My friend and I booked an all-day Yellowstone tour without knowing exactly what we were getting into. The price on the AllTrans website was much lower than what we were quoted over the phone, but we went with it anyway, and we were SO glad that we did. We wound up being the only 2 people on our tour.
Our guide was Jesse. He is amazing. Exceptionally knowledgeable about essentially every aspect of the area, but able to communicate in an accessible way that anyone could understand and connect with. Jesse has props to go along with his “presentation”, which really add to the experience and allow you to learn about more of the park that what you can manage to see in one day. It is clear he loves what he does.
The tour itself is gentle. It is a trip around the southern loop of Yellowstone. It requires some intermittent walking, but no steep stairs or paths. You will see many of the most famous attractions, and there are ample wildlife viewing opportunities. Lunch is not provided, but healthy snacks and water/tea/soda is available for free.
This was a once in a lifetime experience for me, that I will never forget. Jesse was so great!

Jesse O’Connor was excellent. He knew the terrain like the back of his hand, and you could tell. Mr. O’Connor always had backstories for the land, while providing historical trivia and anecdotes to support the tour. We could really tell that Mr. O’Connor backpacks at Grand Teton and Yellowstone in his free time. As far as basics of tour guiding: passionate voice, being patient while hiking, coordinating pickup/drop times and places, my family and I were never confused with the itinerary. From telling us the best spots for pictures and going on the best trails unheard to the general public which have the best views, my family and I strongly recommend you choose Jesse O’Connor for your tour!

Where do I start? Well let’s start with “Jesse O’Connor” our guide who was amazing!!!! Such a wealth of knowledge, love for the Park and excitement about his job made us feel the same. He was sooooo good that other people would follow our tour and listen, asking questions and staring in amazement at his knowledge. In fact the knowledge he imparted was used for the rest of our trip. We knew so much more and were able to experience our next excursion with his stories, experiences and tidbits of advice. He always had us in the right spot, at the right time and we managed to see whole south loop. If he couldn’t get us parked at the front he dropped us off and then magically appeared to lead the way. We have done many tours, traveled to many places and Wyoming you have a gem in Jesse. Thank you for giving so much to make sure our time was well spent. Please don’t be daunted by the thought of a 12 hour tour cause it was filled to the brim. I highly recommend this tour

This trip was spectacular! Jesse O’Connor is an astounding tour guide, who knows how to inform the travelers in a professional, yet understandable way. We saw many things on the trip that most Yellowstone tourists have never even heard of. From wildlife, to plants, to geography, to history, Jesse is well educated on any subject thrown his way. I highly recommend this tour and tour guide!

Wonderful guide and experience! Mr. Jesse is an outgoing personality that gives you a wealth of knowledge of Yellowstone and the Tetons! Would highly recommend for any visitor wanting the full experience the moment you step onto the bus. We went with Jackson Hole Bible College, and Mr. Jesse was able to take us on along the story of Yellowstone National Park and engaging our 40+ members in the secrets of the park! He answered all and any questions the students and staff had, giving us the smallest of details and facts he knew just off the top of his brain! Mr. Jesse showed his secured view of God’s handiwork seen throughout all creation, having scientific evidence to support Biblical claims. Make sure to visit Teton National Park with him as well, he will not disappoint from the bus ride talks, the invigorating hikes, and the small facts found in every corner of the parks! He loves what he does and it shows every second.

I am a student at Jackson Hole Bible college and Jesse O’Connor led our tour of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National park. He is a truly exceptional guide. Every time I thought of a question he was already answering it before I could ask.
He gives us all the building blocks and information but let’s us build our own opinion with the information he’s given us.

From the moment we were picked up Jessie was working to make everyone comfortable throughout the entire day. He was a mine of interesting information and made the trip fly by. He had the best secret stops for bathroom breaks and food without the long lines that allowed us to get a lot in without wasting time. The bus was the most comfortable I have ever been on with large windows for viewing. Could not have been happier I highly recommend.

Mike picked us up bright and early at 6 am and as the saying goes the early bird gets the worm - less than an hour into the trip (the tour barely began as we weren't even in Yellowstone) we saw Grizzly bear 610 and her two sub-adults. Mike was very knowledgeable and showed us all the highlights. We were even part of a Bison parade in the Hayden Valley. Highly recommend a private tour to anyone visiting Yellowstone National Park.

My favorite part of the experience was how knowledgeable the tour guide was. He talked about the park and told us all facts and why the geysers do what they do. Our guide was very sweet, he happily offered to take pictures of us with the mountain because he knew a trick, and he was just a bubbly guy all around!

The only reason I give them one star is because our driver deserves 4 stars. Everything else about this company is absolutely terrible. If you are looking to book a tour USE A DIFFERENT COMPANY! There are too many reasons to list so just go to a different company.

How many people will be on the tour? Is there a guarantee that the tour will go with the current Yellowstone conditions?

Is there a lot of walking on this tour? My husband has bad knees and his mobility is very limited.

My daughter’s Fitbit recorded a full six miles of walking. I think this could have been shortened and no one was forced to walk, it just added more interest to the trip

We are stay in Wilson, WY in a condo. If we need to drive to Jackson Hole for pickup, where can we park from early AM until late PM (after the tour)? Or, is it possible to be picked up at a more convenient location?
Written June 28, 2018
I see they use an express van, is there hiking in this or just mild walks? We do moderate walks, but not too strenuous. Thanks for input.

My 12 year old son has his heart set on going to Yellowstone for his summer vacation. The park is so large that I cannot figure out how make decisions and actually book something. He does not like hiking, but loves animals and museums. I'm renting a car so was considering Wyoming to have more options - see the Grand Tetons, Jackson Hole.... Any suggestions what city to fly into and where to stay would be appreciated.
