- annastrow0 contributionsGreat Family Horseback riding Experience. We had an amazing time on this horseback ride. Our family of four went. The views were breathtaking. We would do it again next time we visit.Written March 6, 2025
- 518karynw0 contributionsNot worth it, false advertisement! We were expecting to go around the river, 1 full hour on the dog sled, and hot chocolate. We got none of that! The guide was friendly, staff inside not so much. We only were on the sled about 35 minutes and basically just went around in a circle. Very very disappointed & especially for this price. I really feel sick about how much this cost for what we got. Be aware!Written February 19, 2025
- natalietU9718ZL0 contributionsFun family adventureWe had a great morning with our 3 children sledding with Nate and Zane. Super fun and energetic adventure! All guides and staff were super friendly and professional. The ranch was About 1 hour away from town.Written February 16, 2025
- BillRock19650 contributionsNot recommended - They need to improve this experienceThe whole experience was just not up to par. Non professional feeling. The excursion was supposed to be 1 hour of dog sledding and hot chocolate. We actually sled for 25 minutes. While sledding, the guide was seemingly training a few of the dogs, there was no explanation or learning experience provided to us. After ending early, no hot chocolate - it just seemed like bad ran operation. Felt somewhat sorry for the dogs as I thought, if they ran the experience that bad - how are the dogs really cared for? On top of all that, this was a very expensive $225/person experience and a 45 minute ride from Jackson Hole. I cannot recommend to others.Written January 17, 2025
- yulimartinez0 contributionsAwesome dog sledding adventure. This was an amazing experience. The dogs are so friendly and our mushers Luke and Chris were great. 100% recommend this activity. The view is breathtaking.Written December 29, 2024
- Connor H0 contributionsEmma, Gabe, and Noah rock! The guides (Emma, Gabe, and Noah) were awesome, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable!! We went out on a beautiful morning and could not give these three any higher praise! Absolutely fantastic experience.Written December 27, 2024
- Roam6167390 contributionsOctober RideWranglers were very friendly. Trail good and the views were beautiful. Horses were very easy going and it was a great ride.Written October 20, 2024
- Venture4043940 contributionsHorse back rideHeart 6 is a beautiful ranch with lots of horses that look very well taken care of. Our guide Luke was very patient the the young and inexperienced riders. This is the perfect ride for beginners and little kids. The scenery was spectacular on the ride, and the horses are all well behaved. If you are already a writer, it's just a lazy relaxing, beautiful ride in beautiful country. Well worth it !!Written October 16, 2024
- annemQ4857KA0 contributionsGreat experienceMy husband, 18 year-old daughter and I had a great time. It was our first time riding and we were a little nervous. The ranchers were fun, helpful and gave us great instruction. It was a beautiful ride and the horses were sweet. I would highly recommend this experience.Written October 16, 2024
- World_Travellers040 contributionsFun horseback ridingHorseback riding with Piper at Heart Six Ranch was fun! Everyone at the ranch was super friendly: the ride itself is basic and it’s around the ranch only. Views are great but that’s it! Not sure it’s worth the $… also, their public restrooms were disgusting so you might think to go somewhere else before you arrive….Written October 14, 2024
- nfr12340 contributionsNot worth itThis is not a 2 hour ride, 1 hour 20 min. Out ride was supposed to be 11-1 but the staff was not ready and we had a big group so we didn’t start the ride until 12. The staff is very nice but they spend a lot of time socializing amongst themselves. If you book this, don’t do it through trip advisor.Written October 9, 2024
- 561tammrar0 contributionsdont use viator for reservation and changes with Heart-Six. Trouble aheadmade reservations through tripadvisor/viator which seemed to cause the issues. i made a reservation and change in date and time 2 months prior and received confirmation email and receipt when paid. we arrived to Heart-Six and their system had us for the original date instead of changed date. we were told they could do nothing about it they were full and nothing would work. i asked for a refund so i could take the children horseback riding somewhere else we were directed to manager at office/cafe. they mentioned they often have problems with visitor changes. lady and man (mgr) at office were short and rude offering no help but short answers. when ask for a refund - they said they didn’t have our money that viator had it 😳. ridiculous - then told be there was a 24 hour cancellation policy that i could use. 😳 again my reservation with visitor is changed date/time that just passed. then lady argued that original date still had time 😳. anyway we left with crying kids and no horse ride. about 10 minutes later (when in cell range) we received text message that they could now fit us in at the changed time 😳. i could go on - but that’s the jest of it. very disappointed with Heart-Six ManagementWritten October 9, 2024
- 524virginiad0 contributionsEnjoy the rideHorses and guests are very well taken care of! Beautiful and fun ride. Staff make sure you are safe without scaring you, very friendly to both first time riders and those who have ridden beforeWritten October 7, 2024
- JoeyZago0 contributionsNeat experience but not as scenic as I had hopedGreat experience. Not as scenic as I had hoped but our guide was super friendly and nice. We started a bit late but we still got to get the full experience, I just wish we would have been able to see more of the amazing local scenery rather than just a walk though the woodsWritten September 26, 2024
- LynnB7960 contributionsMediocre at bestMediocre at best. Asked to arrive 1/2 hour prior to start of ride, yet the ride started 1 hour late, and lasted only an hour and 20 minutes, so very misleading on the '2 hour' ride. Chaotic check in. Nobody seemed in charge, or knew what the plan was. The view from horseback was extremely beautiful. I requested several times to stop and get photo of us with the Tetons in the background, but that fell on deaf ears. The guide just kept on riding. There was no stopping for pictures. The experience could've been a lot better with communication and maybe even a slight interest by our guide. :(Written September 26, 2024

We arranged for transportation via Heart Six from our hotel in Jackson. Very key. Driver was great. We arrived on time and were provided awesome gear-bibs, jackets, gloves and helmets-so no worries about any of that. What they had exceeded my ski gear. Our guide, Natalie, was the best! She kept the trip safe without compromising fun. It’s a trail ride, but Natalie had pace and made it fun for all. Definitely recommend

Heart Six is a great, community-minded organization. You want breakfast, lunch, or dinner? The Buffalo Valley Cafe is affiliated with the Heart Six in some way. Want a finer dining experience? The Heart Six has a restaurant. Want to stay off the beaten path but close to things? The Heart Six has lodging. Want to get some WiFi in a neck of the woods where that's real hard to come by, and reliable cell service is, too? The Heart Six hosts a community center with two public access computers, plus free WiFi. These are great folks.
They also offer lots of things to do, summer or winter. My wife and I wanted to do a little snowmobiling on a recent getaway trip, so we booked through Heart Six. We decided on the Togwotee Pass/Continental Divide ride.
Neither us had ever been on a snowmobile before. Brandon, our guide, wasn't worried. He gave us basic safety and operating instructions, and we were off!
Well, OK, not quite that quickly. First, they suited us up: snowmobile pants and jacket; boots; gloves or mittens; and a helmet. It's wise to dress in layers, although you certainly can leave your jeans on under the snowmobile pants. But get a neck gaiter or a balaclava; you'll want that!
After getting suited up, we took a short ride from Heart Six to the Hatchet Resort. The Hatchet is closed during the winter, but Heart Six keeps their sleds there. Once there, as I said, Brandon went through operations and safety with us, and then we were off.
The trails are groomed nicely. And they're comfortably wide. Brandon was a great guide, leading us on, but looking back quite frequently to make sure we were doing fine. We made a number of stops along the way, both for the scenery (and photo-taking), and just to take a brief rest. It was a sunny day with a breathtakingly blue sky, so this was perfect!
This particular trip follows one of a number of groomed trails in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. I'm sure glad Brandon knew where he was going, because sometimes the trail wound a bit through forested areas (that were stunningly beautiful with all the snow), and sometimes over brief straightaways. Only a few times did we come across someone else out riding, although the evidence was there that we were not the first ones on that trail!
Up and up we went, although we weren't doing the work. Once you get used to a snowmobile, things become easier, of course, and Brandon had a nice way of teaching without saying anything. Midway through our morning (the trip *up* the mountain), we came upon a very, very large and relatively flat area that was filled with snowmobile tracks. (This was pretty close to Highway 26 that runs across Wyoming.) We saw no other sleds here, but, again, it was fun to see all the other tracks and know that the drivers were just out having fun.
On we went, and then through a small tunnel (under the highway) and onto Forest Road 515 (well, onto the groomed trail on top of that road), and ultimately to Brooks Lake Lodge, where we dismounted and went in for lunch. It was fun to pull up to a place and see nothing but snowmobiles -- because that's the only way you could get here in the winter! And, on leaving, there were even more sleds out there.
On the return trip, we took a few different trails back to the Hatchet -- again, some through gorgeous woods with twisty trails, and other times on straighter paths. The scenery was gorgeous, the snow was awesome, we kept warm, and it was a great afternoon.
If you've never been snowmobiling before, the folks at Heart Six will take good care of you. And if you are an experienced snowmobiler, you'll love the scenery and have fun on a different level. Either way, you'll have awesome scenery. Oh, and, they provide both breakfast and lunch, so you'll be well fed!
Enjoy this ride!

The snowmobiling activity itself was good.great views and a lot of fun riding. The guide was rather arrogant and at times his comments could be taken as rude and he was constantly smoking on each break. They also told us to be there between 12-12:30. We got there an hour early to grab lunch and they said we didn’t have time and rushed us to get dressed and take the food (which was now cold) on the road.

This was a great day!!! Everything was supplied. The gear was in excellent shape, new for the most part. They were accommodating in fitting us with boots ,bibs, gloves and helmets. This is what we wanted, as we had gear.
We were lucky to get Denver was our guide. He had a wealth of knowledge about the area and was great about stopping for photos. He was great about keeping the day safe and fun with this humor. He also delivered us and another couple back to the hotel. Denver was the best. I’d recommend asking for him.
