About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Matttrent1010 contributionsA lovely time.Had a great time on the Muir Woods & Sausalito Half-Day Tour! The small group made it feel really relaxed and personal, and everything was super smooth from start to finish. The tour page mentioned a max of 40 people, but there were only about 11 of us, so there was plenty of space on the bus. Muir Woods was absolutely stunning - walking among the giant redwoods was such a peaceful experience. We had plenty of time to explore without feeling rushed, which was perfect. You could definitely spend much longer there if you wanted to go deeper into the trails. I took a bit of a risk and wandered pretty far, but it was totally worth it. After that, we headed to Sausalito, which had beautiful waterfront views and a really laid-back vibe. I liked that we had the option to take the bus or ferry back, which added some flexibility. I chose the ferry since I knew I wouldn’t get another chance to take one on this trip. The only downside was that the charging ports on the bus didn’t work. It wasn’t a big deal for me as I also had multiple powerbanks with me, so I didn’t bring it up, but something to keep in mind. Overall, a great mix of nature and coastal charm - definitely worth it if you can make the time within your trip!Written March 14, 2025
- peterjj_19880 contributionsGreat nature tourFor those who want to experience California's nature without the long drive to Yosemite. The tour also stops at the Golden gate Bridge allowing for great pictures.Written March 11, 2025
- WendyLLasithi0 contributionsSuperb day out with a superb guide and driver. What a superb day we had, Danilo was a great guide and driver, so knowledgable. Muir Woods is just breathtaking we had a wonderful time and then we went to Sausalito for the afternoon and opted to take the ferry back. We had a lovely lunch overlooking the bay. We would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to visit the woods.Written March 11, 2025
- HSCondo0 contributionsSafe driver and an excellent storyteller on Muir Woods Tour. Our driver, Kevin, captivated the entire bus with insights about points of interest along the way to Muir Woods. These included historical and cultural events that profoundly shaped the development of San Francisco and Sausalito. We also delved into the construction of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and the significance of John Muir’s conservation efforts. Throughout the drive, Kevin’s engaging and articulate narration made the journey an enriching and informative experience.Written March 10, 2025

- VacaSunCH0 contributionsNot a good value for what you get. What you ar paying for with this tour is the ride out to Muir Woods and Sausalito. Our bus driver was very nice and gave us some histrorical highlights of the area. There is no tour of Muir Woods or Saucalito. The bus takes you there, where you have 1.5 hour to enjoy the park. then to Sausalito. There were three of us. We could have taken a Lyft for about $110 round trip. $15 each to get into the park - with more time in the park. This was not a great value. Having said that the Muir Woods are gorgeous and a must do when visiting SF.Written March 10, 2025
- Tarnz0 contributionsHIGHLY RECOMMENDED!What a great day and value for money! We went to 5 wineries in the end, with each having their own wonderful wines and lovely people taking you through. Outstanding views from some and others have quaint little endearing features. We stopped for lunch in Sonoma, which was gorgeous! Got picked up at 9am and back around 6pm, with new friends made along the way. Highly recommend it!Written March 9, 2025

- Steven C0 contributionsNapa valley wine tourThis tour is excellent from start to finish. Our tour guide, Don, was relaxed and informative, telling us things as we went along. The tour itself was setup pretty well, visiting 2 wineries in the morning, then lunch, then the 3rd winery. Each winery went into depth of the wine making process and was very well done. A good day out, would definitely recommend.Written February 27, 2025

Full coach picked us up from Union Square, with quick stop off at Fisherman’s Wharf. Felt like a full tour of San Fran, with the driver Greg full of information and he was excellent throughout. Stop off after crossing Golden Gate for photos was a nice touch as well. Lots more commentary whilst travelling to the vineyards to help pass the time and give us useful info ready for the tastings. First two tastings were excellent, informative and the wines were of a very high standard, who does not want to drink wine at 10.30 in the morning (it’s 5 o/clock somewhere in the world). Drop off for lunch in Sanoma was lovely. Last tasting was the least enjoyable, didn’t help it rained, but our host had done two before us so she was flagging! Excellent value for money, informative and great wines, made all the better by Greg! Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it!

Hello D3190SGbrianh,
We're thrilled to hear about your enjoyable experience on our tour, thanks to the excellent guidance from our driver Greg. The thoughtful stops and insightful commentary, along with the exceptional tastings, added to your day. We appreciate your feedback, even about the less enjoyable last tasting, and we'll use it to improve. Thank you for recommending us, and we hope to welcome you back for another memorable journey in the future.

The trip was well-timed and comfortable. We had a large but fun group of people from all over the world. The wineries, the vineyards and the service was beautiful. Mr Chablis made the trip fun but was a very responsible and took care of his group. But the wine!
Ah yes - the wine tastings were excellent and generous as evidenced by the singing the whole way home.

Great tour!
If I could add one note, it would be to do the dating at the winery with no chairs to sit in for the tasting first thing in the day instead of last when we have already had lots to 'taste'!

Good all around, sutter home winery wasn’t expected on the tour. Bottles are as cheap as 10 dollars at our local grocery stores so I was hoping for a bit better selection.

We found our Napa and Sonoma wine tour on Viator and booked it from there. Booking was very easy and website is user friendly. I read all the reviews before booking because I'm weird like that.
A few things about Grey Line, I would've given them five stars but there are things they missed.
There is an option to get picked up from your hotel which you just have to call in or email. We emailed but didn't get a confirmation so we called again. We were afraid they were going to forget about us but the bus did pick us up but it was a different bus. Then it picked up a couple more people and dropped us off to the main office near union square.
When we got to the office, the line was long which I didn't care but I did care about having a spot in the bus sitting next to my boyfriend. We got to be bus and it was already full and we're just lucky to find 2 seats next to each other so that we can sit next to each other.
The bus driver was also the tour guide. I honestly forgot his name but he was really good and I was really happy that he was excellent at this tour. Learned so much from him more than the people in the wineries.
We went to 3 wineries, Cline Cellars, Andretti, and Sutter Home. I wished the winery choices were better but our experience were good at all the wineries. We enjoyed about 3 or more wines at each winery. We actually joined the wine club at Andretti lol. We stopped at Yountville for lunch. One thing I wished they told us was that they should've let us know that most restaurants there are reservation so we could've planned ahead but we found a burger place and was fine with it.
Drive back was good but the driver didn't stop at the Napa Valley welcome sign which I really wanted to take a picture with - it's a tourist bus of course everyone wants a picture with the Napa Valley welcome sign so I would recommend to work on that Grey Line.
Return was easy, they had 2 drop offs which were fisherman's wharf and union square and some people got dropped off to the SFO airport which was nice of them. Will do this again with Grey Line but with a different package. Definitely worth the money, we paid about $120 and it was easy and fun.
