About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- brianneolin0 contributionsDifferent trip than the one I planned, but a great time nonethelessI actually signed up for the Cave Point kayak tour but the lake/weather forecast was not ideal for paddling. Door County Kayak Tours was very accommodating, they let me know a day ahead of time that my scheduled trip was a no-go and gave me several options as to what I could do instead. I opted for the Death's Door tour and ended up having a great time. I learned a lot and really enjoyed the scenery. Madeline was an awesome guide!Written September 18, 2024
- Kris C0 contributionsGirls Trip- Kayak TourWe had a fun tour with Evan, kayaking to Cave Point. He was very helpful and informative. We would highly recommend Evan and this tour!Written September 18, 2024
- Relax676795454940 contributionsPerfect!Erin was awesome! We rescheduled to a different tour, same day due to weather, and so glad we were able to do so! Highly recommend!Written September 17, 2024

- ryankM3646CT0 contributionsFun tourGreat tour, and they were very dog friendly! The guide did a good job making sure the different skill levels were accommodated.Written August 26, 2024
- amypP7407IM0 contributionsA+ Business, Service and Tours! This is a great company and the tours are excellent! Last year we did the Cave Point Kayak tour, which we loved. We booked it again for this year, but the weather did not cooperate. The staff at Door County Kayak Tours worked with us to find an alternative, and we did the fat tire e-bike tour with Rachael. She was very fun and explained everything well and helped match the activity to our ability and interests. Highly recommend!Written August 18, 2024
- W4930DNkevinc0 contributionsWahoo! We had a heckin’ hoot. We pivoted from the cave tours due to weather and were suggested to go to the bluffs instead. Our tour guide was super conversational and knowledgeable about the area and history of Door County. She had great recommendations for food after we had worked up an appetite paddling. All around 5 Stars!Written August 7, 2024
- caseymI8352XF0 contributionsThank you for the awesome experience! If you are looking for a nice leisure paddle along Lake Michigan, by kayak, you won't go wrong with these guys. They work hard--- three tours a day, paddling with people of every level of kayak experience. The guides are charming, friendly, and kind. It was a beautiful experience, and our guide Jackson was a gracious host. He offered to take our pictures and provided us the opportunity to see the geological formations of the area. It honestly looked like we were out in the Caribbean, and the underwater drop-offs, cliffs, and caves were captivating. These tour guides work hard---- taking three tours a day out onto the lake. I felt we had ample time to experience natural splendor, and even lucky enough to have time to take a jump off of a cliff into the lake. Make sure you take the time to thank these folks, and if you have Jackson on your tour, tell him we'll be back next summer!Written August 4, 2024
- daras8330 contributionsBummer of the SummerThis tour was very disappointing. Our tour guide Ethan led off with "I can only speak to 2 things, sleep and kayaking" and he was spot on. He had zero knowledge to share of the area, history, geography, local lore, etc. He spent most of his time tipping over other guides and searching for his phone on the floor of the lake. It was clear the goal was to paddle as fast as possible to the one (1) tiny cave and paddle back. Everyone in our group was exhausted but very little fun had. If you need a ride to the lake and a rental kayak I've got to believe there are less expensive options.Written August 3, 2024
- 31tje0 contributionsA terrible kayakThis was terrible we had to kayak 1 mile into the wind in order to see a tiny cave our guide told us that we didn’t have time to cliff dive and didn’t talk to us the whole paddle. This cave could also be accessed by a 25 yard swim from cave point which doesn’t cost 375 dollars for a family. Over promised under delivered I would not recommend this tour to anyone.Written August 3, 2024
- JulieMP5090 contributionsAn OK tourOur tour was "ok." I've been on many of these types of excursions and I *thought* it would be much like our others - the website seemed professional, the building. Our training seemed to be appropriate. But when we started piling our things onto the kayaks, my husband and I were surprised by the lack of thought that went into telling us what to bring, what would get wet, what should we do if our kayak flipped. We took it in stride - thinking "it's Wisconsin. Just more laid back." Our guide was kind and sweet. But inexperienced. Had there been any mishap, I wouldn't know how she would handle it. The tour - which was pretty expensive - boasted of a cliff jump. Our guide told us we would do it on the way back. I wasn't sure why. Usually you do those things on the way there because by the time you are going back, you're tired. On top of that, the wind had changed and it was more difficult getting back. And that cliff jump - packed with people from the trail! I had a feeling she would skip it. She didn't tell us we would as we were spread out. But she did. Our guide did make sure we safe and stayed with us which I did appreciate. When I booked the tour, I knew that I usually purchase the professional photo anyway - they get me every time. So, I paid the $20 extra. When it came to the end of the tour, our tour guide didn't mention the $20; there was no professional photo. She just texted me some photos that we could have taken. Overall, it was a good thing to do with our teenage boys. But it was expensive for the experience. Please don't pay extra for photos. The kayak guides use their iphones. Our guide was friendly. After other experiences like this, I had too high of expectations. But it was fine.Written August 1, 2024
- Getaway257331335040 contributionsBeautiful afternoon Shipwreck your.We really enjoyed the Bluff Shipwreck tour with Jackson. Afternoon water was slick and clear, gorgeous weather. The Fleetwing wreck was very visible and throughout the tour Jackson did a great job with the history of the area. We had a great time!Written July 26, 2024
- brendat5700 contributionsFun e-bike tourWe had a great time on our Cave Point e-bike tour. We were a little nervous having never ridden e-bikes before (and having some knee issues), but it was so easy and so much fun. Our tour guide Jackson was very knowledgeable and took it at our pace. We would definitely recommend!Written July 22, 2024
- I6158MYdannyl0 contributionsPleasant Time with a Great GuideThis was such a fun time! Our guide Drew was super friendly, talkative and helpful. Thanks for a memorable adventure! Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to see the lake and Door County from a different angle.Written July 21, 2024

Country Home close to the action, but off the main roads. Beautiful room, grounds are amazing. The breakfast is outstanding. And the staff are most helpful.
Nice restaurants, shops are diverse from fine art to clothing.
Enjoy a fish boil, take a boat ferry over to Washington Island. We would return tomorrow, if possible.

This was such a relaxing and enjoyable experience! Excellent tour guide, wonderful variety of food - filling too! Our favorite was the creamery. We even went back there for lunch the next day! Met some really nice people in our group, so good company too! Would highly recommend this tour!
