- TheAmericanSp0rtsman0 contributionsTreated like royalty! How can you go to Hawaii and not do a Luau? After careful consideration, we chose the "Chiefs Luau" and we were not disappointed. The food, the show and the complete evening was absolutely wonderful! I could not imagine the show being much better. The only drawback was the chairs were not very comfortable although I don't know what they could have done to provide better seats unless they used bench seating.Written August 23, 2024

- Jawk240 contributionsFantasticThe concierge at the timeshare recommended this luau and she didn’t disappoint. Transportation was included which took about 20 minutes fine the Hilton Village and the host was hilarious. I purchased the two drink package and I chose a white wine and a Maiti. Food options included; pork, chicken, rice, bread, salad and noodles. I have to say the entertainment was the best part, tons of energy by the entertainers and the bar staff was very accommodating.Written May 21, 2024
- Gabriel B0 contributionsAwful In Every Way!-Chiefs Lua cancelled at noon same day due to “weather” but rescheduled for two days later when there was way worse weather! -To make matters worse the day of the rescheduled Lua they were not able to confirm if the Lua was still happening and told me “they might cancel again at 5pm.” The Lua is supposed to start at 5pm! They would not give us a refund so essentially we were held hostage to the booking not sure if it was going to be cancelled for a second time! -It appeared real reason for cancelling the first time was due to low occupancy. The rescheduled Lua ended up happening IN THE POURING RAIN! Even though the reason for cancelling the first Lua was due to rain! So this confirmed to us that the real reason was due to low occupancy. -Lua is set in a RUN DOWN DILAPIDATED WATER PARK!!! -Food is cafeteria quality at best and the pork seems like it’s the same pork they would serve in the water park NOT the pig from the ground! -Alcoholic drinks were PATHETIC! Literally drops of run in pineapple just and they called that a Mia Thai! -There are more bad things to mention but I don’t have time to list them all. On a positive note the fire show was descent. -500$ waste of money for 2 people DO NOT GO!Written May 16, 2024

- undertakernumber1fan0 contributionsYou have to see thisThis Totally blew my mind You have to check this out If youre going to Hawaii The chief was hysterical He had us laughing the whole time the dancing that they did from different parts of the world incredible But the thing that will blow your mind the most is the fire dancing Not only did they twirl around all the fire They lived the stage on fire on top of it I couldn't swore. That swallowed I was standing in the fire It was awesome One of the best things Ive ever seen One of the highlights of the trip actually Do yourself a favor and check these people out You won't regret itWritten April 3, 2024
- mommyrollins0 contributionsLuauWe received transportation to the venue and arrived just as initial show was starting. Outside seating at water park staged venue lacked ambiance. Sat in plastic chairs out on grassy area. Average buffet style food. Show was very good most especially the fire dancing which was the best part of the show. We expected more from the pricing.Written March 4, 2024
- 677stewartf0 contributionsWell Done Luau! This Luau was amazing! There was good food, good hospitality and great entertainment!!! The talent from all the performers were top notch. The Chief is super talented as well and works hard at giving you a great show…he even threw in some comedy! I recommend this Luau completely! The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the transportation there. There were many pick up points and then a busy highway to get there. From our pickup to the Luau…we were on the bus for about 2 hours. I believe we missed a few things that started at 5pm. We were worried we were even going to miss the pig presentation but I think the chief waited for our bus. That was the only downside. I’d do it again though. It was worry free and we didn’t have to navigate anything which was nice, I just wish they had a better system so you’re not on the bus that long. The way home was faster, less traffic, which was lovely! Thank you to all!!!Written February 24, 2024
- 127dariusd0 contributionsGreat Luau experience!Really appreciated the authenticity of this Luau! The Chief told his story, about his life, about the ways of his people, and even took the time to emphasize how we are all the same people, love and unity for us all. My husband and I had a GREAT time at the luau because of the performers, but I have to knock off a star for the cultural ambassador guy (tour guide?) on the motor coach. Honestly, he was preachy and lecturing everyone the ride there and back...griping about people not wanting to participate in trip “activities,” ramming the importance of tipping him down everyone’s throats, having us to watch his fishing video (and nagging us to find it on YouTube later), preemptively criticizing anyone who may have an issue with the shots of him spear fishing...just ugh. We got pretty accustomed to knowing that just about every time he opened his mouth, it was going to be something negative or grouchy. I’d say another negative was probably the food not being so great and them running out of food (and even plates) way too quickly. Anyway, if we were to do it differently, we probably would have rented a car or ubered to the luau.

Can you please direct message me with either the date you attended and your bus number if you recall, or the name of your guide? Your criticism is kind and constructive, and being able to share it with him would make both him and our luau better. This kind of feedback is so important to us. Mahalo for taking the time to review your experience with us.!

This has been the most amazing highlight of our trip! The MC was fantastic and hilarious. My children were so engaged with the shows and that’s saying a lot bc they’re only 5 and 7 yrs old!! Would highly recommend paying the extra price for the royal experience, bc you get better seating to have a better view and audio of the performances, we got gifts such as the beautiful orchid leis, head bands, and beach towels, and another plus was that we were able to get our food first! The food by the way was very savory and delicious, my picky eaters finished half their plates. We left the luau with all smiling happy faces!

WOW! My favorite luau that I attended during my stay!
We got the Waikiki Transportation and pick up was just down the street from where were staying. Our 'Guide" was Cousin Vee who was an absolute delight. We were in a good bit of traffic and though the drive had to have been close to an hour it was a lot of fun having her on board! She told us all about her family life and how her and all of her siblings go to school on the island work with Chief's luau. She pointed out sights we saw along the way and gave great insight to Hawaiian Traditions and what to expect out of the luau.
This girl even went as far as to use her lipstick like face paint and perform a Haka on the bus for us! I was SHOCKED when she started to draw on her face but it definitely made her memorable! I seriously could not talk this girl up enough. Even during the luau she was a presence, friendly, helpful, and totally should have won when Chief asked us to make noise for our guides.
The check in process was quick and easy, filled with friendly faces. We sat in the royal section, so during check in we got a Lei Greeting and a picture with the Dancers. We also got a mixed drink upon entry, I think it was a Maitai but it was way sweeter than the maitais we got during the show so it might not have been. Either way it was super tasty.
When the show actually started the Chief came out and made a few jokes. We were sitting pretty front and center, and to my surprise he pulled ME up on the stage. I very publicly embarrassed myself. It was a lot of fun but I hope my friends will delete the video they took of me and posted on facebook so it can die. But we all know that things on the internet last forever. The good part of embarrassing myself though is that I did get to the kiss the cheeks of a line of attractive men, so you know. A moment of Embarrassment for a Moment of Bliss LOL.
The show itself was the best I had seen, and I went to three different luaus while we were on the island. The Chief was Hilarious! This man seriously had us rolling through the entire night! The music, the dancing, the stories, it was all amazing.
The big Finale was the fire Knife dancing. It was pretty dark through the whole venue but it was worth the darkness to really see the flames moving. There had to have been at least 10-15 (maybe more) men dancing at once at the end of it. It was magnificent!
The food was also really good! It was buffet style and there was plenty for seconds. Cousin Vee told us when we were on the bus that if we aren't "stuffed to the brim" but the time we return we didn't enjoy the luau right, so I made sure to eat as much as I could!

We spent the week in the Hawaiian islands and wanted to end with a luau. We explored options along the way and came upon Chief’s luau. It was fairly priced and we were extremely happy with the experience. The Chief is the star of the show and not only introduces you to Hawaiian culture and its food but makes it pretty entertaining along the way with his joking commentary and good spirit. You get what you would expect from the luau including fire dances along with different forms of entertainment. The food was pretty good especially if you like pulled pork. Fish was good too. Only criticism was the alcoholic drinks were pricey however that’s to be expected. I would recommend this show for either couples or large families. Aloha!

I’ll start by saying the performers are great. Sorry to say that’s the only positive thing I can write. I understand there’s a large number of performers and everyone needs to get paid. However, the food is horrid! At that price point I expected better or at least decent. The salad was warm the entree was not warm and nothing was good. When it comes to alcohol, I’m a light weight. Sucked down two Mai Tais that I’m pretty sure had zero alcohol considering drinking the neck of a beer gets me buzzed.
Be really careful of butter served with meal, it’s completely melted, my daughter opened hers and it went all over her new dress (purchased for luau). Chief says the men do all the cooking, well guys it’s time to let the ladies teach you something! First time in Hawaii we really wanted to go to luau but honestly we probably would of enjoyed hanging out on the beach more. Three stars was solely based on performers, realistically one star would be more accurate I just hate to sway business in these times. But this was one of the biggest rip-offs of my life. Do yourself and wallet a favor and skip it. 😕

The best Luau we have ever been too. On June 13th our family of 10 splurged for the Royal Expericnce at Chiefs Luau and also for a limo to/from the luau since at this time you had to arrange your own transportation because of restrictions due to COVID. Let me tell you it was totally worth the extra money.
We were celebrating my husband's and my 50th Wedding Anniversary to the exact day. We were greeted with a refreshing Mai Tai drink for adults and punch for our teens, Fresh Flower Leis, laced palm crowns, and our special souvenir was a beach towel. We had great seats in front of the stage, were able to receive our food in the first group and also additional drink coupons. The Chief celebrated graduates, newlyweds and couples celebrating their Anniversaries. Chief Sielu called my husband and me on stage and made us feel very special with a beautiful Hawaiian Bouquet and also presented all the Ladies celebrating Anniversaries and newlyweds with Hawaiian Flower bouquets.
The all you can eat Hawaiian Feast was delicious and very filling We loved the Kalua Pork, fish and chicken as well as all the other typical Hawaiian dishes.
Chief Sielu is a wonderful host and comedian and his Ohana provided an awesome show from start to finish with the exciting fire finale.
We brought back wonderful memories of a lifetime and an AWESOME experience. If you are deciding on a Luau why not the best, this LUAU is totally worth the money!

Great food and entertainment! We paid through the.l nose for the Royal Package and basically got a tshirt. It’s not a big place, son you don’t need to pay more to be close. They also didn’t do last call, so the extra drinks in our package went to waste. The one drink I did get served it was supposedly a double so it cost two tickets. But then when I went up to get my own drink with one ticket, it was the exact same size.
The bus service was horrible- we were carsick from the driving and we waited a long time to then get transferred on another bus before leaving Waikiki. We were so late my daughter missed the activities beforehand that were part of our package. My friend was on a different bus and she said her tour guide was really fun and doing trivia for a drink tickets on the way there. Ours remembered to introduce herself for two seconds about 10 minutes before we arrived.
I would recommend the show and food but do not pay for the Royal Package with transportation- total rip off for a small fortune (over $600)!!

What a memorable experience it was to be there, learn and experience Polynesian culture. The Chief is probably one of best entertainers I’ve seen in my life. The area was set up pretty nice, the cast and their crew were kind and very particular about everyone following covid protocols. The performances very impressive, specially fire dances as we saw of the world’s best fire artists.
The food though was average and there weren’t many choices for vegetarians. Even though there were long lines to get drinks after right around show started, I’d have to say the arrangement to serve dinner was pretty well done as they picked people by tables and asked them to get food one by one. 2 lines for people who’d like a pre arranged plate with everything on menu and a single line for those who’d like to selectively pick what they wanna eat. Some of us even got their fresh bouquet of tropical flowers 💐 I’d highly recommend this to everyone looking to experience a Hawaiian luau with all pomp and show!!

This was such a fun luau. The entire luau team is so talented - from the dancers to the singers, and you can tell that chief has such a big heart. The food was very good, and you have 2 options of going through the line where they give you some of every menu item, or the other line where you can choose what you want to eat. Each menu item also listed any potential allergy ingredients, which was very important to us as we have a member of our party with severe food allergies.
We had a rental car, so we just drove to the luau. When I called and purchased our tickets, I did ask about transportation, and was told it is $40 per person, but it is cheaper than Uber if you decide to go that route. Also, it seems that transportation is a first come first serve, because they can only take so many. Also, let the sales rep know where you are staying to see if transportation is an option.
The luau started around 6. My advice would be not to get there until around 5:30 because the traffic jam with those trying to get in and those who are leaving the water park is just a mess.

Do you still need to be vaccinated to attend?

Not now, I believe that all travel restrictions have been lifted for customers. Most tourist places have their servers vaccinated and masked for the comfort of the tourists.

That’s hard to say. Uber runs a lot there but is expensive. There are also taxi services etc. would recommend checking with some of those folks to get a solid answer. Or, rent the most compact car there is and drive around and see the island at your leisure.

You would need to go to Safe Travels of Hawaii. You need to register there. You and any one traveling with you. Scan a copy of your Covid card..They send a Q scan to you.
It has all the info in there web site. It sounds like alot. And when you are in Hawaii make sure you have your card cause some places require you to have it when you go to places to eat.

When we were there, you had to have either a vaccination card, or negative test no more than 72 hours old. If it is past that time most places require another test. It may have change since we were there in Sep. Hope this helps
