To start off this combo tour, head to Pier 33 to catch the ferry to Alcatraz Island. Once you reach the island, go on a self-guided audio tour and listen to award-winning commentary available in 11 languages. You can also tour its historic gardens and spot birds and wildlife. After viewing Alcatraz, take the ferry back to Pier 33 in time to catch your evening cruise. Your next cruise takes off in the evening from Pier 43, so make your way with plenty of time to board the boat. On the boat, you decide if you’d like to stay outside on the deck or head to the inside deck to stay warm. Both decks offer views as you sail under the Bay Bridge and Golden Gate Bridge. The cruise also includes a buffet of light appetizers, a drink ticket for wine or beer, and onboard commentary and live music. Your cruise ends back at Fisherman’s Wharf.

  • No minors under the age of 18 are allowed to tour Alcatraz Island without the accompaniment of an adult. An adult must be with them at all times while on their tour of Alcatraz Island.
  • All passenger names are required in order to receive Alcatraz tickets
  • The Alcatraz Cellhouse audio tour is available in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

You have to get tickets from 2 different areas you might as well go down there and get them yourself. Cheaper!!
Big thing is they have 2 different times to get 2 different boats.
You don’t need to sail under the Golden Gate Bridge in January...rains a lot. Just drive or walk the bridge cheaper. Red and white cruise who is who Viator deals does not give MONEY back. We got a night tour the day before no problem. $45 each just to Alcatraz

Your next cruise takes off in the evening from Pier 43, so make your way with plenty of time to board the boat. We had no intention of misleading you and feel we are clear that this product is a combo Alcatraz plus Twilight Cruise. We are sincerely sorry you feel disappointed as many people have loved our combo in the past.

I husband loved the trip to Alcatraz and we both loved the cruise. We were lucky to go at a quiet time to both although big queues to get to Alcatraz arriving 30 mins before due time. Fantastic views, food, drink and sailing at sunset.

Definitely one of our favorite parts of visiting San Fran! Alcatraz was awesome. The twilight / sunset cruise especially was amazing. Great views of the city. Live music. Do it if you get the chance!

Excellent value for money

Pre-booked this cruise about 2 months before our travel. Well worth it as I don’t think we would have got on the Alcatraz cruise by turning up on the day. Straight forward arrangement on picking up the tickets but do take ID. Excellent trip to Alcatraz & we were blessed with such good weather for the sunset cruise. So pleased we did this & booked well in advance. Would most definitely recommend.

Alcatraz was well organised & really interesting. Sunset cruise was outstanding although a bit chilly! Take a jacket.

We booked direct with Alcatraz online 2 months ago for a 9.30 start. Email received immediately with all relevant details on what time to arrive and where. Found the pier with no problem, provided documents and all was very quick and smooth.
Ride out on ferry was super with great views of San Francisco, Golden gate bridge and Bay Bridge. Once on the Island, and after reading reviews, we by-passed the first talk with a warden and went straight up the bank and to the Inside Audio Tour. Excellent, informative tour. Both my 17 year old and 13 year old were just as interested and intrigued as myself and husband. We were there longer than anticipated however we could easily have stayed for longer. Ferry back was easy.
Do not miss it!

Booked our trip over a month ago, tickets were confirmed and we were told where to collect them from when we arrived only to receive an email 3 days prior to the trip cancelling due to ticket availability! Very poor service, clearly overbook - avoid at all costs!! There are also much cheaper tour operators out there that don't let you down!
