My husband, daughter and I went on the Urban Hike and it was beyond our expectations. Kevin was our guide and gave us an insider’s view of San Francisco. We went places we would have never gone on our own and learned historical facts in the process. The hike is great exercise as we saw some awesome views and beautiful homes. Kevin is friendly, knowledgeable, and represents the company very well. Thank you!

My wife and I had an amazing time with Kevin. The hike truly delivers on their promises. It was amazing to hike through the “concrete jungle”. Kevin did such an amazing job guiding us through the city, giving us information not just on the tourist sites, but also on lesser-known places such as the different stairwells and reserves. I really appreciated how Kevin gave the history and an idea of what life was like in contemporary San Francisco. My wife and I also loved hiking through the hills and reaching places that were reaching via car or bus. The hike through the forest area was such a nice addition. Seeing the nature side of San Francisco gave us a truly complete view of the city. This hike provided more than the average tour through the tourist and lesser-seen sites; and through the amazing guidance of Kevin. I would highly suggest this tour to anyone considering it!

Can only recommend this hike. Our hike was well guided by the affable and knowledgeable Val who lead us through streets up forrested trails and down hidden stair cases. While foggy right at the top ( this is SF ) unique views and perspectives of the city where provided. Val also recommended an intimate and cool jazz club which we thoroughly enjoyed

This tour was one of the highlights of my trip to San Francisco. Whenever I travel I like to hike to scenic spots and this one was right up my alley (so to speak). It was really worth taking the tour because, on my own, I would never have been able to find such an interesting route through varied neighborhoods and parks and even an urban forest. Our tour guide Val was very knowledgeable and his commentary added a lot to the experience. Highly recommended.

My husband and I are locals of San Francisco for all of our lives. We decided it would be fun to learn more about the hidden trails and history of the city in which we live. Faris was our guide and it was a 3 hour trekking hike around the Castro area up to Sutro Tower and Twin Peaks. Faris showed us many little hidden stairs and hidden neighborhood hills with beautiful views of the city. We loved listening to the old history of the neighborhood. I was happy I had my hiking boots on. The hike had some gravel trails upward. It was a nice workout for the day! I would highly recommend this tour whether you’re a tourist visiting San Francisco or locals like us!!

Took a tour recently with my wife. Moderately strenuous: you need good footwear since you will be hiking steep slopes that are a little slippery.
The views are gorgeous.
Our guide was young affable and nimble with some interesting stories
Alex is super easy to deal with
Will take another of the tours with this company on our next visit

The organisation from start to finish was flawless. Thanks Alexandra. Great communication meant that everything worked smoothly. We met our guide, Kevin who was very knowledgeable and able to communicate various facts in an interesting and enjoyable manner. The hike was mostly nowhere near as strenuous as I expected as there was always somewhere to stop and take in some new view or some new historical reference. My partner and I booked this for the day after our arrival from Australia and it turned out to be an excellent idea as I think the exercise negated any possible jetlag.

My husband and I were really impressed, not just with Kevin (guide) but also with Alex (proprietor)! The weather forecast for our original booking was looking dismal and Alex kindly rearranged another sunny time that suited our schedule. Kevin was awesome! - very knowledgeable and considerate. We were fortunate to have him all to ourselves as the other couple pulled out, although I understand that the groups are on the small side anyways! Thank you very much Kevin and Alex for a wonderful afternoon on the hills of San Francisco.

My fourteen year old son and I thoroughly enjoyed our hike with Faris. If we were here longer we’d definately do another hike. It is so great to see hidden trails, parks, views and neighbourhoods that otherwise would be impossible on your own. Highly recommend.

I apologize for the late review. I went on this tour on April 5 and Kevin was our group's guide. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took us to Twin Peaks, Tank Hill and Kite Hill for amazing views of SF. I was also amazed to see a man-made forest inside SF. The tour is as advertised and I highly recommend it. Kevin was also kind enough to guide me to places to visit after the tour. Thank you Urban Hiker SF and Kevin as well.
