We did a private tour with our friends and family. There were many dietary restrictions amongst us but all the places we visited were able to accommodate us all. There was a nice variety of places we visited and we were absolutely stuffed at the end of the 3 hours. Lisa was great. She continued to help us with questions of where to eat even after the tour ended. She made sure that we enjoyed delicious food for the rest of our visit. Her recommendations were spot on. I would highly recommend this company.

Great tour. We often do food tours when we travel. We find it a great way to check out places we may not find on our own. From the pizza to pastrami sandwiches to the cupcakes, this was a perfect way to explore Nirth Berkley.

Alcatraz was amazing!! A definite must see! The food tour was good and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and chose good tastings. However, it is quite expensive for what you get.

Our guide Rebecca was the best! She was knowledgeable and extremely helpful; answered all our questions. The one thing I emphasize is to come to this tour hungry. You will be given a variety of wonderful, tasty local foods to eat. This is a must tour; I highly recommend!

Lisa gave us an amazing tour of the 18th street Mission food area. Sweets, Mexican, Guamese and the best burger you could imagine to name just a few of the stops. Her local knowledge combined with professional experience made this tour a highlight of our stay in SF.

This was such a great experience. We are Bay Area locals and we went on the North Berkeley Tour. Rebecca was our fabulous guide. The food itself was above and beyond what we expected. Everything was arranged ahead of time and it was a smooth experience at each place. Delicious food, things I probably would not have tried or known about without our guide. I loved hearing about the history and people behind the food as well. We are planning on exploring the area many more times in the coming months. All around fantastic experience!! Highly recommend for locals or visitors.

This combo between Edible Excursions and Alcatraz trip was a winner for us! The food tour and history of the Ferry terminal building was great, with background of various farmers and producers. Great knowledge from Torry! The up to the infamous prison, a part of history nevertheless ! Needs to be visited at leas once! Well organized!

Our guide, Alice K., did a fantastic job of exposing us to the foods and culture of Japantown. She also generously shared the history of Japantown and some of her own family history. The foods we sampled were delicious-- especially the pumpkin latte and the soft matcha ice cream served in a fish-shaped cone! A fun outing! You should go!

Did Ferry Building Food Tour without Alcatraz on 2/22/20. Varied food selections to try from the Ferry Building and Saturday Farmers’ Market. All selections were tasty, and our guide, Carrie Sullivan, was super knowledgeable about both the Ferry Building’s and Farmers’ Market histories, and details about the vendors and the food choices we were offered. 2 hour tour provided delightful and ample portions and will keep us coming back to enjoy this local “foodie haven” for years to come. Excellent way to introduce out of town guests to the various SF cuisine options besides those at Fisherman’s Wharf. Looking forward to trying Edible Excursions East Bay next.

I've done two Edible Excursions tours now and they've both been excellent and very different. This is a great way to experience the city and learn about different parts of SF. The team are knowledgeable, personable and professional and all food is delicious! Highly recommend.

I first found Edible Excursions when looking for a birthday idea for my tough-to-buy-for husband. Our first experience was the North Berkeley Food tour followed the next year by Oakland Temescal Tastes. On both tours the restaurants, guides and storytelling were top notch. After such positive experiences on the standard tours, I decided to try Custom Events with Edible Excursions to entertain groups of clients. I've now done Oakland Uptown Food & Drinks once and Japantown twice each time hosting somewhere between 10-15 people. In every case, the results are consistently excellent. Lisa (the owner) and her team (both administrative and tour guides) are knowledgeable, entertaining and, quite simply, total pros. I've done a number of food tours in different cities across the US and abroad and Edible Excursions is, hands down, the best. Highly recommend!

We had a family outing foodie tour of the Mission District. So much fun and brought us to great places. The only critique is that we were a large group and age ranges from 4 to 83, was a lot of walking and we got very spread out. but tour was great, restaurants we went to fabulous, and loads of fun.

I had a delightful tour with Rebecca. She had so much knowledge of the area and its culinary history. The food was delicious.

I'll just say that we love food tours! This one didn't disappoint. We were celebrating my Niece's Bat mitzvah and they customize the tour to her tastes and what she wanted to show off. Lisa was a great gide, full of fun facts and stories, and the merchants really knew her and participated.

Alice K. was wonderful. As a Japanese-American, she brought to life the history and stories and realities of the Japanese-American experience. I found it quite educational and thought-provoking. Of course the food was great. There was such good variety and learning about the back story of the places gives you an appreciation that you might otherwise not have. Overall, I recommend the tour and Alice gives it such a special touch. She is very thoughtful.
