Best Excursion Ever!

We have taken excursions all over the world and this is the best one we’ve ever done! Fantastic full day with Dinarte who loves sharing the magic of Madeira with his guests. The 4x4 off road portion was just the right amount of adventure and Dinarte’s superior driving skills gave the 4 of us complete confidence that we could just enjoy. We not only had fun going to the different stops but we also learned about the flora and fauna with him picking us samples to smell or taste. The stops were just breathtaking, from the mountains to the ocean. The fixed price lunch that we chose to partake in, had delicious entrees - everyone was happy. Dinarte also was flexible about our day, customizing it to our needs. We think of Dinarte and the other guests now as friends, and when we return to Madeira we will do other island tours with Green Devil and request Dinarte to be our guide.

Superb day out with Green Devil Tours

We have just returned from a full day out with this tour company and had a superb time exploring the island. We felt in excellent hands with our guide Oiego who took us off road in the mountains and to some perfect picture locations. We would highly recommend as we thoroughly enjoyed it but it might not suit those with walking difficulties or if you are afraid of heights. Oiego's professional driving meant we felt perfectly safe even at the highest and steepest points, he kept us informed with facts and local information. A fun and packed day out.

Thrilling excursion in Madeira with Rui!
Did the tour with Rui on 2 Jan 2023 - he was friendly, personable and interactive. Took the time to show us many interesting sights around Madeira, including stopping along the way to point out certain plants and trees.

The 4x4 ride was exciting, the walk in Fanal forest was magical, and €15 lunch (we opted for the set meal) in Porto Moniz was superb. Took a dip in the volcanic pools of Seixal, and capped the day with viewing a few waterfalls on the way back.

Our tour had 6 guests booked but 3 did not show up despite waiting at their hotel for over 25 minutes. That didn’t prevent us from having a wonderful experience. Highly recommended 5* tour!

A great tour in great company
We did a tour the other day to the Enchanted Terraces, a full day trip, booked a few days in advance.
The whole experience was great, I couldn't recommend the company and our guide, Igor, more. From morning when we got picked up on time until the evening when we got dropped off, we felt welcomed, taken care of, entertained and paid attention to. Whatever request or question we had, we were always helped. The group was also the right size ie 4 people in a jeep, the English skills were on point and generally the whole trip was a pleasure for us.
We are already considering another tour wiyh them while are still here and we will definitely keep them in mind for any future trips to Madeira.

Best Tour Ever

My friend and I did the Enchanted Terraces tour with Lino and it was absolutely the best tour ever. Lino was knowledgeable in every village we visited, he was funny, took lots of awesome pictures of us and made us feel like a family even though at the beginning of the tour we were all strangers. We learned all dogs are called Bobby, cats are called psssshshshsh and cows are Antonias 🤣. Totally recommend the experience and be ready for a traditional Madeira Massage in the mountains 🏔🌄🏞🚙

Incredible Tour! Unforgettable experience 10/10
This tour was absolutely brilliant! I was on my own but in a group of 4 altogether. Our guide Lino was very welcoming, extremely funny and very knowledgeable about all things Madeira. He was so passionate about what he does and made our experience unforgettable. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great tour. His driving of the 4x4 was great, he was interactive throughout and also took some fantastic photos. I highly recommend using Green Devil Safari tours. Special mention again to Lino, you really made the tour amazing and I would love to go on another tour with you when I return to Madeira in future. 10/10.

Great Trip 🥳
Was very fun. The 4x4 bit was the best. Our man really liked his power ballad. Making standing up on a open top Land Rover jiggling about the music and the terrain a great memory. Rock pool was slippy though so slide in on your bum.

The whole 'Porto Moniz - Enchanted Terraces' excursion was awesome. Dinarte, our tour guide, was exactly on time to pick us up and outlined the whole day, just to prepare us for the adventure ahead. We went on to collect the other passengers, they really made the day extra special! Dinarte put us all at ease and could not do enough to include us in the day and to share all of his information on Madeira and more, with a very funny humour - he made what was already a great tour, just by being in Madeira with its amazing terrain, extra cool. The off road driving reminded me of my childhood, very exciting!

A great introduction to Madeira

A really great day out. Friendly knowledgeable guide in Nuno who is a great communicator in several languages and a great driver to have. It was a well paced trip with enough stops and opportunities to appreciate the various points of interest and to swim. Nice restaurant for lunch at Porto Moniz and a great little stop for poncha! It was great to see this part of the island with someone who really knows and loves Madeira. Highly recommend this company and especially Nuno.

Tourist trap only
We booked this after an outstanding trip four years ago with a different operator. I wish I could remember who it was with because changing was a huge mistake.

It started off with the driver being half and hour late. Then we had to drive 45 minutes to pick the final two customers up, so we actually started the tour about 10am instead of 8.30 that it states in the brochure.

The first stop was a bar to have a local poncha or other drink, this will be a theme all day, we only stopped at places that there was a tourist shop conveniently right next door.

I should mention the vehicle we were in. Yes, it was 4x4, but it wasn't open top and it felt like it would fall to bits any second. The frame on the passenger seat that lifted up to let people into the back had broken supports, god help the person sat in that seat if there was an accident. You could also feel the steel frame of the back rests as they were so worn down.

After the poncha bar we trundled up the side of a mountain bouncing those steel bars in the back rest right into my spine. When we got up high you couldn't see a thing as it was cloudy and raining, so we headed back down for lunch.

We got the option to have a three course meal for €15 each, which sounds like a bargain. It isn't. You get what you pay for. 1/4 of a garlic bread, the worst cooked, fatty grizzly espanada (steak on a stick) and a flavourless caramel pudding. There are loads of other restaurants nearby so if you take your life in to your hands with this trip say no to the lunch, pay a bit more and get something worth eating.

The afternoon comprised of driving to a swimming spot for an hour, then to a black sand beach for 40 minutes, then to see three of the most pathetic waterfalls I have ever seen.

If you've taken the time to read all of this, do yourself a favour and book with a different operator, because this one is all about parting you with your money.
