It was an amazing experience but be prepared to hike at a moderate level. Definitely wear sneakers or the right hiking boots. We used a guide which was so worth it Allesandro was very knowledgeable and informative. . Have a taxi waiting for u at the end of your hike. The walk back to possitano was insane after the hike. They made it sound like it ends in Positano but it’s actually on the city line a mile or two away. We did enjoy it and get amazing family pics!

Dear customer, Thank you very much for your review. Alessandro is a great guide and one of the best in my team. I am sad to hear you wore bad shoes as I always write to wear hiking or running shoes with good traction. Many times people don’t read the instructions while doing the booking, even if we always write that the hike is not suitable for everybody snd to wear proper shoes. I suggest you for the next time to send a message to the guides if you have any doubt. For the walk to Positano: Alessandro gave you all the info and also told you many times that there is a bus or a taxi to get to Positano. Walking 1700 steps downhill + 1 mile on the road to get to the centre of Positano is only for the bravest and we always suggest people not to do it as there are other options. We always suggest the best for our customers but it happens that sometimes customers don’t listen to us. Have a great stay in Positano, Lucia

A very nice hike with stunning views. Very italian- you start and end at restaurants/ bars and a place for limoncello in the middle. Moderate hike- lots of rock steps- I would strongly recommend hiking poles and setting out as early as possible before it gets warm. You can also download the trip at the beginning to ensure you don't get lost, but that is very hard to do!

I hired Lucia a couple of months ago.
We did several tours together (Pompei Ruins, Path of the Gods, Hike Valle delle Ferriere, Capri and Santa Maria del Castello). I am an avid hiker and I could do this trail by myself but I wanted to discover more about the Amalfi Coast and its history so we hired lucia for a private tour.
Lucia grew up in Positano and She's a certified guide from Regione Campania (not everybody has this license) so she's extremely knowledgeable about History, Mithology, Botany and Local Legends. She's also really friendly and her sense of Humor made us feel like at home.
We took a taxi to Bomerano and then we hiked to the Upper side to Nocelle.
Please notice the trail divides in twice only for a couple of km.
We had a great hike and lots of fun!
At the end of the trail we walked 1700 steps downhill (very bad for the knees).
Lucia made our holiday fantastic!

Do not recommend. We went on a Thursday morning in late May and the path was extremely crowded. A lot of boisterous group hikers clogging the path made this thoroughly disappointing. The views are incredible, but please stop to the side so others can pass.

An exhilarating hike, as we decided to hike up from Praiano.
Unfortunately the sun was shining on us on the way up but the clouds came in once we did the route back to Nocelle. So weren't able to get any view /outlook photos.
However, highly recommended for those that like hiking 🚶‍♀️ as a pastime 🙂

Alessandro was our tour guide. Highly recommend him! Knows the path very well and was very patient during the hike. Also very knowledgeable about the history as well. Great at conversations. We opted for the picnic and he picked the best and freshest food.

Lucy was able to arrange for a taxi to pick us up at our hotel in Positano to bring us to Bomerano at the start of the Path of the Gods trail. When booking the tour, let Lucy know that you are interested in a taxi to Bomerano if possible. If there are enough people who are also interested in taking a taxi to Bomerano, then Lucy can arrange a taxi pickup.

Note - this is an easy to medium difficulty hike. There are some areas with steep steps and some slippery surfaces. You at the very least need sneakers with good treads, but hiking shoes definitely help. We bought inexpensive low-top hiking shoes and they were perfect for inexperienced hikers like ourselves. Luckily, our tour guide Antonio brought another walking stick for one of our tour members to use since his treads weren't good.

Our tour guide Antonio was amazing. He is a botanist and was able to tell us about all the different plants we would see on the trail. He took us to an agriturismo near Bomerano to check out the animals and taste the fresh cow milk - delicious! Also, he took us around the neighborhood to show us beautiful viewing spots of the coast.

We were able to go at our own pace. Antonio gave us the option of either the difficult or easy section in the middle portion of the hike. We chose the easier route. Also, the lunch was delicious! We had freshly baked bread (stuffed with pieces of ham), mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, olives, and salami. Vegetarian options were available upon request.

Lastly, at the conclusion of the trail, we had an option to take the stairs down or the bus. We decided to take the stairs - be mindful that it takes approx. 45 min depending on how slow you walk down. Then at the bottom of the stairs, make a right onto the road and continue until you reach Positano town. It is about a 20-30 min walk on the road with no sidewalks; be careful!

Thanks you so much for your review. We always try to do our best to coordinate and make your tours as better as we can. Antonio is a great guide and a local expert about botany. The steps to Positano are not for everybody, we always try to explain how challenging they can be. I hope we can meet again, Lucy

Before putting this hike on our "to do list" we read numerous reviews on TripAdvisor. We prepared ourselves with a good breakfast, proper foot wear, snacks and lots of water. From Sorrento you can get a Sita day pass for 10euros from the cart near the bus stop in front of the train station. Take the early bus to Amalfi and then transfer to the Agerola bus that takes you up to the top of the cliffs. From the bus stop at Bomerano, walk to the left a bit, cross the road and walk up to the piazza, church and you will see the signs for the Path. It was sunny and 26 degrees (C), There are alot of walking, climbing up and down on the trail. They views are stunning but be prepared, if you have joint issue this may not be a thing for you. You walk and climb up rock steps, down into forested shaded areas. They say the trail or path is 7km, but our fitness tracker put it just over 9km.from start to finish. We did our trek in early October, it was hot and dry, however in the spring it does rain and the rocks and stone can be awash and slippery. Take lots of water, food, and pictures. The other information is the steps down to the road leading into Positano. There are 1500 of them, they are not evenly spaced and they are a real test for your legs, once you reach the road there is a bus stop down the road, or you can walk 3/4 of a km. Into Positano and walk down more steps to the beach. Great views, glad I did it, just thought people should be prepared, especially if you taking your children with you. Some parts of the trail are not guarded and there are sheer edges.

Dear Nick, thanks a lot for your review. It is very important for everybody to understand how the trail can be challenging for some people. Every time customers contact us we write them that the path of the gods is not suitable: - for people who are not fit -for people who are scared of heights -for people with knee, legs, heart, balance problems and always good hiking shoes or shoes for trail running are required

This hike was fantastic not only due to the stunning views but also thanks to our top notch guide, Antonio! He is from Bomerano and a licensed guide, botanist, and skilled hiker. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and the history/myths of the area! PLEASE wear hiking shoes/sneakers with good tread if you do this hike! There are steep areas going up and down where slips are possible. Thankfully, Antonio had 2 walking sticks for us to use. We actually saw people on the path wearing flip flops and wondered how they finished up!
Antonio never rushed us and kept us moving at a good pace. His experience as a hiker helped us enjoy the tour safely. The simple picnic lunch he provided was delicious! Make sure you bring your own water and a backpack to use so your hands can stay free to steady yourself difficult portions of the hike. We chose to take the easier path (Antonio does a very thorough job telling you the differences between the 2 routes so you can decide) and it still had challenging areas that he prepared us for.
We opted to walk the 1,700 steps from Nocelle back to Positano. And they are literally stairsteps all the way down. The sore muscles were worth the breathtaking scenery and very enjoyable time spent with Antonio! Don’t miss this hike if you are in Positano!

We went from Amalfi to Agerola by bus and from there we started our descending. It is an easy trail, suitable for kids and adults. The views with the sea are breathtaking. The final town was Sorrento.
