- D3240IWcarlag00Tour packed with surprisesPhil was FANTASTIC! He knows the area so well that we avoided the crowds. Armstrong was peaceful and beautiful. The picnic on the beach had stunning views. The location to take pics of the GG Bridge was definitely a locals only viewpoint. Also loved his Playlist! I highly recommend this tour!
- Cgoeth00Don’t miss this one! This was a great tour. We weren’t sure we wanted to do a full day tour because we had a concert to go to that night, but we are so glad we did. Steven, our guide, was not only an informative and full of facts guy (he is a SF native), he is also a most excellent driver! The van was super comfortable and the group we travelled with was very fun (several were going to the same concert we were). The Armstrong woods are so beautiful and majestic. As promised, it was not crowded at all, and the path through the forest was very easy, young and old alike can do it. Great phony ops! Then we totally switched gears and went to Kendall-Jackson winery for a lovely multi-course lunch with local ingredients (many directly from their expansive and gorgeous on-site garden). As self-proclaimed wine snots LOL, we were impressed with the wine! We were served wine you can only get on-site or through their wine club. Husband is not allowed to join any more wine clubs, but we did purchase several bottles to ship home. This was a reasonably priced tour considering what is included, and we highly recommended it.
- pedrorY3604UI00Great Experience! Our tour guide Steven was great. Very communicative, he came over to pick us up right on time. He's a local so he knows the best spots and times to tour. The food and wine were excellent. We were lucky enough to share with other three couples with the best vibe ever. Totally worth it. Would do it again. Highly recommend it.
- Q2552LDjenniferv00Good experience, but could be betterLoved the redwoods. Spent 1 1/2 hours there. Really only need 45 minutes to 1 hour. It was beautiful though. Wish we learned a little more about the wine making process. Hook and Ladder and Kendall Jackson were lovely. Wine was good. Tour guide was great. Van was pretty bumpy. Overall a good experience.
- Danielle G00Potentially a good valueI think it was a good deal for the money but the wineries were just ok. Also, the tour was supposed to be done at 6 but we were back by 4:30.
- tsP2254MH00Great tour! When I get to visit friends in Oakland, I like to fit in day trips to explore San Fran. This time I decided to book a tour to see some of the Redwoods and made it into an overnight stay in San Fran before the tour. Great way to have some fun in the city and then hit the road going north. Our guide Steven was great - really organized and fun! Picked us up from the downtown hotel we were staying at. By tying in with memorable movie locations, classic songs, you really remember places (the "Goonies" beach, "The Birds" filming location). The tour of Armstrong Redwoods forest was absolutely the highlight. It's a quiet hike and wonderful way to connect with the land. The trip covers quite a lot of ground through the day, and there was even time to squeeze in an amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Highly recommend the tour with Best Bay Area Tours!
- jahusz00Yosemite in my dreamIt was great experience. The operator is worth 1000 dollars tip, with knowledge and skills should be highly rewarded. I would advise everyone to use his service. Also he is number one driver I would not hesitate to put my destiny in his hands :) I love this trip!
- H1733VUflorenceg00Beautiful day by the Sequoia and the CoastWe had a wonderful day with our guide Steven! It was really great and he showed us some beautiful places around California’s Coast! Thank you so much Steven form the Swiss girls! We already have given your card to our travel agency! We
- marycB7018PE00A must tour!We had a great time! Steven is an awesome your guide! This is a must tour for anyone visiting San Fransisco!
- F5395QWpaulaf00Nice trip to YosemiteThis tour is amazing.the pick up was on time, a few stops to go to the restrooms or buy food. Eating in the bus is allowed. Comfortable bus. Once is the park a lot of stops for pictures and trails. Victor , the guide, the best guy ever for your trip. He’s kind and funny. I highly recommended this guide trip to Yosemite if you are in SFO
- Wilfred H00Very Nice DayStephan was a wonderful host. Pick up at our hotel was great. Having bottled water when needed hit the spot. His humor was well, humorous. It being a small bus is great. Not a big crowd. The other passengers from New Zealand, England, Atlanta made it for great conversation. The park to see the redwoods was nice and serene and there were bathrooms there. The only thing is the amount of time spent on the beach was to long. And the van did not stay. With the slight drizzle it would have been nice to get out of the weather.
- Road28265000great tripexcellent trip and super driver. very friendly and knowledgeable. well worth the money.. luncheon sandwiches were great
- virginia d00WOW … Yosemite National ParkWe loved the Yosemite tour. Viktor our guide and driver was amazing The waterfalls were breathtaking
- K5339OSandrewb00Great way to see California beyond San FranciscoWe really enjoyed our tour of the Redwoods, Californian Coast and Sausalito. Our tour guide Steven was really friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. He struck a perfect balance by providing regular facts and pieces of information about the areas along our journey, with good humour and tailored to our family - two adults and two pre-teens - on the day, without overload, and with plenty opportunity to enjoy the scenery. As movie fans it was great to have lunch at Goat Rock beach - the site of the final act of 'The Goonies' and see the schoolhouse from 'The Birds'. We had regular stops and it was pleasing to be able to support small businesses along the way visiting a coffee shop, sandwich shop/local store and Salt Water Taffy shop. We had adequate time to wander through Sausilto and take photos of the Golden Gate Bridge away from the typical tourist viewpoint! We thought the trip was good value for money and I would have no hesitation in recommending Best Bay Area Tours to friends and family and I will definitely use the company again for a wine tour or trip to Yosemite if we visit SF again in the future. Thanks for the great day Steven!
- Kathleen100Just okay for the price. The trip was good but very long and the driver was erratic on the road. Extremely expensive not good value. Have experienced better in the Canadian Rockies.

The park is really cool so i'm glad i got to go see it. Our guide opted to not go see the Sequoia trees because if was "snowing". This was highly disappointing because it was literally a light little fall of snow that wasn't sticking and eventually went away. The music in the car wasn't great. The guide insisted on talking the entire way there (i was thinking i'd get a little moment of peace on the 4 hour drive there). The weather wasn't great for seeing everything which is fine (that's all up to mother nature) but I do wish there had been a warning or more detail about the amount of walking and the cold weather because I didn't know what to prepare for. Overall the tour was fine. I recommend going when there is good weather and make sure you don't mind constant talking tied with cheesy anecdotes. Oh...and there's a sign in the van to remind you the "20% is the expected tip amount" and you'll get a huff and a look if you don't give a tip for this already $200 trip. I'll probably just rent a car and drive myself next time but that's more my style anyway.

We have no control over the Sequoia hike. We do not go when the park service suggests that it is too icy or dangerous.
Tipping is not a common practice in other countries. The is there to let non-Americans know what the custom is in the United States. It by no is means required, only suggested.
We’re sorry the day did not live up to your expectations.

As east coast residents, trying to find the perfect Yosemite day trip in San Fransisco almost feels impossible with all the options presented to us. However, by some stroke of luck, we had the most incredible day trip with Brian from Bay Area Best Tours. Not only did he make communication leading up to the day simple and easy to follow, he also had the rare talent of being a fun, informative, enjoyable tour guide. Many times when booking a tour like this one, the guide can either be exhausting or leaving you wanting more. Brian did an excellent job teaching us about the history of Yosemite, keeping the energy high (with a 6am start and 9pm finish, that alone is impressive), showing us how to get the perfect pictures, and taking the perfect pictures of me and my husband throughout the day. We really felt like he enjoyed our company, and we certainly enjoyed his. If you have the opportunity to go to Yosemite for one short day while you’re in San Fransisco, we couldn’t recommend Bay Area Best Tours and their guide, Brian, more. Thank you for the most wonderful day of our vacation!

Because car rentals are now a Premium, I sought an excursion out of San Francisco that would take us to Yosemite National Park. Tour guides, Brian and Phil, made this a very good decision on my part. They went out of their way to make the trip happen, having realized a lack of AC on one of their smaller buses and having labored to secure a larger bus that accommodated our two smaller groups. Brian picked us up (and later dropped us off) at our hotel at 6:00 am and took us to the larger bus where Phil was waiting to accompany our tour. He provided good information en route and stops along the way—including a food store where those who wished could buy a picnic lunch rather than having to take time in the Park’s cafe. Phil also had good suggestions for best time usage around Yosemite Falls and the Sequoia Grove. Our time in the Park made for a wonderful day, and we were back at our hotel by 9:00 pm. If a day seeing highlights in Yosemite is on your bucket list, I recommend this tour!

We did the Yosemite tour and I can't say enough good things about our experience. First, we originally booked for a Saturday and a few days before ran into some scheduling issues and I thought we were going to have to cancel. I spoke by phone with Phil who went above and beyond to work things out for us and shifted some things around so we could still go. So already I'm amazed by this company. Then on the day of the tour, our tour guide was Brian. He was a phenomenal tour guide. Not only is he knowledgeable and excited about Yosemite, he has excellent people skills and is great in front of groups. The day started just before 5am when we departed an hour earlier to avoid lines at the park and were picked up by Brian at our hotel. Midway through the drive up, Brian stopped at a grocery store so we could pick up breakfast/coffee/lunch for later in the day. The whole drive up Brian showed various Yosemite videos as well as sharing photos to prepare us for what we would see. When we got to the park, Brian stopped at key points and assisted with photos. Midway through the day he stopped in an area where we had free time for lunch and to explore things on our own. Later in the day we stopped by El Capitan where he had binoculars and a telescope so we could try to find people climbing on it (we learned a ton about rock climbing today too). Towards the end of our Yosemite visit we stopped by the Tuolumne sequoias. We went on a hot day, and Brian had plenty of cold water available in his cooler and offered it to us regularly throughout the day. On the drive back, Brian stopped at a farm stand as well as a grocery store. We would definitely book a tour with this company again - thank you Brian and Phil for a fantastic experience!

We spent a bit over three weeks travelling across The States and this was by far the highlight of our trip.....
The small group arrangement was fantastic it made it feel a lot more personal which for me added to the experience. It also meant we could stop and start easily and add to the itinerary as there was less people to organise.
We had absolutely amazing weather.
Brian our tour guide was unbelieveable. He was super knowledgeable, engaging and worked with the group in planning the day. We were travelling with 3 children and he kept them engaged also and tailored stops to meet them also.
The trip is long but totally worth it and the documentaries, videos and information shared along the way kept us engaged as well as the many stops we got to make throughout the park.
Don't look any further this is the Yosemite tour you should do!

The highlight of our recent vacation was when my family and I traveled to Yosemite with Brian of Best Bay Area Tours. Yosemite National Park is truly spectacular, but Brian of Best Bay Area Tours made this small group adventure so much more than it might otherwise have been.
He made sure our Mercedes Van arrived well before the big bus tour groups, so that we could avoid crowds. He prepared documentary footage for us to watch on the way to the park, as well as a panoply of photographs he had taken through the years at different Scenic spots in Yosemite.
Brian lived at Yosemite and worked there for years, so he's very experienced with the park. He took us to all the best photo ops and even advised us which trails to walk for the best experience. If you are comparing Yosemite tours, you can stop looking now that you've found Best Bay Area Tours.

Yosemite was absolutely beautiful and we are glad we went to see it.
We knew the journey was long (approx 4 hrs each way). However, the bus was full so we had to sit in the back row which was extremely bumpy and uncomfortable. The back row window seats have the wheel arches coming up into the floor, you therefore have to sit with your knees up. Also the left hand side seats in the back row have less legroom than all the other seats. 4 hour journey each way!
Joe the tour guide/driver was knowledgeable if a bit eccentric. His driving was at times a bit scary and his music very loud, especially on the way home when most people were trying to sleep.
I would recommend a trip to Yosemite but maybe on a more comfortable bigger vehicle.

The tour made several significant stops and gave plenty of time to either take pictures or to walk about and explore.
The guide was friendly, helpful, and informative.
His driving when changing music on his phone could use a little more care. We drifted across lanes several times and were lucky to not have an accident.
Would recommend even at this expensive price but tip at your discretion. The suggested 20% seems VERY excessive.

We are very glad that you enjoyed your day with us in the park. We are very careful on the road and will definitely
speak with the driver regarding his attentiveness when changing music.
Tipping is not common outside
the US. The suggested 20% is just a guideline for those unfamiliar with the custom. Like your waiter at restaurant, 20% is a suggested common baseline for a day that hopefully you will remember for the rest of your life.

The small group Yosemite and Giant Sequioas Day Trip was the highlight of my time in San Francisco. Our tour guide, Brian, was so knowledgeable about Yosemite and brought us to all of the best spots! This was the perfect way for me to experience Yosemite as a solo traveler staying in the city, as safety was my number one priority. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience Yosemite in a day.

This was an amazing tour! Best Bay Area Tours managed to deliver a fun, activity packed (but not too packed) day at incredible Yosemite. Guests on the tour ranged from age 4 (ish) to seniors and everyone had a great time. Our guide Brian clearly loves his job (he worked at Yosemite a few years ago) and managed our tour from every angle. He made sure we arrived before the traffic jam at the entrance (due to the park's new reservation system) which meant we were able to avoid lines and crowds; took us to so many beautiful vantage points, gave us a brief history of the park and answered any and all questions--while making sure we had adequate rest/souvenir/food stops and free time to explore on our own. I was originally booked on an overnight Yosemite tour with another company that canceled with little notice (and they were rude about it to boot), but it turned out for the best since I'm certain Best Bay Area Tours provided a much better tour and showed me as many sights in the one day. I'm already trying to book another tour with them on my next trip to SF!

Is Covid vaccination required?

No they didn't ask for proof. The said we could use masks if we wanted to and that the driver/tour guide was fully vaccinated.

It depends, I was back at my hotel around 8-830 pm. I believe we left the park around 3pm and had a dinner break halfway back to San Francisco, then hit some traffic.
Is their bathroom on the bus

No but they stop about halfway on the way there and on the way back for a restroom break at a grocery store. You can also purchase lunch/ snacks drinks there. Then there is a restroom at the park entrance and at the major stops in the park.

Does this trip require a certain number of Covid booster shots, or does the normal two doses of Phfizer count?
Malissa2014
Myrtle Beach, SC54 contributions
You can message the tour directly but with the lift of the requirement, we did not have to provide proof of vaccination of any kind. Mask were encouraged unless no vaccination at all in which they asked you wear one. It’s a honor system I guess. My suggestion would be to verify if that’s changed if your concerned about the virus I would wear a mask. If you are not vaccinated and worried about being unable to take this tour, refer to the beginning of my response. I highly encourage verifying before your trip directly with the agent as these things could change. Hope this helps. I went in in early May 2022.

Hello, I think your question is for the tour operator. I am a past guest but they pick up from hotels located in the SOMA/Union Square area in San Francisco. You can Google "hotels near SOMA/Union Square" then check with the tour operator with the name of your hotel for confirmation.
