This shore excursion will take you to the enchanted terraces at the Northwest in a 4WD vehicle with a open top roof. We will take you to the Western starting at Serra d'Água, taking you up to 1500 meters high at Paul da Serra, the madeiran plateau. You will get information and history about the views, villages, native forest, fauna, flora, meet the madeiran water channels "levadas" and learn more about them. Please bring some comfortable shoes as we may have a 15 minutes walk to learn more about the "levadas".
Then we will drive to Porto Moniz where you will visit the vulcanic lava pools, and if the weather alows, you can swim at the vulcanic pools.
The lunch is optional, and has a cost of €12.00 per person for a 3 meal course with beveradge and coffee. On the way back, you will see some cliff's and waterfalls, and we will have a stop where you can try our famous "nectar" poncha, one of our local drinks.
