Tara was our guide/driver and she was so fun. We drove all around the city and discovered places we’d never seen before and a little history as well. - Bahruth50 contributionsPeace, Love, and the Best Damn Tour in SF with Tera!Step aside, regular tours—Hippie Love Bus Tour is the only way to see San Francisco, especially with our favorite guide Tera! From the moment we hopped on the groovy, colorful bus, Tera had us in stitches with her sharp wit, incredible storytelling, and that perfect balance of fun and fascinating. She didn’t just take us to the must-see spots; she showed us the city’s hidden soul, weaving history, culture, and humor into every turn of the wheel. Tera is the kind of guide who doesn’t just give a tour—she gives an experience. Her deep knowledge of San Francisco’s history (like, every little piece of it) and her ability to connect it to the world today had us hooked. She took us to places we never would’ve discovered on our own, all while making us feel like part of her quirky, lovable San Francisco family. This tour isn’t just sightseeing; it’s a joyride through the city’s past, present, and heart. Tera embodies radical hospitality and the spirit of service—SF is lucky to have her, and so were we. If you want history, hilarity, and a whole lot of heart, this is the tour for you. 10/10, would happily join Tera’s Love Bus revolution again!Written January 1, 2025

- raphael_c_losangeles0 contributionsNice tour of SF in a cool vanFun tour & great riding in a 70’s love van the whole way. Our guide Cyrus is very knowledgeable about SF. He did speak a little too fast, & it was sometimes hard to absorb everything that he was saying, especially for my travel partner who’s Ukrainian. The tour was a good intro to SF.Written December 29, 2024

Our tour guide was Johnny, and we had the pleasure of riding around the city in ‘Proud Mary’. Everyone who saw us had a smile on their face for our pretty little VW bus painted with famous faces from the SF era of peace & love. So many people wanted a quick pic with Mary! Johnnie was a great guide and embodied the spirit of chill and friendly with other drivers, people walking by and was very knowledgeable and fun.

We booked a 4 hour private tour - 4 people (3 have been to SF before, 1 was a first time visitor).
Dave was our driver & made our tour informative and fun. and was very accommodating to our interests, schedule & needs.
The VW van gets a lot of attention.
This is a great way to see the city - nothing but fun, start to finish!

Great idea for our family of 6 (max)! Judith was an authentic 60s guide with extensive details on area attractions. Only complaint was there don’t use any microphone so I heard very little in the back where VW bus was loud. If you get our same bus, expect it to be rough on your neck... getting up those hills can get jarring. We had stellar weather. A private tour lets you be flexible about what you’d like to see...loved that.

This was just great fun! The VW bus was cool, and Alfred was a great guide. We saw all the important sights, including great views of the Golden Gate Bridge. We learned a lot of new things about what we saw. Even our three teen girls enjoyed it.

The private 4 hour tour was genius. Kelly was our guide and she was amazing!
We experienced the entire city and more. I can't say enough about how great it was.
The time flew by and we had many stops for pictures!

I booked the Love bus for our family holiday and it lived up to everything I hoped it would do. What a fantastic experience and so much fun for us all. Our driver Alfred was exceptional and it was clearly obvious that he loves his job and his knowledge was exceptional. We saw all the sights that we wanted and stopped for amazing photo opportunities. While driving through the Golden Gate park we had a rather strange experience where we came across a driver who had no patience and was annoyed that Alfred was going slowly (showing us stuff) and started peeping her horn at us and when she was able to pass she flipped us off to which Alfred said "who flip's off the Love Bus". The only way to go down Lombard Street is in a Love Bus all the while listening and singing to fantastic songs. Anytime we are in San Francisco we will do this again as we loved it. Thanks for a great experience and making this trip part off our memories.

We did the 4 hour private tour with Judith as our driver / guide. She did an exceptional job maneuvering the manual drive bus through the tight spots, steep hills and terrible traffic in San Francisco. Got to see everything we asked for and them some. Had great suggestions of places to see and a lot of interesting facts and tidbits about SF. Drove down Lombard street which was fun. The colorful buses get a lot of attention and get places the big tour buses can't. Definitely recommend this company if your visiting SF or just want to learn more if your new to the areas.

My husband and I booked a Private San Francisco Love Tour while in town to see Metallica's S&M2. We didn't have a ton of time in the city, so we were hoping to see a lot and get a sense of the city's hippie past.
Our tour guide was Bob and we had a great morning with him. You can tell he loved his city and we always love touring a place with someone who is passionate about where they live.
Bob gave us a fun and informative tour of the city including visits and walks in the Botanical Gardens, the Painted Ladies, and Haight Asbury. We loved driving through the Castro and down Lombard Street. Our Hippie Van was really cool. The inside was as decorated as the outside and we saw tons of people taking photos of it everywhere we went. Bob also got us some great views of the Golden Gate and the skyline. He also shared some tips for where to go, eat, and shop in San Francisco, as well as sharing so much of what living in San Francisco is like.
It was great going at our own pace, since it was just the two of us and our tour guide on the private tour. We got so much more out of it that way!
If you're in San Francisco, I'd definitely recommend taking this tour! It's a great introduction to the city and a lot of fun!

Our family vacation made an awesome choice when we booked a private Love Tour of San Francisco! Tyler was an excellent driver/tour guide and hit all the sites on our bucket list and more! Having four hours to tour, we were able to get a good feel for the city and all the iconic photos we could have wanted.

The "love tour" did not include Muir Woods, it's maybe 30 minutes+ to get there. And you can spend a couple hours or more at Muir Woods, and Sausalito is a stop on the way back. The "love" tour is a couple hours around San Fran, totally worth it. We did a half day tour with "The Painted Ladies" and it was worth it. If you have an "America the Beautiful" pass you can use it for entry (good at all national parks). Hope that helps
