About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- goodguyjas0 contributionsSuperb full day to see the beautiful scenery and towns of Madeira West along smooth winding roadsThoroughly enjoyable out full day tour with Renalto. It is a long day of driving around the twisting and turning roads of the picturesque Madeira interior but it is worth it to see some lovely views and nice little towns. A good amount of stops to walk around these places and weather permitting you will see some lovely views. Some of the places did suffer from cloud coverage but many stops were absolutely fine and you got to see the towns, the majestic scenery, some cows and bulls and a few waterfalls. Our guide Renalto was incredibly informative and passionate about his job. He really ensured that we got value for money. We enjoyed our lunch break too. Great little town for snacks and restaurants. I did fall asleep on the way back going through all the tunnels but the roads are so good here and so smooth it is easy to relax.Written December 7, 2024
- Velga M0 contributionsTravelling the Nuns Valley, MadeiraI chose to see Nuns Valley by myself with my own eyes. And I did it! The scenery is wonderful! Unbelievable to enjoy steep clifs and deep Valley with multiple flowers I usually see in a flowers shop and do much effort to keep them growing. Seeing the glorious nature I stay speechless. And I honour the people work to make roads and tunnels and letting to see it. Luis, the guide from Happy tour Madeira did wonderful job!Written November 23, 2024
- joannewG4157HN0 contributionsGreat way to see west Madeira.Great way to see the west of the island both south and north. Only had 30 mins at Câmara de Lobos but it whet my appetite so returned on the local bus on another day. Would have liked to have stopped at the viewpoint above Porto Moniz. Informative driver/guide. Great day out! Collected and returned to my hotel! Recommended!Written November 18, 2024
- krassik20190 contributionsThe best tour to see MadeiraThis tour is the best way to see and learn about this magnificent island if you are visiting for a few days and not renting a car. For the west tour we had Leonel -outstanding, knowledgeable, informative and funny. Our group was English and Spanish and he divided the time between the two groups perfectly well switching languages freely. Although the tour was in two languages we were able to learn so much about the history and culture and hear many interesting facts. For the east tour we’ve had Gloria- another fantastic guide! Thank you Feeling Madeira for the wonderful experience, I would definitely recommend this company!Written November 18, 2024
- 568glynh0 contributionsGetting to know MadeiraTwo days that really gave us an insight into Madeira - its landscapes, its history, its people. Both guides were experts and were able to fill in the background information with wit and humour. The towns and villages chosen for stops were ideal, as were the viewpoints and lookouts.Written November 12, 2024
- doloresrY5587JR0 contributionsGuided Moderate Levada walk. Our tour on the 2/10/2024 had a delayed start due to some admin problems for the pick up.(not from our hotel). This may have caused the walk to have been hurried. The group was too large which meant that the guides minimal dialogue was not audible to all. The walk could have been better orchestrated by him having a microphone and going at a slower pace which would have kept us closer together in view of the large group. The overall trip including the driver who did our hotel pick up/return drop off could have explained the situation and compensated by giving some useful commentary on route to meet the guide and people who were late in joining the bus. While the Lavadas are emblematic of Madeira the popular ones are becoming crowded.Written November 2, 2024
- doloresrY5587JR0 contributionsExcellent tours enhanced by the guideWe did the around the island 2 days tour and was able to split the trip in two as we had booked another tour in between the two days. Both trips were very enjoyable and gave an overview of the Island. The experience was enhanced by our Driver /guide RENATO.. He is a true asset to the company. A walking encyclopaedia, a true gentleman, professional with an incredible sense of humour. Both tours were made so much more enjoyable and fun with him. Thank you Renato with an O..!!!! from Dolore & Richard RushbyWritten November 2, 2024
- MarkyD0 contributionsRecommend this enjoyable tripAn excellent day out in a comfortable van (unlike some we observed enroute!!) Nice variety of stops with a pleasant and friendly driver host who gave us plenty of interesting facts along the way. By far the best point along the trip were the natural pools stop for lunch. Wish we'd have taken our swim gear as places to change available at 3euro entrance fee into a fabulous pool complex. Amazing views of a wonderful coastline. RecommendWritten October 31, 2024
- Margs550 contributionsGreat day and great guideThis was a fantastic day in no small part to the guide who was actually called Lionel Ritchie and Hello, he is the one you’re looking for - knowledgeable, funny and with a real love of his country. The day ended with an astonishing view from the mountains above the clouds. Recommended.Written October 15, 2024
- Shaza00090 contributionsWow. Natural volcanic splendourWe hired a car and drove to this western point of Maderia. Very windy roads but easy to drive on. Parking is not free but plenty of it. Lots of cafe/eating places. A bit commercialised. The natural rock swimming pools were amazing but it was a red flag day for wind so not for me. However people did go in. Would recommend water shoes. Believe there are.lockers but most people just left bags by the rocks. Free to access and take photos.Written October 10, 2024
- woodad220 contributionsA wonderful stress free tour of a delightful islandWow!! We booked the 'two day around the island' tour before we left the UK for Madeira. We received a text advising us of our pick up time and pick up point which gave us great confidence that we had booked with a reputable organisation and so it proved. Each day was amazing. The driver/guide we had for both days was Ronata/George aka Ronato!! (You'll understand the 3 names if you are lucky enough to have him as your guide). Ronato gave us so much wonderful information throughout the tours in an informal, jolly style which was apprciated by all on board. Our minibus had 16 seats and all had panoramic views of the gorgeous countryside. The stops for lunch each day allows you to recover and take stock without rushing you and the time allotted at each stop again didn't make you feel rushed. We were picked up at 8.45 each morning and dropped off around 4.45. We both feel it is exceptional value and we're so happy that we decided to do this tour rather than hire a car and try drive around these steep windy roads. It also means that you can properly enjoy the local drink (Poncha) if you fancy it. There were solo travellers on our trip and people from all over the world and everyone seemed to enjoy it just as much as we both did. Brilliant.Written October 1, 2024
- gardeninggirl0 contributionsInformativeThis is a good option if you want to get to Porto Moniz for a swim without faff of hiring a car. Get a decent 2 hours stop there time for swim and lunch. A precooked tour is offered by tour guide but no need to take it plenty of other options. Small group, very informative guide. Some of the stops really not necessary or interesting but generally a reasonably priced day outWritten September 30, 2024
- V8580NYjennyw0 contributionsExcellent two days!Excellent tours! Our guide (same both days) gave us just the right amount of information, pointing out various plants and landmarks etc along the way. The stops were all interesting and we had about the right amount of time in each. We had a very good driver and felt very safe with him! It was an excellent way of seeing relatively inaccessible places on the island and a very reasonable price too!Written September 22, 2024
- Niamh R0 contributionsWorth every penny (or cent)Renato was our tour guide. He was so informative and had a great sense of humour. The tour was great from start to finish. I'm not sure which was my favourite bit, seeing the oldest christ the redeemer, the rum or the final stop at the top of the mountain! You stop between 20 and 30 minutes at each stop, which is enough, to be honest. We stopped for an hour and a half for lunch, which was also just enough. Would thoroughly recommend! (Infact we recommended it when we met new holiday friends who are planning on doing the tour!) Definitely go, it's well worth the money :)Written September 21, 2024
- Stay639962936530 contributionsMadiera east tourWe had Renato as our guide today on the Madiera East tour. Pickup was prompt, Renato was very entertaining and informative. Stops included a rum distillery, town of Santana with time for lunch and touring around the traditional houses, and a few other stops for walking about and photo ops as we wound our way up to Pico Do Ariero at height of 1818 metres. Enjoyed our day and would recommend the tour and this companyWritten September 20, 2024
