The Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella is a superior institute of musical studies founded in Naples in 1808.
It is located in the historical center of the city, in the former convent of the Celestini annexed to the church of San Pietro a Majella.
The complex turns out to be one of the most prestigious music schools in Italy and in the course of its history it has been a pivotal point in the influence of European musical culture, contributing strongly to the development of the Neapolitan musical school.
The conservatory is the result of the union of four previous musical institutes which bear witness to the high interest of the city of Naples towards musical culture.
