- OnAir2476100 contributionsSunset sail on BayWe had a great day. No fog and a good view of all the sights. First Mate was very thoughtful in taking care of the guests. Enjoyed our last night in San Francisco.Written September 24, 2024
- A6812GQtimothyw0 contributionsMust-do in SF!Lived in the bay for some time and finally got around to doing this - it’s a must! Pretty incredible to see the Golden Gate Bridge from underneath, plus sunset on the water is amazing. Jeff (captain) and Brady (1st mate) were great company! Enjoyed all of it.Written September 12, 2024
- 323jennied0 contributionsDisappointing and no commentary at allWe were disappointed in the 90minute sailing tour. We were promised views from ‘underneath the Golden Gate Bridge’ but it was a mere spec in the distance. We did not sail anywhere near Saulsilito or Angel Island. Captain Micheal did not give a single word of commentary about anything and the advertised free drinks were cans in foam cup holders. We sailed closely around Alcatraz so managed to get some photos of that but all the other places we expected to see were somewhere far in the distance - no idea where as they weren’t pointed out. The boat was shabby and needs painting/varnishing and I would not recommend this tour.Written September 4, 2024
- Glynnis6180 contributionsLovely, Quiet Sailing ExperienceI chose this experience because it seemed safe enough for me to enjoy and adventurous enough for my husband and son to love. It was lovely for us all. It's 90 minutes of quiet and beauty. The captain & first mate do not talk/narrate. They just sail well & keep an eye on passengers to ensure all have a nice, safe time. We enjoyed the 2 drinks and the lovely views. The family next to us had their sweet 3 year old bundled up in blankets provided. Our 4:15 sail was un-crowded and very comfortable. Do layer up! It's chilly out there. :)Written August 14, 2024

- U6690OVtonyb0 contributionsLovely experience!6:30 pm sail, lucky no fog, glorious day on the Bay, easy booking, boarding logistics, great old “sea dog” captain, sublime sailing with medium winds.. will do again in future.Written July 7, 2024
- O3099BEamym0 contributionsWaste of $100Wouldn’t waste my money on it again. Didn’t even get close to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was extremely foggy which I get but the only thing the captain said the WHOLE time was, “in my 40 something years I’ve done this only one time has July 4th been clear with no clouds.” That’s it. He didn’t talk to us about what we were seeing, it was quiet the whole time. Wasn’t impressed for $100 price tag. Was told they were giving us a deal because it was a pretty empty charter, only to get on the boat and it was so full we had to sit up front with a bar under our legs that was quite uncomfortable for an hours and a half. I would definitely take the one that looked more like a ferry than the sailboat tour again.Written July 6, 2024
- michellemM1960VV0 contributionssailboat escapeWonderful scenic boat ride around Alcatraz and city scape of SF!! Exceptional crew as well, they were very kind and accommodating!!! I hope to take a longer boat ride next time!Written June 24, 2024
- ElaineY5990 contributionsGreat timeFun sail, competent and interesting crew. Captain maneuvered so that we did see the sunset on the cold, cloudy day! They had warm blankets and jackets to use. Weʻd go again.Written June 14, 2024
- 84merileec0 contributionsSlow sailNice trip, but slow. We would have enjoyed using both sails. The people were nice, though. It is good to have the spare jackets and blankets.Written June 6, 2024
- cathn1570 contributionsBeautiful treat at the end of the holidayAs the last treat on my month of travel I booked onto the sunset trip at the last minute. What a wonderful decision. The views out across SF Bay were amazing and the team were very good to talk with. We saw seals, porpoises, pelicans and so on. The weather was perfect and it was great to be on smaller boat, under sails rather than on the big boats. Thank you for the lovely evening!Written June 1, 2024
- Mary2311220 contributionsAmazing cruise & crew - highly recommend! We had the great luck of perfect weather and a private charter atmosphere last night on the sunset cruise. The crew was very accommodating and the beverage selection was good. You can’t get views like this from land. This is our second time to book this cruise and we will go again next time we’re in SF.Written April 25, 2024

Super fun trip around the bay. The crew was very helpful.
I've lived in San Francisco for 25 years and I saw a bunch of new views of the city by the bay.

Amazing trip for our little family. Friendly Captain and 1st mate. We weren't the easiest passengers considering My son the birthday boy spilled his OJ and my one year old daughter cried for like 30 minutes straight. They were welcoming and didn't make us feel awkward at all. Experienced, friendly smooth ride. Mom got a mimosa to boot! Would recommend for everyone, first time or for a special occasion. The scenery sells itself!

Sailing under the Golden Gate bridge was on my bucket list and it was as awesome as I thought it would be! The weather was as you expect August in SF to be: cold and foggy, but it just made it more memorable. The captain and first mate were very nice and professional. Make sure you dress in layers! I hope to do this again when the sun is shining to see the bridge in all its glory!

Our captain and crew (of one) were welcoming and professional; the boat dock was easy to find. Take BART & walk down from the Embarcadero Sta, or allow ample time to get through the city to park. We arrived at 8:30 a.m. and the Embarcadero and Pier 39 were already busy. Whether you are a tourist or local, nothing beats time spent seeing one of the most magnificent skylines in the world from the Bay. Our sailing experience was relaxing, and thrilling as we passed under the Golden Gate. We are local to the Bay Area, and knew to dress warmly, but were not prepared for the damp, cold, foggy morning. Fortunately, the sailing company had extra jackets and blankets, but even that was not enough to block out the San Francisco cold. Mark Twain said it best, "the coldest winter I ever saw was the summer I spent in San Francisco". This is not the time for shorts, sundresses or sandals. All in all we had a great time, and would love to go again.

I didn't realize Alcatraz sold out in advance. We were searching around to find a different option and came across this offer while we were at Pier 39. We signed up for the Champagne and Mimosa tour at 10:00 AM for the next day. We had our 20 yo son and 10 yo daughter with us. They were happy with getting a Coke and OJ for their free 2 drinks. Wine, beer and champagne were offered for adults. The sail takes you out under the Golden Gate Bridge and then past Alcatraz before returning back to the Pier. They had jackets and blankets for anyone needing them. The captain and his assistant were both very informative. We had 19 on board and there was plenty of room for everyone.

Had a great time sailing with skipper Jeff and first mate. Windy and cold (summertime in SF) but sailed to Sausalito and back. Great views of Alcatraz and downtown SF.
