Overview
Forty meters below the characteristic and lively streets of the historic center of Naples, you find a different world. Isolated by time, unexplored until recently, but deeply connected with the current world above. It’s the heart of Naples, and the place from which the city was born. To visit it is to travel 2,400 years in the past. Every historic epic, from the foundation of Neopolis, to the bombs of WWII, has left it’s mark on the walls of the yellow tufa stone, the soul of Naples, the stone with which the city was built. Come, join this magical 1.5 hour journey back in time.
Highlights
  • Descend into a secret world that's 131 feet (40 meters) below Naples’ streets
  • See Roman ruins and tunnels used as air raid shelters in World War II
  • Learn about the history that shaped this eerie place
  • Upgrade to add a transfer or a Neapolitan pizza in a local pizzeria
What to Expect
If you’ve selected transfers, enjoy transport from your Central Naples hotel. If not, make your own way to Underground Naples and descend the stairs that drop around 131 feet (40 meters) below the ground.
Your guide will lead you through the honeycombed web. See World War II air raid shelters, a small war museum, underground gardens, ancient caverns now used as cisterns, and the remains of a Greco-Roman aqueduct. Explore the remains of an ancient Greco-Roman theater, entered through the ground floor of someone’s home.
If you’ve selected the pizza option, enjoy a pizza with soft drink at a local pizzeria after your tour. If you’ve opted for transfers, your driver will escort you to your hotel.

This was an interesting tour. It appeared to be rather disorganized at first with the English speaking group getting called up to the front, only to sit their and wait and subsequently watch the Italian groups parade past...strange? In any event, the guide was knowledgeable...More

The destination was not that easy to find. The palazzo given in the description is not the right spot according to google maps. Then we had to wait a quite long time until the tour began, because all the people are being seperated into groups...More
