Continue up to the Paul da Serra plateau to encounter a straight road that contrasts with the winding roads of the rest of Madeira. Compare the southern and northern part of the island as you take in the panoramic views.
Descend to the volcanic rock pools of Porto Moniz. After lunch, return to Funchal along the northern coast and via the picturesque village of São Vicente.
