- ksweenster0 contributionsA must- do SF Adventure!I’ve taken my east coast family on AdventureCat at least 20 times over the past 25 years that I’ve lived in San Francisco and it’s always their favorite memory of the trip. Captain Chad and crew, esp Freddy, are charming, funny and love what they do. A must SF tourist attraction!Written November 30, 2024
- patrickshann0n0 contributionsWonderful trip!EXCELLENT. Would highly recommend. Great crew, very friendly and helpful. Just a great view of the bay and out past Golden Gate Bridge. 1 1/2 hours actually perfect. Look forward to doing this trip in future visit. Worth every penny.Written October 20, 2024
- Chasmartin11280 contributionsWell done but relaxing, chilled music should have been chosen, not the Jackson 5.All parts of the trip were great except the music. Music was 70's music of the Jackson 5. This did not match the demographic.Written October 20, 2024
- KScott17100 contributionsCan’t get a better Bay tripAbsolutely amazing trip. Crew were extremely knowledgeable and capable sailors. So peaceful a trip away from the hustle and bustle of the front. Less people means clearer views as well Highly recommendWritten October 3, 2024
- daphneb5050 contributionsA lovely afternoon. The skipper and her crew were friendly and professional. The outing ran exactly to schedule. There was no narrated tour guide spiel - only the sound of the wind and the waves. The engine was used during docking and occasionally at sea but some time was spent purely under sail. And with the sun shining and a good breeze blowing, this was a lovely outing.Written October 1, 2024

- justinhX7133OG0 contributionsFun, affordable day in the Bay!The crew was great, and super friendly. The captain took our 6yo daughter up to pilot the boat at one point, which was a nice surprise, and left us with some great pictures. We booked this tour very last minute, and it was affordable and convenient. Highly recommended!Written September 3, 2024
- Jerry W0 contributionsBest way to enjoy the Bay!We’ve been sailing with them since they first started and have never been disappointed. Every time we enjoy the ride and if you bring your out of town guests they’ll still talk about it as a highlight years later. Staff is friendly, experienced and thoughtful. We always feel in good hands no matter how windy it gets.Written August 30, 2024

- Omar W0 contributionsBeautiful day - Beautiful cruiseThe crew was great, the boat was great condition, and this being our first time on a catamaran, the net experience was pretty cool. We sailed along the coast, under the bridge and around the backside of Alcatraz and got close for great pictures. Ours was not an audio tour, still awesomeWritten August 16, 2024

- 745JAMESC7450 contributionsThis was the highlight of our San Francisco excursion! We had an amazing time from start to finish on the Catamaran with our family. We lounged and relaxed on the nets over the water as we headed out to the bay. Our grandchildren had great fun and many laughs as the water occasionally splashed up and cooled them with a light spray. They loved the motion of the net as it rose up and down. It was exhilarating going under the Golden Gate Bridge and watching the wind/kite surfers all around us. The staff was so friendly they felt like family. Each of our grandchildren were given the opportunity to wear the captains hat and steer the vessel while the staff took photos. This was the highlight of our San Francisco excursion!!!Written August 5, 2024

We went out for the full moon sail and got lucky with a beautiful evening. Slight wind an amazing sunset and a spectacular full moon rise. We sailed under the Golden Gate, across the back side of Alcatraz and back to Pier 39. The captain (s) were knowledgeable, practiced social distancing and wore masks. Only 12 passengers were on board (when typically there are 5x's that number) making for plenty of room to keep a safe distance. Beer, wine and sodas are available to purchase. A jacket is always recommended in the City.

This was a fun experience! A great crew that was really friendly and helpful. We sailed on the bay and went right under the GGB. Dress warmly and wear a jacket as it is cold on the water with the wind gusting, and you might get splashed by the water like I did. I really enjoyed seeing the city and the bay area from the water and watching the sun set behind the Marin headlands.

Absolutely a great value! The views of the city, and all of the key places around the bay at sunset are amazing. The crew made it a very enjoyable experience, and there was plenty of space in and around the boat to have an open view to every place. The jackets they provide on board were perfect since the wind was chilly in the evening and my light jacket wasn’t enough! We did this on our first night and loved having it on our first day of our trip to get a different view of the Bay Area!

Very nice experience. We unfortunately visited on a cloudy evening, so the sunset was not visible below the clouds, but it was still awesome to see the Golden Gate Bridge so close. 1 alcoholic drink per person included. Prices are reasonable to purchase a second or third. Dress warmly! We visited in June and it was downright chilly on the water. The boat offers coats for those who come not well dressed.

My siblings and I bought this for our parents for a special birthday and they absolutely loved it. The lady who was their captain was really great and they said it was a perfect evening trip to end our time in San Francisco. We booked them the 6:30 trip on a Sunday and we’re impressed by the space on the boat (not overcrowded at all - had plenty of movement space) and the service by staff. They received one alcoholic drink but felt that was enough as they enjoyed taking in the scenery. It was slightly chilly so they were provided warm coats which was a lovely touch and felt that the time was perfect for sunset. If you want a great once in a lifetime experience without breaking the bank, myself and my parents would definitely advise booking.

The crew is very welcoming and extremely helpful. The sunset cruise was super fun even though the weather wasn’t ideal.
I prefer this type of boat (catamaran) over the usual cruise/ferry boats, it makes the trip much more fun and adventurous!
My parents and I had a great time and we would definitely recommend Adventure Cat to anyone looking for a fun day or evening sailing on the Bay!

The boat and crew are top notch. The cabin is both large and open social distancing is not a problem. Great views of the city. The catamaran provides a very stable ride actual sailing verses motoring in a sail boat.

On Friday May 14th we boarded the Catamaran for our romantic Sunset Tour of the Bay area. We arrived 30minutes in advance only to have to wait in the freezing cold to board the boat. Warning bells started to ring. The boat was huge not the romantic intimate trip billed. We set off and the sea was a tad choppy. As a sailor, I was wondering why the boat was going so slowly which made it more choppy. I spoke to the Captain who agreed with me, but said he was not going to interfere with his crew and how they were handling the boat. One of the sails was flapping and needed to be pulled in, and only after repeatedly asking him to do something did he respond.
When I asked for the guided tour, he told me it was only available in Chinese and asked what I wanted to know. He then disappeared.
The voyage was awful.

I took our team out for this sunset cruise and San Francisco was unusually warm at 83 Degrees F. We sailed out underneath the Golden Gate Bridge and back. The views of the city and the bridge were unbelievable and I came to San Francisco in 1967 as a child. The Adventure Cat crew were very friendly and made the whole trip fun.
The boat is set up to keep you warm even if it is not 83 Degrees with an enclosed cabin and Adventure Cat even provides coats if you forgot yours. Even if you have lived in San Francisco as I have a long time this sunset boat trip is worth the money.

It was just a perfect day for a cruise around the bay. They were very patient about waiting for us stragglers. My last trip to SF was about 20 years ago, and this time I took my 18-year old nephew for company. We booked it for the evening of our first day and it was impossible for him to hold on to any vestige of being a “cool and quiet” teen. Whenever we caught each other’s eyes he was smiling from ear to ear and just kept repeating, “this is so perfect.” When we went back on the dock, there were a couple of sea lions posing for all they were worth.

I bought tickets for my bf bday. However he sometimes can get sea sick. Do you think this cruise will cause him to get sea sick or do you think it will be ok? It looks fun and really want to keep the tickets so I hoping it will be ok.
