 2/5 then 1/5 (no charger provided). What was supposed to happen happened: no more battery while we still had about 10 km to go and some nice hills to climb.
We exchanged our bikes with my companion, more sporty than me.
Great pressure to arrive before the shop's closing time, only to hear that only $30 would be refunded to me on the repair because apparently, I had not taken an option for puncture when booking. Not only did we ruin our afternoon, but we also paid the bill. So, no, I don't recommend...

Worst service ever! I got charged 45usd because I returned the bikes at 7:33pm when they closed at 7:30pm (only 3 minutes late). Additionally the manager was very very rude to us ! Also, the bikes aren’t in very good conditions. I do not recommend this place to rent at all !!!!!!

Hi Orymo, As told when you called, we close at 730 pm and do not stay open past that. We pay our employees a living wage. This means, when we close, if they have to wait for you, they now have to add time to their long workday, change their after-work plans, and also be paid overtime. The $45 fee covers this. There are many instances in life where being late spurns a fee, and unfortunately this too is one of them. It doesn’t mean we did not provide excellent service- we did, including when you called and were surprised that closing at 730 means 730 and not later, and including waiting for you when you were late…we are confident that doesn’t mean WE are rude, but rather, running an efficient company that honors our workers.

Rented 2 electric bicycles with my wife to ride around SF and over the Golden Gate bridge into Sausalito.

From the start we were greeted by excellent customer service, with instructions on how to properly use the bikes, where to ride (maps provided and also conveniently located on the bikes themselves), and helpful tips/recommendations. Helmets and bike locks were also provided and easy to use.

The bikes were perfect and we had a blast! Definitely suggest paying extra for the electric bikes given the city's hilly terrain. We were also able to purchase our ferry tickets directly with Bay City for our return from Sausalito, making things a breeze. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for bike rentals!
